Mayuri gotta be one of the most op Bleach captains ong, also about Byakuya's bankai changing theres no way it would be like the other characters. Rukia didnt have bankai, Renji didnt know his zanpakto full name, Ichigo had a fake zanpakto. Byakuya just got % buffs lol

Zombie Toshiro looks so much stronger for two reasons: 1. He’s against opponents who are much weaker than a captain lol. Ikkaku and Yumichik aren’t on his level even when he’s alive. 2. He has no emotions or humanity holding him back. He can be as brutal, cold, and efficient as possible.

I've always been under the impression that, in reality, Mayuri and Hitsugaya were just standing there while Hitsugaya was going through a mental breakdown until he collapsed from the drug. Regarding the pacing, the series needed to have time to focus on characters that aren't Ichigo and his friends, as well as relieve some of the tension.

Fun fact. When Yumichika stepped in to defend Ikkaku, he was about to go into shikai with his true shikai, Ruri'iro Kujaku instead of the fake one he usually uses Fuji Kujaku, he was dead serious on taking down Toshiro at that moment.
