I honestly thought you both will be spoiled because of the half time banner they showed!! I mean it was a nice hint but a lil bit too spoiler-ish if someone decides to pause and take a look at the image carefully.

How about that voice acting from As Nodt though?! btw hes also the same voice actor as Inosuke from demon slayer. They POPPED off in every category in this episode, from the sound design, the amazing voice acting, the pacing, the animation, the character development etc. this was damn near a PERFECT episode. *chefs kiss*. I also want to add, i dont think any other character in ANIME has portrayed fear as DEEP and REAL as As Nodt, even when all the eyes were surrounding Rukia majority of peoples first thought is " just close your eyes" but no, As Nodt breaks that down too and double down by saying by closing your eyes it makes his power even more potent etc. straight madness. pure cinema

Bankai is about Self-enlightenment, most Soul Reapers have a surface level understanding of themselves. It's why Ichigo needs to learn about his roots, It's also why Renji first unlocks bankai by accepting that he wants to save Rukia.

Just my understanding so far: As soon as someone gains Bankai the Shikai is neglectet. Of course you focus more on your best weapon i guess. But just because your Shikai does not release that much reishi and power in comparison to ones bankai on an default modus It does not mean that it has to stay this way. Many things can simply be more dynamic in the power system when powers are not just static but also can evolve and be more dynamic through training your base strength and strategy as well as fighting stile changes and experimentation. In conclusion what Byakuya tells us: Do not stagnate in any shape or form. (My thoughts)

I view Rukia's Bankai as one that requires an ally to back her up. She's incredibly vulnerable in that state, and so someone else would need to be around just in case the target isn't killed. Byakuya essentially forgot what it meant to fully explore the limits of his shikai because he had gotten so strong that its basic function was enough for him to win, and if not, he'd use bankai. Now he fully understands how powerful his shikai is. Think of achieving bankai as the first level of bankai; the next step is to train it to make it stronger and really understand its power. Yamamoto did this, and he was already old as hell, 1000 years ago, is bankai would explode things with fire upon contact, he honed it further so that it's more effective. I highly doubt he had North, South, East and West when he first got it. It's implied that As Nodt survived Auswählen, which is why he was on death's door.

On the idea of 'why do soul reapers not get the real name of their zanpakuto first, when they start out?' Remember what Nimaiya said about them? All shinigami start off with an asauchi that he made - once they've instilled their personality and spiritual energy or their "soul" into their sword they attain shikai and truly have a zanpakuto rather than just a sword.
