There was no Hueco Mundo, Soul Society or Human World. There was just one big world and everyone in that world was eternal. But at some point the Soul King decided to divide this world into 3 separate worlds, bringing death and limits to life itself, which is what Yhwach is questioning why he did it because that only brought death and pain to everyone. And regarding that last question of what is the purpose of life that Yhwach and Aizen were trying to find out (no spoilers of course), its going to be answered so don’t worry, stay tuned until the end!

Jin Jusuke

I find it funny how Yhwach literally spells out his relation to Soul King, and you somehow misinterpreted it completely. Kaien told Rukia and us that if a Shinigami dies, their soul bodies break down into Reishi and become the soil of Soul Society.

Few notes ya'll. Oh boy that meeting went over all of our heads the first time watching as it was new to us manga readers too. This was not in the manga but it is canon. Devi is on point. To answer your question, I can't say much right now about what Ichibe did to Yuha's eyes but this takes place before Yuha invaded Seireitei and got wrecked by Yamamoto and gang. The way you can verify is if you go back to the opening flashback scene of episode 7, as the OG Gotei kills all those Quincy there's a brief moment showing a Quincy named "Seylidtz" being engulfed in Yama's flames as he dies. He was also one of the corpse Yama raised up in his bankai south technique. Well in this episode Seylidtz is standing in the background with the other 3 Quincy during the meeting. He is the guy wearing an eye patch. Therefore, the fact that he is alive here means this meeting took place before Yuha invaded the Seireitei. When Yuha said "my father" the first time I don't think you guys noticed that was the first reveal of Yuha acknowledging Soul King as his father. You guys noticed the second time when Yuha finally clarified after the meeting ended and said "Soul King, my father." I'm glad you guys watched it back in post discussion. When Yuha grabbed Ichibe's hand and said "Do you think you can kill me with that hand? My father's hand is nothing more than a sacrifice to his child. It can give life but cannot take away." That was the first reveal but the reason why not everyone got it despite him literally saying "my father's hand" is because 1: Some got confused and prematurely reacted and thought he was calling Ichibe his father since he was addressing Ichibe's physical arm. 2: People forgot the Oken is Ichibe's body. His bones, his hands, his whole being is modified by the soul king's power. Essentially Ichibe had the Soul Kings left arm, which he "gave" to Yuha by doing the thing to Yuha's eyes (Cannot talk about yet) and stated "Do you think I'll give you the left arm of Soul King for free?" It makes sense For Yuha to be the Soul King's son. As previously informed, Yhwach is inspired by the telegrammation YHWH; In other words "Yahweh" the name of God in the bible. Soul King is essentially God, while Yuha is Quincy Jesus. Father of all Quincy, and simultaneously son of God, father of all life. On a different note, good job remembering Askin's line about being "chosen". There will be more clarification about what it means to be chosen later. Ps, Senjumaru is mommy.

i still wonder why u never touch on the ending credits of episode 16, it will help u a lot for what happen in this episode

Volt

That last part is kind of spoilerly no? No need to say when

Volt

Another thing to note is that Yuha has also killed plenty of quincies not to mention other races of people on screen for like no reason at all so that's something else to keep in mind.

Oetsu's sword is legitimately a failure, a blade that's too sharp even to be placed in a scabbard is completely useless. It's just that in this one specific instance, it's useful. It's fundamentally an asauchi though; it's not necessarily his zanpakuto.

Nghi Nguyen

Yhwach is indeed the biological son of Soul King

Set

The sword is only useful in the one specific instance of cutting down enemies, so it's useless?

BP

*Sigh* Yes, Oetsu said it himself, that's why he couldn't send it down to the Soul Society. How would any shinigami be able to use it for anything if they can't even sheathe it. It would literally cut everything all the time. Unless that shinigami was carrying around that tank of water literally everywhere.

Man, Senjumaru is so cool, I just love the voice and way of speaking they picked for her in the anime. She has that quiet, slow and refined speech that makes her seem so enthralling to me, all the while aura farming on her enemies, it's difficult to put into words now that i try to write it down. Back when i read the manga, i had a hard time picking a favorite in Squad 0 because they are all pretty cool in my opinion, but ever since i heard Senjumaru speak in the anime my choice was made. I wonder who will be your favorite later down the line, or if you two already have a favorite in Squad 0 ? :)

I think living without life and death would make you feel like you felt watching episode 310

Venti Childe

Maybe they tought it was like when Yhwach called Ichigo his son. But still he would called soul king "our father" if it was the case

rryutie

22:00 ppl hype up the poems way too much imo. maybe im just a philistine but they're so generic and abstract. And I think it's a bad thing when they dont make sense to the majority of people that read them. great reaction as always!

rryutie

I'm caught up with the anime (not a manga reader) and I still have no idea what any of them mean, even on a rewatch with reactors. So I just can't be impressed with them. But again that's just me.

wileykat

Your problem is you think that because they don't make sense to you, that represents the majority of people, which is what you said originally

wileykat

There are comments on the outfit in the manga btw 🤣

Marcos

The poems are usually just intended to give either a tease or a little insight to the main character of the next chapter. For example, the episode with Unohana vs Kenpachi was simply Unohana saying "Battle is everything." It's not necessarily profound, but it's some added fun that calls back to the manga. (Because there's many more in the manga, one for every chapter, I think it adds up to a better understanding than the anime can provide with one per episode.)

rryutie

Buddy you don't have to be so aggressive/confrontational. It's okay. Not everyone will share your opinion. I brought it up because if you checked out 22:00 Devi is reacting in pretty much the same way I did to the poems & most other reactors. I'm just literally agreeing with her take and adding on to it that the majority of people read them the same way not knowing what they mean, and when I said that, I'm not making a blanketed statement. It's cause I have not seen a SINGLE reactor out of all of mainstream one's that reacted to TYBW, that interpreted a single one of those poems in any way beyond just like "oh cool, i wonder what that means, ok then episode's over". Like come on now.

JDanime

We usually just watch the openings and endings after we're caught up to avoid any spoilers to things that are coming up 😅

JDanime

True! The sword is too op... 🤣

JDanime

They're all SO cool 😭 Senjumaru such a baddie though

JDanime

Yeah most of them feel like it's missing some context... But it's still a cool addition to the episode :D
