Less than a week after Elijah finishes season 3 (if the last episode isn't delayed) Critical Role will be at SDCC to talk about season 4 and the Mighty Nein animated series! Talk about perfect timing! XD

I really hope she films her reactions to whatever gets released that day! If it's trailers or intros or clips of certain scenes - anything would be stellar!

One thing I really love about the Vax and Vex vs. Ripley (and pirate crew) battle - other than the animators must have really liked animating two speedy characters going toe-to-toe (Vax with his Vestige and Ripley with hers) - is that when Vax is one on oneing Ripley and he is shot at and pinned to the wall and such, while it must HURT like Hell(s) he isn't ,,fighting it". Like he isn't actively tring to stay alive (He has a much bigger and stronger resolve than his instinct to stay alive - The Matron)... And thanks to THAT he can focus on disarming Ripley (pinning Cabal's Ruin - the cape - to the ground so she cannot ,,bamf" away) and stalling just enough time to make sure Vex gets the job done, whatever happens to him next... I don't know if that was intentional or not, but that is my headcanon anyway.

"I want an arrow straight through her heart...and one in her mouth as she screams" Killer line from the game that got executed incredibly well in animation. You don't have to hear Laura/Vex narrate it, you can FEEL it in the scene

18:00 - That's good ol' Matt Mercer as Orthax, one of the hundreds of voices he does in this show. 😂 18:25 - You may recall Ripley mentioning how Orthax claims the souls of those killed by the guns they made. Also right before Percy dies, you see the lights of the gun light up. This was a hint that Percy's soul was transferred to the gun Ripley is currently using. 20:20 - Ripley's end was FAR MORE gruesome in the original campaign. There she didnt escape after killing Percy as Scanlan trapped her with magic. Enraged, ALL of Vox Machina finished her off brutally, including Scanlan carving the de Rolo crest on her forehead. 👀All ending with that faithful shots from Vex'ahlia through the heart and mouth. 20:45 - Indeed it is! 20:30 - I'm intrigued if we'll see Cabal's Ruin (the vestige Ripley was wearing) make a return in season 4, as it didn't sink into the bottom of the ocean in the campaign like it did here. 👀 21:23 - Vax was referring to the magical pouch that Vex kept her broom in, allowing them to fly away. 23:42 - Grog's little smile here. 😭 26:18 - The way Raishan constantly calls Keyleth child during this scene (and later on) makes me think this is where they originally had Keyleth's popular line from the campaign "Call me child ONE MORE GODDAMS TIME!" before it was ultimately cut due to time constraint. Really sucks because that was such an intense moment from Keyleth and I SO wanted it to make an appearance in this animated series. Hurts even more after learning Marisha DID record the line and apparently did an awesome job with it. 😑 28:00 - So this is another major change from the campaign. Vox Machina actually managed to kill Raishan before she enacted her plan to use Thordak's body, so the cast never knew what she was going to do with it. This definitely feels like a way for Matt to show off what he WANTED to do, before everyone else derailed his scheme. 😂

"Would it? Would it?" - Ripley was, very much, a firearm nutcase, believing in & justifying the use of pepperboxes, and excusing away every argument of how harmful & destructive they could be. It very much echoes (heh) arguments about firearm safety today. Friendly reminder that, very likely before Season 4 arrives, we'll get the 2nd Critical Role animated series, Mighty Nein! Either late this year or early next is my guess, but I have a VERY strong feeling you'll love it, possibly even more than Vox Machina.

Fun fact: When Raishan possesses Thordak's corpse and becomes a Dracolich, her voice becomes two-toned; the intention being a combination of hers and Thordaks. One tone is Cree Summers (her normal VA). The second tone is not Lance Reddick. By this point, he had already passed away. It's actually Levarr Burton (you might know him as Gordie LaForge from Star Trek Next Gen). Reddick was a huge fan of Burton's, and they'd actually had a chance to meet at a convention a few years ago. When Reddick passed, his widow asked Burton to fill in for him for these last couple episodes.

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure the arrow that Vex uses to kill Ripley with was the same arrowhead that Percy gave her last season. Can't wait for the next episode!
