Going to watch it at lunch. Had a feeling the Password might be along those lines...

Ryan

I look forward to seeing what got the bigger reaction from you: the queens, or everyone refusing to go along with Viren's bullshit.

DaiQuan Moss

Just watched your girlfriends reaction to Steven Universe now I'm interested to see your reaction at some point

David Johnson

I understand Callum's feelings on reading that letter perfectly. For nine years now, I've had the final "Discworld series" book "The Shepherd's Crown" sitting on my shelf, unread, because once I read it, there will be no more new Discworld, no more new Terry Pratchett, ever, and I just can't bring myself to deal with that.

Nightowl

Finally some queer representation! It almost seems like they left it out of the first season to make the show an easier sell. The last drawing is probably of the prince who doesn’t want to eat his vegetables.

Flufux

That last drawing was of that one king's 19-year old son who still complains about eating his vegetables that he mentioned. Also, did you notice that Amaya didn't have her scar yet? Oh, and when Harrow made a certain gesture with his hand in one scene, he accidentally made the sign language gesture of 'up your ass', and that is what Amaya found so funny.

I knew that Elijah was gonna love every female character on this show and with each reaction, I was proven more than right! 🤩🌈💜

Brett

Elijah you will get your villain in time.

Aineyn

Since we get introduced to the other kings and queens this episode, I wanna say: Kinda wish we got more of the human kingdoms in this show, overall. They get a mention once in a while, some character introductions (like right now for instance), but generally, it seems like we get a lot more from the 6 elven people than the 5 human kingdoms. Would be nice to get both...

Phoenix_mercury

Any chance you remember what episode we really get more of *that* character? Makes viren more tolerable when theirs a distraction 🤣

sydney!

Hey Elijah, this is for you. When you said "I still think he's in the bird" well the theory was later debunked by creator Justin Richmond at San Diego Comic Con 2019, when Harrow was confirmed to be dead. So the idea was scrapped, so unfortunately harrow did officially die.

Ryan

Elijah: "I want more gay shit!" Writers: "As you wish..." Anex, put in a picture of Mosco, young Eda, Vi, Posion Ivy, Officer Haught... all the redheads she's /doesn't/ have a thing for. Did I miss any? ---- It sometimes feels like all stories come down to some variation of the Trolly Problem. Kill one magma titan, or let one hundred thousand people starve. I think the ratio at which one would be willing to pull the metaphorical lever is different for every person, from a life for a life, to a life for a quadrant. It is noteworthy that they juxtapose his speech about Lady Justice's blindfold, and a fair system, with his willingness to kill the titan for its powers. I sometimes joke that you can summarize Christianity as follows: Jesus: "Love they neighbor as you love thyself." People: "But what if..." Jesus: "Did I fucking stutter?" And, unfortunately, the line between neighbor and stranger is different for every person, too... and for King Harrow, that line is the border with Xadia.

Kaykic

That look on Sarai's face about the dream...King Harrow, your wife is clearly bisexual. If you did not have a smexy dream about Lady Justice MAKE ONE UP!!! -Me. Everytime I see that scene.

Catradora fan

I love Elijah's shirt 🤣😍 I've seen one with Snorlax 😂

Brett

Not on top of my head.

Daniel Drew

I forgot so much is revealed in this ep. I can't wait for you to see more!! XD

LikeCat

More in ep 5 and/or 6. And really getting into in next season and onwards.

Joey Quixote

Right. Translation. Again, this is coming from redemptiionss on Tumblr who actually is fluent in ASL. - THE PREPARATION SCENE BEFORE GOING TO KILL THE MAGMA TITAN  [Amaya nudges Sarai] “Haha that’s signing, get it?” [Sarai laughs in response]  "This is in reference to Harrow’s hand gestures. Harrow is not using sign language, but Amaya was making the joke to Sarai that Harrow was “signing” because he was gesturing a lot, & perhaps also bc sometimes hand gestures can be mistaken for sign language."

jessie H

We need a Viren hate counter.

Joey Quixote

The daughter of two mothers. More mature than anyone in the Pentarchy. Savages Viren on sight. We knew you'd love Queen Aanya. You got her, the Queens of Duren, and Sarai all in one episode. All amazing. I'm glad you're loving the representation. Not just for the first confirmed non-straight relationship, but for badass female characters as well. And (sigh) yes, you'll be seeing your Sunfire Elf again. She has another appearance or two. Maybe more.

Álex Martínez

I wouldn't say that they went after the titan “for no reason”, they were trying to save 100k people from starving to death, so they did have a good reason. Also they couldn't ask for help because humans aren't allowed in Xadia, and if they tried to go there for any reason they'd just be killed on the spot by the king of the dragons, so they were running out of options and didn't really have much of a choice; that doesn't mean it's a good thing necessarily, but a bad thing that stops an even worse one from happening

ARogueMaiasaura

Oh man I can't wait for your reaction to the next episode! XD

RavenFairy

Hay I just joined your patreon and love how you call out crap thanks, I do suggest you check out the sign language translation they do have those on YouTube that translated moments that Amia have no translator on the show. Amia did do a sex joke in the episode about the king’s aim lol

Animegirl

Loved the cute unicorn shorts. Twice you called him soran, lol. Soran is a man compared to that whiny little b that is his father. I did hear anything about a banana, but if your mom said it, it must be funny and or cute. Shout out to your awesome mom!!

Miranda Corvus

As much as I dont like Viren, and I REALLY don't like Viren, the only reason he is going after the Magma Titan is to save Katolis people from a mess Harrow caused. His heart was in the right place, but as king, the lives of his people are entrusted to him. "We will share in their suffering" rings hollow when its not his own family that'll fall to the famine

Jasmine King

This is a pretty important point imho. In the past, Harrow found it easy* to care about fairness for humans, but lacks the vision/awareness to acknowledge the personhood of elves and other creatures. I think at some point he began to waver from the ideas he once shared with Viren. He loves that man, but they are no longer in synch once we meet them in season 1.

Rafael Navarro

Elijah all I'm going to say is you're going to be eating good this is one of my favorite shows but Netflix has on their platform

ohmilla

I just found this video and it doesn't seem to be confirmed at all. He didn't really answer, barely said two words actually. To me his face said it all - they probably didn't expect people to pick up on it, thinking it would be a big plot twist.

TW: Self Harm/Parental Trauma/drug use Hey Elijah, as a Patreon for a while and a fan for a lot longer I just first want to say I love your content and it has gotten me through a lot of hard times. Especially any content with you and your wonderful girlfriend (who I am also subscribed to on Patreon.) That being said I do want to bring up one thing. Last episode you made a comment about Viren cutting himself. Which as someone who has dealt with self harm in the past honestly really didn’t bug me. Honestly your hatred of him is justified and while he is a more nuanced character than you’ve currently seen my issues doesn’t really involve him at all. I am a transfem individual though I identify as nonbinary/genderfluid. And through the years of finding myself I had one person who supported me and that was my dad. My dad is actually pretty awesome. My mom was to put it nicely not a good person, she had problems with substance abuse and was extremely homophobic, and transphobic and used religion to justify her horrible beliefs. When I was sixteen my dad suffered a back injury that left him nearly paralyzed and instead of “Till death do us part” my mom abandoned my father and I. Looking back at it though she was never really there for me or my dad. SO sorry for the long setup but my point is, when you said “No wonder why Queen Aanya turned out so wise and good” it honestly stung same with your comment on “Men just want to fight.” I obviously don’t know where you’re coming from but I feel like your view on men is extremely negative almost to the point of toxicity. It almost feels like you can’t see any men in a positive light, (except for children characters) and I am very aware that a LOT of men in society are shitty but not all of them are. My dad who is currently going through Alzheimer's was drafted into Vietnam, he didn’t agree with the war but instead of dodging the draft he became a paramedic. He figured if he was forced into war he wanted to save lives and not take them. Then when he returned home to people who called him a baby killer and a warmonger he was so disheartened he started his own ambulance company, he served as a paramedic and a firefighter for thirty three more years. Some nights I still think about all the people still walking around on this earth because of him.m, yet how humble he is about it all. I just wanted to share his story so that you know not all men are bad. I feel like media always portrays men as stupid, angry, evil people. But when I came out to my dad he was so kind and accepting. So it’s just a little rough for someone whose reactions I rely on to get me through hard times and to hear so much distain for someone simply for their gender. I don’t mind you hating on shitty people but to be so negative to a gender entirely regardless of their actions is hard to watch. I’ll continue to watch and support you because I believe you are a good person and a great content creator and far be it for me to tell you to change your views and opinions but if you could just consider what you say a bit more and how it effects others. Not all wounds are as visibly as I cut wrist. ❤️

Bug Catcher Jacky

I totally get what you mean. I love Elijah a lot, but I do think sometimes her comments come off a bit as... sexist (?) towards men. At the end of the day, shitty people are shitty people regardless of their gender and putting anyone in a stereotype box is just hurtful.

StorytellerDave

"A better solution that doesn't require killing something" - If only that were an option, but as things stood, it was 100000 people for the life of one person. It's a greater good/lesser of two evils argument. It's easy to just say, well, find a better solution, but if there is none, then what do you do? Do you just let a hundred thousand people die? I doubt it's the king and his family that'll starve in the winter too. He speaks about inequalities, but he lives a posh asf life in his castle, with none of the worries of the peasants. It's more than a bit hypocritical, even though he was on the right path questioning why he has all the privilege of a crown. I think Viren wasn't wrong or badly intentioned, he genuinely wanted to do what was best for the Kingdom he served, but it does come back and bite them all in the backside. Still, if I were the king, I'd find it hard to say no to him and just let thousands of people starve while sitting in the comfort of my own castle knowing I won't be the one to suffer the consequences of MY decision. "So you decided to kill something to get something. So you're just shitty" - It's not exactly unheard of for humans to kill something to be able to feed people. We kinda all do that, I mean unless you're vegan I guess, but that's not much of an option in Medieval times. I don't know how many animals you'd have to slaughter to feed 100000 people, but I am guess it's more than 1.

song sl

I also get what you’re saying.. I love Elijah’s reactions and I support her for a long time now, but yeah I also feel like sometimes it seems like she just doesn’t like men (?).. like, female characters did really shitty things but that’s ok because they’re female/women.. judging or forgiving someone and their actions just because of their gender is not ok.. Anyways about Viren, he’s a complex character in my opinion. I don’t justify him or anything but if you look closely you’ll see that not everything he does is bad or for a selfish/bad reason (like how he wants to kill the magma titan to save people from starving to death). Again, I don’t like or justify him, I’m just pointing out facts.. Regardless thanks for sharing your story and I hope you’re doing well

StorytellerDave

Honestly if she hates him this much now, when he's arguably at his grey-est, I wonder how she'll react the further she gets.

jessie H

That’s why we need a counter, or a compilation of Elijah just going off on him.
