yeah. Take Mayuri out of the equation and Quincies win in these invasions. Or at least Urahara has to deal with much more things which he has not the knowledge in certain areas or rather the obsession as Mayuri has. and therefore loses time to deal with other things which are equally important like the Bankai-regaining. Mayuri is the MVP of this arc.

A few notes ya'll. To answer your question. Yuha did not find the left arm. The answer lies back in ep 24 of cour 2. Please refer back to the meeting between Yuha and Osho and rewatch it on ep 24 now that you're here. Yuha was going to use his "Almighty" but then Ichibe sealed it away with the help of Pernidas, the soul king's left arm. You can actually see Pernidas appear and lash at Yuha before closing his fist as Yuha's Almighty disappears from his eyes. Ichibe states "Did you really think I would give you the soul king's left arm for free?" Pernidas is the soul king's left arm which represents advancement while the right arm Ukitake has represents stillness. Pernidas is an open hand while the right hand is a closed fist. Try to remember as much as you can from the meeting, who was there in the background, everything that was said etc because there are some more answers in there for future episodes. There's a lot that people miss in that meeting. A lot lol

You're a test subject of Mayuri regardless of squad. Remember, he has the blood of ALL members of the Gotei 13. Mayuri likely collected the reiatsu when Mimihagi came out. Chances are, Ukitake's reiatsu was pouring out all over the place when that happened, and so it wouldn't have been that hard for him to collect a sample. Also, remember when Senjumaru used her bankai, Pernidas got sucked into "black sand" well...Kurotsuchi's (Mayuri's last name) kanji is related to "blackening something", "black soil", but also "enlightenment".

Every sentence Mayuri utters has purpose. Constant yapping to antagonize and bore Kenpachi to the point he runs in head on, all for the purpose of understanding Pernida's abilities. One cannot afford to assume he's talking nonsense.

The Black Promontory

This episode makes me revisit Kyoraku's line of thinking that, "using evil to destroy evil is itself not an evil act". It seems that Mayuri would be something that fits under the umbrella of this philosophy... ...However, the Souls Society isn't just "using" Mayuri, they're "indulging" him. He has free reign to torture and mutilate innocent people for his own amusement. It's not like he's a prisoner that they allow out of the cell and let him do research while supervised. He has completely free reign, except now he can use his captaincy as a cover and rationalization for his evil. He's wacky, unique, and so so so entertaining to watch! An awesome character, making this episode pure PEAK for me... but he makes it impossible for me to "accept" the institution that is the Soul Society as "not evil", considering they actively and continuously benefit from their enabling of who is essentially a Nazi concentration camp war criminal "scientist".

Mayuri is like Orochimaru in that he is basically “Crimes Against Humanity the Series”. But Mayuri is worse. Notice there is no Quincy mad scientist? It’s because no one could be worse than this guy. 🤣
