Chapter 166 (placeholder) (Patreon)

Assuming there are no complications after surgery on the 7th, I should be back home the same day. Apparently the recovery time is only a couple of days, so I'm hoping to be able to get back to writing the next chapter without too much delay.

With a bit of luck, I hope to be able to complete a couple of chapters this month, not including chapter 163 which I'll finish next week.

One of our sales staff had her gall bladder removed two weeks ago, after months of pain and sickness. Took her about two weeks to feel 100%, but now she's back to her old self and loving life again. Just don't push too hard on your recovery; everyone has different healing rates.

Sorry to hear you've had a bad few months, seems like its been since before the end of 2022. You are still charging for stories you're not providing. I'm on a fixed income and i do enjoy your writing, but I'm thinking about cancelling my subscription and just waiting for it to come out where I originally found your story, on Literotica. I know my $2 a month doesn't mean much to you, but it means a whole lot to me. Please stop doing placeholders, if it means we don't get a chapter, so be it. This makes 4 whole chapters you owe us your followers in the month of June, I'm very doubtful that we will get the rest of chapter 163, let alone 164, 165, 166. I do hope you get well, but we all have these set backs, and most of us can't say "here is a placeholder for ...", just so we can get money, if you are having that much of a problem with making/saving money on Patreon, then maybe you need to go back to working a job again. Please stop, if we have to go a month or more without a chapter, that is fine, but stop charging us for stuff you haven't done, please.

Gall stones can be removed naturally a few different ways without surgery, a lot less painfully and without any additional downtime. My boss did a juice cleanse and it only took a weekend of taking it easy. It’s important as we age to be more proactive and practice preventative maintenance, especially when you’ve made commitments to provide a product that you’ve already been paid for. I’m sure the stress of forcing yourself to perform isn’t helping. It seems and I’m assuming this is your sole source of income which is not a good position to be in especially as you slowing killing your golden goose with the placeholders and consistency in issues that crop up to affect your writing. You got caught up at then end of the year but you right back to being behind and now worse than ever before. You need to develop another source of income. Maybe it’s writing somewhere else, maybe it’s a series of short stories that you can post to another channel here or in discord with a pay gate. Maybe it’s something totally different that can help you get material and inspiration for your stories. Regardless you need to make a change as it’s evident this is not sustainable for the long run. Take care.

Being a patron means that we're agreeing to fund Tefler to make this story. Yes, he's originally said each posted chapter would be charged. Enough people said he could early charge/placehold that he began doing that. He hasn't stopped writing. The output just hasn't increased as we'd expected. If you, as a patron, are so financially incapable that $3 destroys your finances and sends you into bankruptcy... you should just 'cut your losses' and get off of this site completely.

And this was the reason I reduced to the lowest level 5 minutes ago. I have the funds to pay for the higher level, but honestly why? When was the last picture posted for the level 2 tier? I would tell you, but I reduced to the minimum so can not see the pics in any case. My major problem is that the notifications come at the last moment, when you know he can make the money off of people before dropping out or reducing their contribution. I am sure the newest problems were not sprung upon him late last night just before he posted, it was known in advance. We were also promised make up chapters in his April post that never arrived, and in fact in a month we are getting half of a chapter, and charged for another chapter he did not receive yet again. And people saying you can read on the free site SOL are clueless, ANYONE on here that does, knows that he is only posted chapter 14X5 And he adds a chapter maybe once every 3 months on average? 140 was posted on 02/16/22, 145 posted on 05/02/23. Note, I understand why as the site does have some rules about posting stories that are being paid for elsewhere. If he catches up, I will return to my previous level, but honestly, I can no longer justify paying for a service I am not receiving. Save the "you must be poor" comments, I have paid the higher tier price for over 3 years. A coworker just had his gall bladder removed and was scheduled to be out for up to a month and was back home same day and back at work in a week. Another person I know, a model/photographer,, goes in early next week for the same thing and was told to expect the same recovery time as my coworker. Get better soon Tefler.

At this point, I'm not even mad at Tefler anymore, I'm the Idiot who knows he's about to get charged for excuses again, but still continues his subscription. We all know we ain't getting shit else this month, so enjoy your half chapter, and be back on the 1st of July for a new half chapter, excuse and Placeholder. Tried and tested Formula.

Tef's has gotten into a little problem with his fans through poor expectation management. I also support FortySixFour on Patreon, and his output is somewhat equivalent to Tef's I would guess - but his patreons pay for access to his latest (often draft) chapters, and all the earlier ones too. He makes no promises about a chapter per month, and no-one on his site gets concerned if draft chapter bits don't get finished in a particular time-frame when life gets in the way ... which it does from time to time, as the cold weather can cause all sorts of problems with the mobile home he lives in. I would recommend that Tef rearrange his Patreon in the same way - although I respect Tef's decision not to, if he feels the deadline pressure helps to keep him writing as much as he does. To ease his predicament, shorter chapters might help. ... Tef, hope the operation goes well!

So, all those who are complaining, just shut up or leave. Just figure it is a monthly payment, not per chapter I UP'd my membership to $5, with a limit of 1 per month. Tefler needs our support, not our complaints. Bitching won't help him get in the mood to write more. I would hate to see Tefler disappear like Kid Wiggler, who posted every 6 months.

Tefler, writing serial fiction is not easy. There have been many extenuating circumstances, and I look forward to having something to read in the last hours of the month, but there is this: It may simply not be possible to produce this story at the rate you used to crank it out. I will continue to support your ghost episodes, but you are digging a hole that ultimately serves no one. I have no concrete advice on the subject, except devoting some of the time when the words aren't coming to making more money off the huge, amazing body of work you have already created.

All, I sincerely apologize for poking the bear with my comments concerning the right to complain. In no way did I intend my initial response to Peter to cause such a schism within the fans of this amazing story. We all LOVE this story and would never wish to cause the author anguish. Sometimes people say things with more vitriol that intended because they are passionate about the topic, as Michael56Smith and I have discussed before. I sincerely hope we can all join together, wish Tefler a speedy recovery, and get back to the real reason we are all here: discourse and discussion about one of the greatest space operas ever written. I can admit when I'm wrong and I was wrong to engage in this as you're clearly getting your daily hit off this so my bad for supporting your habits. I didn't offer anything because barring Tefler or myself kicking it he's going to write it and I'm going to read it eventually. I also don't mind posts that state people are perturbed because no one in a shared space is happy collectively, I also usually don't read the comments, and if I find one that's generally stupid to me(your initial post for example), I can and do usually abstain from commenting. .124: the End of August is approaching, and Tef's surgery has been put off (for how long is unknown) So, he well be likely to have time to finish off chapter #164, and perhaps get #165 and even #166 ready to drop at months end, .... perhaps that is just my wishful thinking, but then, he knows that After the Surgery, he likely won't be able to write for a time, ... so he'll want to do a little catch up while he can, .... I hope, .... fingers crossed, .... ;-) ttfn
