The backstory we get from Ginjo isn't the full backstory. There is quite more in the Bleach Light Novel, but I don't think going into detail now would be a good idea, since maybe (hopefully) they will include some things from the Light Novel in BleachTYBWs last season. And if they do, i don't want to potentially spoil anything. The funny thing is, he did actually already tell a part of the story, with slight changes, very early on in this arc. But I can tell you that his rage is justified imo.
I mean look at how angry you got, when the Soul Reapers didn't show up for Ichigo's birthday and went no contact with him lol

Hielo Kasama

Imagine all the times where Ichigo put his life on the line and he was being nerfed by soul society. Imagine all the fights he had in hueco mundo and fighting aizen after using the combat pass.

Volt

Imagine the part time job you work at from time to time plants a surveillance system on you to track and record your movements and speech, diabolical work tbh

Ken Lang

I've heard many takes about this. People say "But after all Ichigo had done for them they should know him by now to see he's trustworthy." I disagree. The timeline of the whole series before Fullbring is like less than year. After successfully rescuing Rukia, he just happened to uncover Aizen's scheme and prevent an innocent person from being executed. But that was by accident. Ichigo did not know who Aizen was, what he was up to, or what the hogoyku even was. All he wanted to do was save Rukia. It was a "thanks Ichigo because of what you've done here it just so happens to favor us and we discovered who Aizen really is." But the fact remains, at the end of soul society arc, Ichigo is still a stranger to them. He didn't have interactions with most of the squads, and even the few he did interact with (Renji) had just met him and didn't spend a lot of time together. This was a guy who invaded a military base and did things his way as he saw fit because he wanted to save his friend and it just turned out to work in soul society's favor in the end because it revealed truth about the mastermind of an execution scheme and weed out the villain. But what happens next time if he disagrees with something? Invade Seireitei, wreak havoc and stir up civil war again? It is TOTALLY understandable to give the combat pass to monitor a guy like that. Ichigo doesn't see some of the gotei 13 again until he's already in the thick of the arrancar battles so again they still don't know him too well and they don't have time to address the combat pass. Remember this is all in a matter of months.

I wouldn't post this personaally. Mostly because there's a chance even if a low one that CFYOW gets an adaptation.

yeah imo ichigo is too forgiving of soul society lol but like he said, the tradeoff is having the power to protect others. but still, soul society did him wrong a number of times, especially since him getting powers from rukia were outside of his control (either everyone dies in ep 1 or he gets powers lol)

The Black Promontory

It’s easy to trivialize Ginjo’s view because we instinctively side with the good guys… but the Court Guards are not so much “good guys” as they are status quo keepers. -They employ Mayuri (evil nazi concentration camp scientist of an individual. A real war criminal type) - They pre-arrest people and throw them into the maggot’s nest. - they set laws solely based on a cabal of elites that call themselves the Central 46 and their decisions cannot be appealed. -they maintain a system that is happy to have most souls spend countless centuries in poverty and squalor of the Rukongai. And the sins continue… imagine finding out an institution like that lied to you, is spying on you, and has been secretly able to nerf your strength (able to wait for you to battle just to nerf you so they kill you indirectly)

ginjo has justified reasons to hate soul society. this story is not in anime so i wont tell but it has to do with soul society big shots and he was betrayed first. his goal is to aquire power and destroy them in revenge. ichigo could very much end up in the same spot as ginjo hunted by gotei if things went different for him. the reason 3 captains were sent here was if ichigo decided to join sides with ginjo they were to kill them both.

jikaem

animation is absolutely elite in this arc

Ken Lang

Yeah I think of it as house arrest but justifiably so. A ryoka came in and did things his way as he saw fit and it just turned out to be in our favor. So we won’t punish him but let’s keep an eye on him for now since we just met him kind of thing.

Ken Lang

Idk if there’s any concrete evidence that he was nerfed. It was said that they use the combat pass to control his spiritual pressure. But that doesn’t clarify if or when they raised or decreased his spiritual output.

Pandrix

Oh man I absolute cannot wait for the last episode and TYBW

Polygon

It’s easy to forget because they’ve mostly been portrayed as allies until now, but the Soul Reapers are NOT “good” guys. They’re a NEUTRAL force tasked with maintaining the balance of the universe. That’s why people like Yamamoto, Mayuri, Kenny, and even Kyoraku end up in positions of power. Morals take a back seat when stopping the universe from collapsing is your job haha. Also, Ginjo’s backstory with Ukitake is more fully developed in the Can’t Fear Your Own World light novels since the show kinda glosses over how Ukitake “betrayed” him. Hopefully those novel’s get animated after TYBW.

Volt

I disagree, Ichigo and his friends all spent a decent amount of time in the soul society to the point where they all know the captains by name and Yamamoto feels the need to give Ichigo orders in the arrancar saga. It has nothing to do him being potentially dangerous, like Ginjo said they would give him the pass regardless with the intention to use him as a pawn and discard him whenever they feel like. Ichigo isn’t more potentially dangerous than someone like Kenpachi, Shunsui, or Ukitake who all also disobeyed orders in the SS arc

THE_KENPACHI

The first KENPACHI was the most notorious criminal in all of soul society. All the original captains were in fact notorious thugs that ended up supporting peace and order.

THE_KENPACHI

When are we starting TYBW … I’m not waiting a decade again… lol
