I'm actually surprised that Bartolomeo didn't know about Shanks because he even knew about the meaning of tangerines from Nami's village and it was before logue town

unfortunately they are still adapting 1 chapter per episode, but the pacing should feel better because they are adding some anime only filler instead of recaps/long pauses etc. anyways this season is going to be great, because manga itself is moving at a lightning speed right now

They can easily adapt 2 chapters, if not more, per episode. Not fully utilizing the benefit of going seasonal if the pacing is still going to be exactly the same as it always was.

To fully realize the benefits of a seasonal production, toei would have to take 1.5 year break, according to vincent, the current cour schedule only adds a couple days of time for animators to work.

Great moments don’t mean a great arc if you have to shovel through unnecessary padding from a terrible studio to get there. One piece fans think it’s okay for some reason. As long as you believe that, then you will unknowingly push away people that truly want to get into the series but can’t, due to the abysmal quality.

The chapter this episode was adapting wasn't insanely eventful. Even the parts where Barton arrived to these islands and started burning Shanks' flag was just a cover story. Toei did very well with this chapter, considering what they worked with

I think people get too hung up on the 1 chapter per episode thing. One Piece as a manga is insanely jam-packed, some people usually complain that Oda puts in too much per chapter. Toei DO pad sometimes, don't get me wrong but having read Elbaph, 1 chapter per episode should be fine.

I’m not talking about this episode really, but the next few. You are referring to the chapter as a singularity, that’s the start of the issue. People are so used to having one chapter per episode for one piece, when that is considered criminal for other anime. Naruto is 2-3 chapters an episode, AOT is 4, hxh is 4, jojo’s is 4-7. Every episode of one piece would be incredible if toei did 2-3 chapters an episode, regardless of if it’s a big chapter or not. Even the uneventful chapters have plenty of good humour, exposition, and meaningful interactions.

Random jojos update - they finally updated everyone saying it'll release in cours like current bleach!! We don't know if each cour will have a set amount of episodes or if it'll be different in size compared to the arcs they'll cover, but im imagining it'll be closer to the former! Sucks that it's not weekly in it's entirety but i think this is the best release schedule that maximizes the animation quality and still giving us weekly episodes every few months. Been good so far. I don't mind if they adapt 1 chapter per episode as long as they can make it flow. I just don't want the repeating flashbacks 🤣

Honestly I hate the Netflix release. I prefer weekly episodes.. Releasing in batches kills the hype and the feeling of watching "together" 😭
