DRAGON PRINCE YAY!

SauceyRed

First of all, you misunderstood the storm orb, it's NOT dark magic. As mentioned in episode 2, the storm in that orb is a real, actual storm, captured. It's sky magic, not dark magic. Also, a couple quotes from episode 1 that relate to what happens at the end of this episode: "Four full moons past, on the eve of the Winter's Turn, the humans crossed into Xadia and murdered the King of the Dragons. Then they destroyed his only egg, the Dragon Prince. [Wrapping a binding around his arm] Tonight we bind our lives to justice!" "When it is done, I will send a shadowhawk with a blood ribbon message to the Queen of the Dragons." You should be able to piece it together with this episode from those two quotes.

this is my favorite show right now

David Johnson

The Elves bound themselves to their mission...literally. One binding was for the King, the other is for the Prince. And the King's binding is...no more. Honestly I'll give them all a pass for making "stupid decisions." Literally everybody in this episode is either pissed off, or stressed, or both at the same time. And that's *not* when you want to be making decisions. Take the King. He knows he is *going* to die. Sure, he's going to try not to, but he knows it's impossible to stop. And Viren offers him an out that he is too principled to take, but at the same time, honestly, he probably wants to. Then he comes back and (badly bungles) tries to offer *again*. Yes with him as the person to switch with this time, but he never gets to that point because from Harrow's viewpoint he's just coming to tempt him again. So he gets pissed - at exactly the wrong time - and does that whole "you're a servant" speech, which pisses off *Viren.*

Something that always makes me laugh is that later in the show Viren is revealed to be a powerful dark wizard but in the assassination he's just standing around doing nothing.

It is one of the worst tropes in any show. "I'm angry so I'm going to make the stupidest decision possible!" I think if Harrow had heard Viren out, they at least could have been side-by-side for the battle. The same for Callum confronting Viren. He could have gotten the word straight from Harrow about the egg. Instead, he leaves with Viren's word alone, that Harrow knew about the egg. For the record, I don't remember if Harrow actually knew, or if Viren is lying. Rayla does have a pithy sense if humor. Kinda sassy and sarcastic. It comes out more as her character develops. Correct with the Dark Magic incantation. All that you'll hear in this show are spoken backwards. I'm sure you've already reversed it to understand it by now, but the silence spell in this episode was "Steal the voice". The shadow wolves spell isn't on the list I have.

KarposOverloading

He supposedly has the two headed soulfang serpent too, it’s not like his “ingredients” are out of reach

CarcosanTimeshare

I believe this is what some people call "a spoiler", and it's generally considered bad manners to post them.

Eliteguard99

Or he could have got some "ingredients" before night fall from his lab in preparation for this night, since it's revealed later that he has quite a lot.

Eliteguard99

I like how like 90% of the Dark Magic spells are just straight up plagiarized from Dungeons and Dragons lmao.

Eliteguard99

"Under a full moon the moonshadow elves are unstoppable!" then they barely succeed in their mission lol.

David Johnson

They fought against an entire army...one person down (indeed, one person actually fighting *against* them)...and succeeded. That sounds pretty unstoppable to me.

Mitch

Fun fact, one of the writers on this show said that the standard sexuality in this world is bisexual, so every character is bi unless is confirmed as otherwise

Eliteguard99

How? he's already a dark wizard and the narrative is gearing up for him to be the obvious villain? It's barely a spoiler, if at all considering how completely predictable the narrative in this show is.

Bug Catcher Jacky

"Callum, where are you?!" After they established he's in the tower. :')
