The season got very much on my good side by finding a way to have the rest of the family be a regular presence even as Wednesday herself is still the clear lead. Xavier’s departure is another great move. Now just hook her up with Enid, you cowards. There’s literally nothing stopping you and both actresses have even said they’d be open to it.

Billie Piper is almost my same age, and it upsets me that she still looks exactly like she did in Doctor Who in 2005. Also, one of the first openly bisexual celebrities!

100% I don't agree with ANOTHER love triangle. But I do appreciate how it's not taking up all of Enid's attention. I fear we all must suffer through this as Wenclair shippers (but genuinely how to writers and creators not pay attention to the actual chemistry between characters in their stuff? We viewers aren't THAT delusional). I am glad Xavier is gone just purely on the fact I never liked his character to begin with.

What I love about Wednesday getting Enid a gift, besides just the obvious she doesn't do that for anyone else, is that it feels like a cat bringing their person dead things to show off their hunting skills. Black cat and golden retriever, tis them! The fact that she apparently just lets Enid read her novel?! Are you kidding me?! Dort needs to go! Free Bianca!! Yaaaaay.... Another love triangle.... Because everyone loved it so much the first time.... Yippee....

Mysteries abound! Let's fucking go! Fully agree about Wednesday having AroAce vibes. She doesn't need romance to complete her character. But if she did... Enid. They are just such a perfect "opposites attract" couple. Literally Black Cat and Golden Retriever energy. Not only did she get Enid a gift, but you saw that little smile when she did. Few things make Wednesday Addams smile and Enid Sinclair is one of them. And yes, Wenclair is the ship name. Principal Dort... the embodiment of "Tries too hard". Every interaction with him just makes you want to cringe. I appreciate the hell outta Steve Buschemi though. Elijah having gay panic over Billie Piper. Valid. With the vision, I can't help but wonder if the white rose is significant. Typically a white rose means innocence and purity.

I might be in the minority here, but I acually liked Xavier in Season 1 as a character, NOT as a „love interest" for Wednesday... And they did his diparture in a clever way so to still have him „around" (the painting), without him being acually there

She did have that quasi-romance in the second movie, but it very much just comes off as two kids going through the motions because it's what they've been told they're supposed to do. Plus the exchange where she says she's interested in homicide rather than boys.

Valid. None of the romance in the first season felt... genuine (With the exception of Gomez and Morticia, of course). We got more emotional payoff with a platonic hug than any of the romance.

I always have to wonder what the casting call is like for serial killers and the like. Steve Buscemi... why did I think the principle was played by Gary Oldman? I am not good at faces... Your rant about the love triangle and bland heterosexual relationships is on point ... never watch Supergirl. At least Batwoman gave us sapphic love geometry. So ... have you given Mosco a rock, or the other way around? The pink cottage is a nod to the original black and white movie - the set was also pink because it looked best in black and white. Wait, the music teacher is Billie Piper? I am not good at faces... but as soon as she came on screen I was like, "oh look, it's The Art!" And if she does turn out to be evil, well, it wouldn't be the first time you simped for a hot lady villain.

I kinda liked the character but the second i learned that the actor was a weirdo i just couldn't look at the character the same way. It's sad when actors ruin a fine character.

So, what stays after the first episode? I loved loved loved the little animated story. It practically screamed Tim Burton...😂🤩 Love the little chest house that Enid built for Thing...🤩 The song isn't "We didn't start the fire", it is "Dancing in the Dark" by Bruce Springsteen...🙂 I am totally with you with Wednesday not giving any love interest. She is so fascinating because she isn't like any other teenager out there. She is a smart, a dedicated detective, a loner, fiercly loyal to and protective of her family, her allies and her friend, dedicated to the dark arts and that is it. The only person she truly befriends is Enid. Talking about Enid though - I'm sorry, but I'm afraid my thoughts tend to the unpopular side here. I can totally see and do like to see Enid in a love triangle, if it is well written and performed. She isn't a shy or awkward stay at home person. She is bubbly, compassionate, smart and outgoing. She is, in contrast to Wednesday, like any other teenager in a boarding school. Especially now that she wolved out. And thanks to recent events she is also one of the most popular girls of Nevermore. I just didn't like how her teenage crush was written and directed in season 1. Why don't we just wait and see how everything develops? The way the new crush is introduced in this episode lets me think that there is more to him then just being Enids crush. I think this is just a red herring and there is more to it...🙂🤔 By the way, if you count Eugene in, Enid finds herself in a love square (or is it quad?)...🙈 I miss the old romanian Nevermore and Jericho. Ireland is just way too cozy and green for the real Addams feeling...😅 The woman in the boys dorm is Janet Ottinger, one of Eugenes mothers. We saw her briefly two times in season 1. I don't think she has a bigger part to play, but of course I can be wrong...🙂 Catherine Zeta-Jones really owns Morticia, the same goes for Luis Guzman as Gomez. Love them both. The have an interesting dynamic. Gomez is the heart of the family and Morticia the head. The funny thing for me is, when Morticia said she lets Gomez believe he would run the family, I think he knows exactly what Morticia is doing and just plays along with it. He doesn't seem to have any intention to be the leader of the family. He keeps them together, the mother is the driving force behind this family. I love the Addams family car. I would love to take a ride in it...🤩 I like how Steve Buscemi plays Principal Dort. So many layers in just a look or gesture. He seems to be a Poe fan, since he wears his hair like his idol. He wants to come across as harmless and simple, but there is much going on behind this facade. He plays the fool so people do underestimate him. And yes, why does he want to have the Addams' there? He showed his other side with Bianca too...🤔 I loved the little joke about the "Reichenbach Academy" in Switzerland where Xavier was sent to. The famous "Reichenbach Falls" are the place where Arthur Conan Doyle sent his Sherlock Holmes to die...😀 Only Sherlock Holmes didn't stay dead - foreshadowing? 🤔😅 Loved the doll Wednesday gave Enid. The crownjuwel of the scalpers collection...🙈 I think Billie Piper will turn out to be the villainess or at least a villainess/antagonist...🤔

Same feelings towards the love triangle. I hate love triangles, just as a concept, but I've never seen one make less sense. It felt like they wanted to shoe-horn in some romance just for the sake of it. And yeah she was also giving me strong Aroace vibes, Like come on?! I wouldn't be as upset with Wenclair, because like you said it would've at least made a lot more sense than that. But I just really feel like this is one of those shows that just does not need romance at all.

The sleuthing is fun to watch. I just hope it doesn’t ruin her enjoying by breaking the flow. I doubt it does, or she wouldn’t do it. I personally do not do this, quite intentionally. I like being surprised.
