I don't know what that pink stuff was. My theory is that it was a part of Rangiku's power? Or soul? Looks like they took it for experiments, possibly for the Hogyoku.

Danny Gonzalez

Ahh yes gin the fkn goat!..aslo who excited to see them pass out on tybw?!?peak🤣

Andrew1170

I think it was mentioned somewhere in the light novels that a small essence of the Soul King fell into the mortal world when he was mutated. Azien used that to make his verison of Hogyoku

Arhanel

Reminder that rangikus shikai also turns her blade to dust

Soulrebel0902

Gins Bankai translates to God Killing spear. Gin doing it for revenge for his love.

Volt

This moment is one of my favorites in the show, Aizen about to tell Gin something (maybe heartfelt) right before getting stabbed in the heart, then Gin tells him that he gets to die with a hole in his heart (literally and metaphorically) and says "isn't that what you wanted?". Just so peak. I do think Aizen was genuinely hurt that Gin betrayed him even though he already knew Gin joined him for that purpose

Vino

they took a piece of her soul. they explain why Aizen did what he did but even among those he took, rangiku is a bit of special case. I'll just spoil it because they explain it in the novel - there are people born with soul king fragments and what Aizen did was take away a piece of that which was in Rangiku

Gin Ichimaru, the man who dedidacted his whole life to playing the long con and take revenge for Matsumoto

Everyone else has pretty much covered it, but Aizen was feeding souls to the Hogyoku to strengthen it - he took a piece of Rangiku's soul and fed it to the Hogyoku, which is why Gin vowed to kill him. It's interesting that you called Gin a "good guy" — I wouldn't go that far to call him "good" as much as "devoted". He didn't care about the Soul Society, he didn't care about Aizen's plan, he didn't care about having to kill anyone, all he wanted was to avenge Rangiku. I wouldn't say that makes him a good person, but the end result (if he succeeds) is still a good thing. Once again Kubo does a masterful job at leaving subtle clues on things - as others have said, Gin's bankai form translates to "God-Killing Spear" but what's also interesting is that both him and Rangiku's sword have similar functions - they both turn to dust as part of their abilities. Honestly the two of them are one of my favorite relationships in the series.

Ken Lang

Yeah Gin is pretty much a gangster. "F everyone" to avenge his boo. Traumatized Momo, abandoned Kira, watched the soul society get wrecked, stabbed Hiyori and didn't care about any of his comrades dying. Like nothing else matters but her. That's loyalty. That's a ride or die.

THE_KENPACHI

AIZEN was collecting souls back then for creating HOLLOWS.. any further explanation would spoil tbwy* for them.

Ken Lang

Now why would you allude to tybw aint nobody talking about that lol ironically you just spoiled and gave away it's gonna be covered in tybw *facepalm

You could talk for hours about Gin, bleach's power system is just perfect for character writing and he's one of the best examples. First of all you have the snake theme going on, with the blade extending like a snake lounging forward and the chip releasing a lethal poison. As others said, Gin's sword also turns to dust for an instant, a nod to Rangiku's shikai. In bleach is also common for the shikai to reflect how someone is on the outside, while the bankai reflects how someone really is inside: shinso (shikai) translates to God's spear, which makes you think Gin is Aizen's right arm; but Kamishini no Yari (bankai) translates to God-killing spear, revealing his true intentions. Now the heartbreaking part: since each zanpakuto is a part/reflection of a shinigami's soul, Gin is basically sacrificing a piece of his soul in order to retrieve the one taken from Rangiku, which symbolizes how actually taxing this life was for him, but also the length he was willing to go for her.

CaptainCameron

Honestly Yamamoto’s theory about Aizen’s hypnosis was kind of correct. He was technically touching Aizens blade when he grabbed his arm while being stabbed so he countered the hypnosis

Jay rellim
