When I catch you, Jayce, when I catch you...!

aez

TEARS

Bazil

Haven't seen the reaction so no idea if Elijah brings this up, but notice how when Vi spits on Cait, instead of wiping it away, Cait wipes it towards her mouth

Kisuke01

YES ALSO FUCK JAYCE ALSO why did they do this to us they reconciled again only to break apart again shit is just like episode 6 of last season

Rainbow Moth

Isha's name means "to protect." That's what she did.

Rainbow Moth

"Ever since you dropped into my life, it's like I put on glasses."

Sneep

One of the reasons I think they should have done Noxus or another region first. Is that a lot of new people to the lore don't realise that magic isn't uncommon in the League world. Piltover and Demacia are the only two countries on the planet that hate actual mages. Piltover was originally founded as a group of people who wanted to escape mages' danger, and replaced the need for them with science. Outside of these places, mages and magic are found in abundance, similar to DnD.

DarkGodHao

I'm here for the waterworks

Rainbow Moth

It's extra sus when we realize that they staged the tension for Ambessa's convincing.

Bazil

Vi live reaction to Cait telling her why its so crucial to their plan that she spits on her: 🗿

Bailey

Actually evil of them to leave us off on THAT. I know things weren't going to stay awesome and good because it's only act 2, but still. This counts as a crime against humanity, I think. Poor Isha... ;n;

DarkGodHao

I just want to state for the record, the irony Jinx fires a single shot that brings chaos into Piltover, Jace comes down to Zaun and literally returns the exact same thing back on them

Jenna

I'm of the opinion that Jayce was actually right! Not that I wanted Vander, Isha, and (possibly) Viktor to die... but I think Jayce was correct that there was something DEEPLY wrong with this whole situation. Like in what world is a cult commune "utopia" that purifies people into a hivemind, all connected to a single lifeforce, ever the "right" thing? It screams creepy and messed up, with something more sinister at play. I don't blame Viktor either, but I think Jayce saw something in his visions that opened his eyes to it. Or he's absolutely tripping and I'm totally wrong lol. Either way, it hurts that we lost Vander :(

Bazil

I don't know if this was intentional but one meaning of Mongoose is A person who flirts with as many people as possible, and then rejects those who inevitably fall in love. Stems from an unhealthy low self-esteem, as they want to feel loved by as many people as possible, regardless of whether or not they actually like said people. Which is hilarious

Kisuke01

Are Jinx and Vi like fan favorites cause idk shit about LoL lore I only know of the game the most I've gotten of Jinx is literally Arcane and 2XKO

EDWin qaz

First, i dont think ambessa loved rictus im guessing for me its more like he was her most loyal soldier and yeah i would be mad too if my right-hand man died, and second jayce was seeing what heimerdinger saw when viktor and jayce showed him the hexcore back in s1 and he said he wanted it to be destroyed and im guessing jayce also saw it as a threat.

Kexmi

I know this fandom looks for any reason to hate Jayce, but if you actually pay attention to the show, he did the right thing. Also, to just assume that Jayce is evil and Victor is good seems like the writers taking advantage of the irrational hate Jayce has received since the 2nd act of season 1. Victor wanting to help people doesn't mean that he's actually helping.

Sneep

I think Jinx is a lot more popular in League than Vi is, and I think Warwick is about equal to Jinx if not higher. But yeah, they're some of the big fan favourites, at least within the Top 25. And a LOT of people wanted the lore on the whole dynamic between the Piltover and Zaun champs. I just still think they should have chosen a different region because Piltover is so isolated and ignorant compared to the rest of the League world.

.

Definitely.

.

Jayce definitely saw something. Of course, he wasn't acting like himself but he seems deeply shaken by something, and he was right to put a stop to Viktor.

Moonlight Mariposa

Honestly, I'm really curious to see Jayce again. I don't think he wanted to kill Viktor, it seems more like the person he is now is like, almost an amalgamation of several version of him all vying for control - his uncoordinated movement, his sharp switches between personality - and that the true Jayce is slipping in through the cracks - him refusing to hurt the boy and freaking out and trying to stop himself from killing Viktor

.

Isha's name means “one who protects”. So I was sure she would sacrifice herself in some way.

Jake

Now Jinx knows why Vi didnt want Powder coming to help all those years ago :(

Yuld

If u translate the song at the end it hurts more 🥲

.

I wouldn't say they are necessarily favorites, there are so many champions...but I think the potential for a story with the tension and dynamic between Vi, Jinx and Caitlyn in the game probably gave a lot of ideas. I also believe that the producers wanted to bring Zaun to life more than anything.

CodyG24

Isha did exactly what Powder did in Ep 3 of season 1 Powder put 3 Hextech things in her monkey bomb 😭

Levente Nagy

Ekko save us and the family please 🙏

Deynix

NGL, I saw the thumbnail and was afraid to press play. You’re right, though: red does look good on Cait. Much better than orange. 😛

Bazil

Jinx is basically League's mascot

Blair B

I'm still in denial that Ishas is not dead 🥲

Athena

I remember after this episode me and my friend were just sitting on separate ends of her couch in stunned silence idt we talked for a solid minute ngl. I am so sad, but so intrigued after this episode. Wherever the show ends is hopefully going to wrap up all of our questions, but I'm so scared at how it'll all turn out.

Shio no Kami

In the game? Jinx has been a somewhat popular character during the years, Vi not so much. As for the lore, they were not favorites before or even particularly interesting, since the world it's placed has a lot more exciting and fantastical places/stories, like Lei mentioned. That said, they likely chose Piltover/Zaun with the story of Jinx and Vi to have a more down to earth setup, when it comes to the characters. And they created this absolute beauty.

Kyle Hennett

Jayce didn’t turn Vander back into a monster, it was Singed with the formula he had. Elijah, you are right about One of Duo of Jayce and Viktor being light and Dark but have it backwards.

LikeCat

Yes please. Two things: Great profile pic, and nice to see other hungarian in here. (I know mine isn't, but I'm usually online with my other account for commenting and such)

Ryan

"I am a bit nervous" Poor Elijah, she has no idea what's coming. Veejus! "Don't sugar coat it, cupcake." Poor Elijah, she forgot what happened there was Sapphic cuteness. Yes, Amanda was buttering us up... to make it hurt more. And that's just the end of act two. What more could they possibly do to us in act three? Haven't we suffered enough?

.

I think he essentially saw the future, and recognized that Heimerdinger was right all along, and he has to destroy what he's created.

ItsSimmeRin

So when Vi calls Cait cupcake again Cait tears up and blinks it away as she stands up

Saiyasha

I'm personally gloing with Jesor (For Jesus Victor) And uh, yeah. I think we should be used to Arcane ripping our hearts apart by now, but, uh, apparently not.

Hyrule Postman

Alright, here we go. You can do this me, it's the fifth time you go through it, surely you won't end up a sobbing mess on the floor this time. Right?

jessie H

I want to believe, as delusional and unlikely as it is that Vander threw her out of the way at the last second. Like right before it explodes, he has a moment of clarity and just threw Isha outta the way, so she isn’t dead, just probably hurt. Gosh this season is nothing but pain! Poor Jinx

Kisuke01

Yeah I was just asking cause I found what they said interesting

Ashlie Harper

for the last 5 mins of this ep i was sobbing and screaming into a pillow

300 sc

I think maybe Jayce saw sth horrible in the arcane thing and he must kill viktor , in the last part of epi5 Salo was empty in Jayce's eyes, so I think arcane is controlling people and turning them into puppets. If things goes wrong, Ryze probably gonna head to piltover and kill everybody thats been affected by a wild runes anyways. Oh and btw, I think viktor will now turn in to his final form, and lead its "glorious revolution" , maybe he's the final villain?

Final Fighter

I don’t know if anyone mentioned it last episode, but the moment Jayce comes back and speaks to Salo, you can clearly see fog forming whenever Jayce breathes and they focus on it quite a bit. With Salo, however, no fog. No breathing. The people Victor “fixed” essentially become husks with their original personality completely erased. And when the husks die, it's like puppets falling when the puppeteer is no longer active.

Martin E Melcher

I think what Joyce experienced wasn't from the Arcane, but the Void. Also, I don't think that Singe's daughter is Lux, but Oriana. Just me theories

LikeCat

I feel like its not just that Viktor was the puppeteer in this (which he very much was, I don't know if he was aware of it tho), but also he was a puppet to the Arcane (?), but I don't think he realized it, like at all.

Final Fighter

I should've clarified that. I think you're absolutely correct.

Peluche

if you notice in the clips of Isha and Jinx you see Jinx's eyes flash between blue and shimmer pink :( her eyes also flash blue when she's screaming "no" ;-; it's such a devastating detail

Valerie

DID ANYONE NOTICE THE LAST 5 seconds of the explosion it STOPPED and then just blacked out?!! IS THIS HOW EKKO COMES BACK IN?!! Is this Ekko getting his time piece?!!!??

Half Eaten

Jinx is very popular as a character. Before Arcane not the most popular but near the top. Tho they’ve been working on arcane for so long, that maybe part of the push for Jinx in the years before arcane was influenced by Arcane being worked on. The rest of the cast is on the popular side, but not specially so. I do think the relative lack of magic is why they chose piltover and zaun, I think low fantasy/steampunk is an easier introduction to the world than like Ionia or Noxus.

Half Eaten

I saw someone mention it might be a loop. They show the gear Viktor is holding spinning and falling several and every time it’s different. I personally doubt we’re going to see Ekko change the outcome of this. If undone it’ll make episode 6 feel terrible in hindsight. It’s not too bad now cause we have to wait a week between episodes. But imagine binging it for the first time in a few weeks and you go from this incredibly emotional scene to it being undone right away.

Naki (jokecaes)

isha is an indian name and it means "one who protects"

Echo

The void is in like all league lore so it would be *shocking* if it wasn't in arcane as well and would have a big impact. That would make a lot of sense, when he sees the different versions of the people, they look a lot like void borne creatures as well.

Martin E Melcher

That's my thinking as well. Also, could it be that Mel is an incarnation of Karma? Idk there's similarities is all I'm seeing. Could just be a crackpot

Vivian

I don't know whether to be happy or sad about the fact that Isha probably won't become a voice in Jinx's head because she was nonverbal 🥲

.

Ekko can only ult himself tho...

.

Karma is from Ionia tho. If anything, Mel is related to Solari, or Shurima in some type of way. If you watch the music video called 'Blood Sweat and Tears', you see Ambessa live through different trials, what made her the way she is. In that video, you see Pantheon (who people theorize is Mel's father). I'm personally not sure he is her father cause Mel is so much smaller than Ambessa, so i don't believe her father would be even bigger than her mother. Plus, Ambessa seems to like smaller men as shown in the first season when she tasted 'local cuisine'.

Martin E Melcher

Honestly part of why I thought she was helping out the crippled Draco Malfoy character (I forgot his name off the top of my head) but the manipulation makes alot more sense. I'll look I to that video though. I just wondered since Karma's lore says something about her incarnating into the world or something like that (my memory is crap atm idk why)

.

Honestly, if you're right about Rictus, holy shit what a call.

Syrelis

Yup, that hurt…..

Peluche

Rictus being the person Ambessa loves is also my my guess!! It'd be so interesting if that ends up being the case. Poor Mel though, she might find out right as she lost him :,0

Cody Saxe

The minute Isha showed up in episode 2 I thought “oh she’s too precious to be around for long”

Max

Oh boy! Is it that time of week for emotional damage?!?!

AJ

Or was Ambessa just pissed that Cait betrayed her?

Zemajick

Yeah... that thumbnail tracks...

LikeCat

I think that it was both to some degree. (My first thought after watching that episode was that it is because of Cait's betral)

NamelessSoul

First off, this is my second time watching now and it did not get any easier. This episode is so beautiful but so so heartbreaking. Like why fuck with the family we just got back! I'm just gonna live in denial till ACT 3 confirms anything (and then probably still then cause I can NOT)

Annieme

Jayce is 2/2 for accidentally being the cause of a child dying in arcane 🫠😭 /j

Kexmi

False

Smaug

Before Elijah pointed it out, I already suspected that Rictus was the one Ambessa fell in love with. This idea came to me after she mentioned the fourth principle of combat being sacrifice and said that Caitlyn shouldn’t be distracted by someone she loves. I think Ambessa sacrificed her personal love for her ambition and goals, which is why she made Rictus her right hand, shifting their relationship from lovers to comrades to stay focused. Rictus’s magic also seems to counter Black Rose’s power. He broke free from Amara’s spell to save Ambessa, which makes me wonder if his magic is somehow linked to Black Rose. Of course I might be wrong. Can’t wait to see the reveal!

Half Eaten

There is another league character that uses a noxian Runic weapon, Riven. She’s not a mage herself, the person that enchanted her blade is (and imo it’s probably the “witch” hunting Ambessa). It does seem like Rictus might be able to do the enchantments and runes himself, so he could be a mage that wields a runic weapon. The one thing for me is that Rictus seems too young to be Mel’s and the witch’s dad.

silverarrow06

That was my first thought, too. But now that Elijah mentioned it, it makes absolute sense and would explain the look Rictus gave Ambessa when she talked about "we are kin". The only things I see that doesn't fit that theory, was episode 2x4 or 2x5, when Ambessa said: "They have my daughter" 🤔 Wouldn't it be more likely that she would have said "our" daughter? And Rictus looks too young to be Mels father. He would have been in his 50ies by now. Not imossible, but unlikely...🙂🤔

silverarrow06

Viktor got weaker not only because of Vanders treatment, also because he got no new hextech to re-load. The one sent out to get more, was killed by Jayce. And only people with access to the hexgate can get it for him, that's why the former councillor got sent. And that taking of the hextech batteries was probably what caused Jayces return. My guess is, Jayce is the wild rune, or somehow sent by the wild rune, to save the Arcane from the abuse through hextech...🤔🙂 So Jayce fullfilled his promise to Viktor and destroyed the hexcore. If time works differently in the anomaly, Jayce might have seen what its evolution would lead to. Maybe it was even another version of Viktor that sent him back there to stop him? That could explain the "I won't fail" he is permanently muttering to amp himself up to do something he really doesn't want to, but has to. 🤔 This commune was very sus for me, too culty. And they weren't really healed, they where turned into hollow vessels that were bound to and remotely controlled by Viktor. Or better by the hexcore (looking like Sky) through him. It could have taken the form of Sky to control what is left of Viktor inside him? Lets him do work for seemingly good, while trying to evolve further and "overcome" humanity as a whole...🤔 Oh, oh, oh...! The mask in the intro, this could mean there is not much left of old Viktor and the hextech hides behind the mask of Viktors face...😱😅 The doctor saw that and he admires evolution to overcome death the most, that's why he is willing to help Viktor to survive...🤔 I'm so excited to see, if any of this turns out to be correct...😱😄🙈 I was so happy that Cait and Vi were back and that Cait will be off Jinx' back, now that she saved her life and she saw Vis whole family in a different light...😊😍 Oh yes, the cupcake moment, so great. That word and the person who said it cut right through all the walls she build to protect herself (Walls, that Maddie wasn't able to get through, btw. 😉😊). Right into her heart, that was already filled with doubts if she's doing the right thing here...😍 And I love that Caitlyn uses the exact same combo of moves to bring Vi down, Ambessa shortly before taught her...🤩 That gives me another thought. Could the people that think Maddie is sus be right? Ambessa said to Vi somthing like "You left a void in Caitlyns heart I was able to fill". Perhaps she meant she placed Maddie in Caits bed, to distract her from Vi and focus her on Jinx. That mustn't necessarily mean Maddie is bad, she could easily be manipulated into that situation just like Caitlyn. Ambessa already showed that she can put other peoples emotions to her use. Only Maddie turned out to work against her, persuading Caitlyn to let go of her vengeance and seek negotiations with the undercity...🤔 Or she is indeed a spy of the black rose and works against Ambessa to prevent her from using hextech...🤔 Until we learn more, that girl remains a mystery...😅 Vander dying was a co-production of Viktor, planting hextech (the marks on the forehead), Jayce killing Viktor (and all that was created with his power) and the doc who injected his new serum into Vander at the last minute...🤔 I think neither hextech-Viktor nor the doc were really interested in healing Vander, it felt more like a battle for control over Vander. Even if Viktor would have succeeded, he wouldn't have let Vander go. 🤔 And of course I won't talk about Isha, because I still can't, I simply can't...😭💔🙈 F*** it, I have to. This insane, strong, brave, fearless (like only children this age can be), adorable, most lovable character ever written - that tried to save everyone (including an incredibly suffering Vander), by pulling the overload trigger and sacrificing herself...💖💖💔😭🙈

Liam Gradwell

All I can say is that Act 3 is gonna hit us hard. If that’s how they end Act 2, I am beyond frightened. Just what do you have for us next Amanda?! How does this end?!😭💔💙🌈

Suplee215

Honestly good move by Isha to pocket the hex tech power balls from Vi's weapons. Clearly did it for the same reason Jinx took hers out. Dumb on Vi to leave powered up hex tech around. Of course answers a question I had since seeing the episode because I didn't notice that.

Suplee215

An aspect of this episode that isn't being talked about enough is that caitlyn got a chance to save a parent who was taken too soon. It's beautiful to storytelling. That's why I think she was willing to work with Jinx. Both caitlyn and vi know what it's like to lose a parent and what they'll do to save theirs if they ever got a chance.

Eliteguard99

I'm no parent, but I know I would never recover if my child was taken from me.

Alexis Ẽ

I get what you’re saying but let’s be honest, Isha would’ve still shot the gun regardless cause there was still one hex tech ball in the gun.

Suplee215

? I'm talking about just disarming the weapon before leaving it where it can easily be taking. I am not talking aboutnthe final scene where it does lead to her death. And sure she still would have fired the gun but it wouldn't have exploded. That only happens with multiple her tech cores like in season 1 episode 3

Phoenix_mercury

That reminded me of a thing I heard a while ago, theirs a word for a child losing a parent(orphan) but theirs no word for a parent losing a child because no word is enough...

Jittercritter

About the relationship between Felicia, Vander, and Silco, I think they were a found family a lot like Milo and Claggor were Vi and Powder’s brothers without actually being related. Considering how dire and dismal life in the Undercity can be, I’m willing to bet families made up of unrelated people is very common. Vander does say Silco was his brother in s1, so it adds up. I think they’re more likely to be ‘siblings’ than a throuple or pining or anything

C O 2

That’s an interesting take, but I don’t think it’s that deep—mostly because it doesn’t really fit Cait’s character. I’ve seen people link mongoose vs. snake to Cait vs Ambessa too, but honestly, it feels more like playful teasing/flirting, kind of like 'cupcake.' Sure, Cait is sweet (and it’s fun to keep the in-game reference😂), but we all know her personality is way more than just 'sweet.' Plus, her serious vibe does match a standing mongoose’s look—really cute, though!

Luke Verseput

That is an awesome consideration, since the loss of a parent is now common ground between them, but I don't actually think Caitlyn knew that Jinx would be there. Vi's voiceover that says "Vander's in trouble. I have a plan, you're not going to like it" had to be directed towards Jinx, since she never mentioned "Vander" to Cait. Only "my dad." The voiceover happened while showing Jinx's role in the plan. And then Caitlyn's reaction of "You!" after Rictus gets thrown out, and further look of surprise when Vi came in with her rifle, indicated to me that Cait was kept in the dark about Jinx being there. That was my read on it, anyway. I think Jinx was told about covering Cait, hence "You're not going to like it" but I think Cait was only told about "the beast" or however Vi put it to her, not about Jinx.

Suplee215

That assumes there was time between caitlyn and vi meeting up where vi told jinx about the plan. The timeline for that doesn't seem to work for me. I took the jinx shot during the voice over being a way to let the audience know. Inassune caitlyn knows of Vander from talks to vi off camera. Either way caitlyn saw jinx and didn't instantly attack her do whether she knew about Jinx being there for backup or not she was willing to do so to save Vi's dad.

Luke Verseput

For sure. What happens off-camera is a mystery. I think Vi may have gone back and told Jinx about the plan, but that's just me speculating. Either way, I can't wait to see how it all turns out!

C O 2

Elijah’s reactions and analysis are always great, but I wanted to share a slightly different take—especially on Ambessa and Rictus’s dynamic and her relationship with Cait. I don’t think these questions will be fully addressed in Act 3, so here’s my perspective: I agree with others that Ambessa’s feelings toward Rictus were more about trust and loyalty than romantic love. From the start, he felt like her reliable, trusted right-hand man. His loyalty was clear, and Ambessa heavily relied on him. The “we are kin” line made me think more about Ambessa and Cait. It felt like Ambessa genuinely put effort into mentoring Cait, even if it served her own goals. This likely caught Rictus’s attention—especially when he said, “Ambessa believed in you, your death will be a deep cut.” It really highlighted how much he noticed Ambessa’s trust in Cait and made his loss hit her even harder. Rictus seemed younger compared to someone like Mel’s father, who likely had innate magical abilities. Rictus, on the other hand, seemed to rely on “external powers.” (I’m not fully familiar with the lore, so just my take here.) That scene where the camera shifts to Ambessa after Cait’s shock and Rictus’s death? To me, it showed her layered emotions—grief, anger, and frustration. She lost a trusted ally while also feeling betrayed by Cait, someone she’d invested in. Her quick shift from sorrow to rage felt natural in that moment. Lastly, I don’t think Ambessa’s relationship with Cait was purely manipulative. Maybe it came from losing Mel or seeing a reflection of herself in Cait. While her intentions were self-serving, it felt like she genuinely wanted Cait to embody traits she valued—coldness, ambition, and strength. It’s similar to how Silco viewed Jinx: manipulative, sure, but also believing in her potential through his lens. Ambessa might’ve seen Cait’s ruthless side as a strength, something that tied them together as “kin.”

SauceyRed

I also took it as Vi going back to tell Jinx about the plan

Suplee215

Fair. Seems very much a leap to ke as it doesn't seem like they were gone for that long and it's implied they were going straight to ambassa after caitlyn talked. Bot impossible. I just took that as telling caitlyn but showing jinx so the audience realizes it

SauceyRed

I definitely thought Ambessa's expression when she saw Cait was due to Cait being there and betraying her, but I agree with C O 2's take that it was due to a mix of seeing Cait there betraying her and seeing Rictus dead. Also I disagree with the theory that Ambessa was in love with Rictus (though not as Mel's father). Every moment and line they've had has felt more like Silco's relationship with Sevika, though a lot deeper and more friendly.

Randall Larck

I told my wife on the eve of this season's start, that I both longed for and seriously dreaded the onset of these episodes. I knew for a fact that I was going to both love and hate this. Some shows are like an emotional roller coaster, not this one, express elevator straight to hell. It's Friday evening now, and I'm already tensing up. I have a feeling that Jinx is not going to get any relief, and we are going to feel a whole hell of a lot worse than we did at the end of last season. But this is still the best example of any piece of media that I have experienced in all of my 63 years, bar none. Love your reactions, although I fear for your mental wellbeing when this all over, ass well as my own.

Randall Larck

Sorry, that's "as, not "ass", lol. BTW love my new Jinx coffee cup, thanks.

Anna Ewen!

i recommend that you skip reacting to episode 7 instead of 8 is the best episode of Arcane that I have evver seen and it will be yours if watch it too I still can't believe that the writers came up with it i can't wait for you to watch it!!!!

PickettsChargingPort

This episode broke me. The impact was even worse that episode 3 is season 1. Trying to avoid spoilers, here, but Jayce you’r a @#$@.

Catarina Moreira

Aaaaaaand i just joined patreon willing to watch her reactions beforehand , im dying to see her Act 3 reacts, so hyped, Always amazing content
