Sup guys!

TLDR: Update on Monday, and a Progress Report in the weekend.

I'm just making my way giving the demo the finishing touches to prep it for public release. Much of that is "boring" and not worth putting on a Progress Report with screenshots. It really is just busywork.

Examples:

1) Putting in the Relationship variables

2) Copyediting one last time before leaving the Childhood Arc to rest

3) Adding in small cut content pieces or cutting out content to allow the demo to flow better

4) Adding in the option to toggle on or off audio and images

5) Removing spoilery author comments in the code

6) Changed the age of MC to be eight instead of five.

7) Fixing, improving, and making merging paths feel more natural and well-paced

8) Added Reputation points to various choices and the like so that readers can spend their points

I've been taking my time to iron out some problems we've seen with the game so far and fixing up the things people have sent to me through DMs and screenshots (thanks for that btw guys!!!!), and trying to pull all the variables together to make something coherent for readers to experience.

What's taken the longest without doubt however, is the fact I had to do alot of reading my own work so I could remember what is what and what exactly to call back on for this epilogue. Along the way I've been fixing, editing, and generally just taking my time to find errors and mistakes.

Hence the slower progress.

I'm also implementing the Relationships Tab to full capacity (with the characters already shown up ingame up to the end of the Childhood Arc getting their small entries for readers to read and keep track of)

Ill upload what I have in the weekend progress report so that way you guys get to see the progress ive made in regards to the above!

I really wish I couldve been sharing what im doing but its legit just boring copyedit and programming stuff lol

As for the epilogue proper, I've been tackling it in bits and pieces since it'll roll the way of Fallout 3/New Vegas in a kinda way. Just more detailed and in depth than just the slideshows seen in those games. It's a bit more complicated than I thought it'd be, but not "ah shit this is hard" complicated, but in a "Fuuuuuck this is taking too long" complicated. It also feels like im not doing as much progress because it isn't linear haha, at least the "slideshow" part of it isn't. At the moment its a lot of plugging in variables and paragraphs. I think once I hit the epilogue timeskip stuff ill be hitting a stride with quick writing again since there'll be less involved coding.

Anyways, that's all from me for now. The weekend will be when I share screenshots, and Monday you'll get the updated demo + epilogue once i have more done with the epilogue that's linear instead of the bits and pieces of the epilogue "slideshow" that'd just spoil things haha

I honestly agree with the rise in mc's age. With the degree we will be speaking, at least at the festival, isn't really possible for a 5 year old with out literally everyone clocking how weird the mc is. Mc being 8 holds up some of the realism

Arielle

True ! But for my part, I hope that Aurelian's age will follow and therefore that he will be 6 years old and that Percy and Juli will be born. I'm speaking for myself of course, but if the age gap between them is too wide, My Mc will find it hard to bond with them.

Wait, epilogue? Is the book gonna finish while mc is still a child? I don't even know what's going on anymore 😅

Arielle

Not the book's epilogue. Flame works on the epilogue of the childhood arc.
