Appropriate password Elijah. 😊

Rando

Yesss, those are the crazy eyes I was hoping to see 👀

Dre

I CALLED IT TWO WEEKS AGO I KNEW THAT THE THUMBNAIL WOULD BEE THE BEES HOLDING HANDS!!!! 👏 Also didn’t Elijah say before that she wanted to see Blake and Yang overcome their shared trauma together? Well. She got what she wanted. With the trauma personified into a punchable antagonist. :)

SauceyRed

OH MY GOD I didn’t realize this next one was gonna be the Adam stuff, been waiting for your reaction to it lmao

awktopus

Watching you lose your mind for bumblebee has been the highlight of my day 🥹🐝💛🖤

melancholymagpie

OMG FINALLY!!!! i've been waintingggggg for this one since elijah starting falling in loves with the bees 😭😭💛🖤

Dreanner95

Just for your information about Adam's scar: SDC=Schnee Dust Company.

BGTitan

Ep 10: Maria continues to be the best. The reveal that Adam has actually been stalking Blake was well done. Of course, he’d wait until she split off from the rest of her group. “Why did you have to come into my life and ruin everything!” This man is delusional, good grief. The flash of him on the train was the real him. He was wearing his V4-6 outfit. And Qrow had mentioned the door to the back of the train had been left wide open. But the one we saw at Brunswick Farm was just Yang’s PTSD. He was in his old V1-3 outfit, which makes sense because that’s the last time Yang saw him. Ep 11: RIP Bumblebee (the bike). Your final act in this series was hitting a jackass in the face and I’ll always respect that. You sank so that Bumbleby could triumph. o7 The fight with Cordo’s mech is a pretty neat set piece. Definitely the biggest thing these kids have fought so far. I can’t even begin to imagine how complicated it was to animate with all the moving pieces (characters and mech parts). Again, glad you're feeling better. When these were the episodes you had to put on hold I was like "noooooooo!" Dumb sinus infection! lol

Gihellcy

This reaction was FIRE, and the next one will be EVEN BETTER ~~ PS : The scar on Adam's face is for SDC : Schnee Dust Company, in wich many faunus where enslaved-

Janice Marie Audio

Adam’s brand says “SDC,” as in “Schnee Dust Company”

L Frances

So Adam's scar, SDC, stands for Schnee Dust Company. The company we know has been doing unethical labor practices for the Faunus under the leadership of Weiss' father. We don't get much of Adam's backstory other than that he was branded in the face by an anti-faunus organization. But that gives enough of an explanation for what sent him down that hateful path. It's something he'd see every time he looked in the mirror. And then he masked up so all he saw in the mirror was a monster. It's a lot of reading between the lines, but he's basically a lesson in unhealthy coping mechanisms exacerbating his worst qualities. He could've been better at some point, but by the time he entered even Blake's life, he was already pretty irreparably down that path.

Dafydd Mac an Leigh

I love that they brought back "Armed and Ready" for Yang's BDH entrance there. And that they finished with just a hint of a new song (that Elijah will absolutely jam to if she hears it)

Thalia Robinson

A lot of people have said something about Adam's scar being for the SDC, so I just wanted to say, yes, Adam gave Blake that scar on her stomach. That's the scar from when he stabbed her back at Beacon in Volume 3.

Kyle Hennett

It is not SOC, it’s SDC aka Schnee Dust Company. Also if you notice the damage done to Yang’s Metal arm that Adam does it looks like claws, that is a nod to who Adam is based on The Beast from Beauty and the Beast. Blake is Based on Beauty.

Karel Hill

We salute you Bumblebee. Thank you for your service.

Dafydd Mac an Leigh

Also in regards to music, the use of "All That Matters" as Yang drops Blake off is a perfect representation of Yang's abandonment issues rising up in the back of her mind. Brilliant touch

Rachel Mae

I absolutely love how Saphron and Terra definitely aren't filled in on all the details of what their mission is but are so down to help Jaune and the crew steal from the Atlas Military anyway. They said be gay do crimes 😂 "Don't worry this isn't the first time I've disabled Atlas security 😸" <- Casual reminder that our favorite cat girl is technicallyyyy a former terrorist The way that *at times* they are clearly having fun during fights absolutely sends me. Like yea you go beat up that old lady and her robot you funky little child soldiers! Ruby running and jumping from missile to missile is the coolest shit I've ever seen. She's such a badass As others have said the scar is a brand that says SDC - Schnee Dust Company. If you want more backstory there you're gonna have to read the RWBY DC comic by Marguerite Bennett. (we love and appreciate Marguerite Bennett in this house) Takes place between v4 and v5 with some flashbacks to earlier. Since you've seen his face it's officially spoiler free now.

L Frances

As far as the other series' go: World of Remnant is kinda unnecessary for a reaction at this point, cause it's backstory for things you mostly already know at this point. RWBY Chibi is cute and fun, but not exactly meaty in terms of reactions. If you bundled them up into 6-7 eps per reaction, cause they're so short, you could be done in 10 reactions, but that does take away from more lore-heavy shows. and Ice Queendom is basically an anime remake of the first volume of RWBY, plus some extra stuff, but it's not really a canon extension of the series, so not exactly necessary either. RWBY Beyond is worth it as essentially a tide-over teaser for Volume 10

dainbramage7

Elijah with the "Yake and Blang" shipping is so relatable. Love it!

Solus

True, also for Ice Queendom, while I did like it, it was not what I had expected it was just ok, at least for me, I did however love Justice League × RWBY: Super Heroes & Huntsmen parts 1&2, but that's probably because I like and am a fan of the Justice League since I grew up on the animated series, I know a lot of people did not like it but, at least for me, I liked it better than Ice Queendom, but I did love the anime style of Ice Queendom just the story for me was ok, I hyped myself up way too much when the trailer for came out.

Kaykic

Adam's been stalking them across the continent, now we're left to wonder if it was really him they were seeing standing menacingly in the distance, or a ptsd hallucination. Maybe a bit of both? Also "That's the sound of me not caring" *manic laughter*, gods I love Maria.

Isadora

The one receiving the scratch is Yang though.

Hakori

Yake and Blang. the mental typo we've all made at one point or other lol

Liam Gradwell

Elijah going all in on the 🐝 ship is just what I look forward to. I love it! ❤️🤍🖤💛🌈🌹

bloodyshadow1

34:00 seems pretty gay and only gets gayer

hannah davis

Elijah being so excited over Bumbleby that she can't physically contain her excitement LMAOO

Isadora

Ok, apologies if I misunderstood. It looked like you meant Adam. All good!

CrowOfAFeather

I've been waiting for your reactions to these episodes :D Can't wait for next week! Glad to hear you're feeling better ^^ As for Adam's scar, you're close. It's not S "O" C. We were introduced to something as early as V1 by Blake when she talked to a certain someone...who would definitely have a strong reaction if she'd seen Adam's scar. That's all I'll say! Gotta love the Bees holding hands and Blake's statement is so good! It's not one protecting the other bc they're weaker, they are watching each other's backs as equals ^^

RyeBread

Another brilliant episode! And now you get to enjoy my favourite episode, which should come out the day after my birthday! Best present ever!

Karel Hill

I'm surprised you were able to stop yourself from watching the final two episodes of this seasons immediately. So excited for you to watch them.

LikeCat

Maria is such a menace. Like when I started watching Vol. 6 I was not prepared to have heard such brilliant one-liners from this woman... But here I am with Maria being one of my Top 5 favorite side characters (a „side character" for me is basically anybody who isn't Team RWBY or JNPR/ JNOR - I don't know from the top of my head the Team name with Oscar😅)

Cheery in Pink!

Regarding your series questions about where they line up: Chibi is non canon and references events from the main show a lot and Ice Queendom is basically a non canon AU story set in beacon days

Ashley Silver

Adam's attitude gets especially worse when you take into account that he's canonically six years older than Blake and he's DARVO-ing someone he groomed as a minor.

Verdant Crown

Bumblebee may have fallen, but Yake and Blang will continue to soar.

Ashley Silver

There's also two movies that are Justice League crossovers if you're interested in reacting to those after the series.

Profesor Pomelo

I love how Adam is like a dark reflection of Yang. They are warriors fighting for righteous (self-righteous in Adam's case) causes. They get more powerful by absorbing damage. They're strong, passionate... and very troubled. Yang's mom left her. Ruby's mom left too. Tai was always busy with school and Ruby couldn't even talk yet. Yang had to pick up the pieces. She had to keep things together. Alone. Since he was child, Adam was taunted, tortured, beated, while the other faunus were "weaklings satisfied to gnaw on scraps and afraid to leave the nest". One day, he had enough and decided to stand up to the people who called him and his kind "animals", becoming a force of revolution. That's why Blake was insure about Yang at first: she reminded her too much of Adam. She already had trusting issues, but after Yang broke Mercury's leg "in self-defense", Blake was the only teammate who wasn't satisfied until she made her promise that she didn't do it on purpose. Their traumas have affected them greatly. Adam is full of spite because every time he looks in the mirror he remembers what the world did to him, and Yang can't stop shaking every time she remembers that night in Beacon. And Blake's running triggers their abandoment issues, causing them to snap at everyone who mentions her. When Blake rejoins team RWBY, Yang has her doubts because she doesn't believe that she's staying because she wants to, but because she feels guilt or pity for what happened to her. What Blake doesn't see is that Yang isn't angry about losing her arm. What I love the most about the scene when Adam takes off the blindfold is that Blake isn't surprised when she sees his eyes. Adam wore the grimm mask to become the monster humans made out of him. Because he couldn't show his vulnerable side to anyone... and yet, he did show it to Blake. Because they trusted her, and she left something worse than scars: *she left them alone.* In short, Adam is what Yang would have become if she couldn't let go of the past.

Dre

I think Blake did see him on the train because he was wearing his new outfit (the one with the fabric over his eyes). But when Yang saw him in the snow it may have been a hallucination because he was wearing his old outfit (the one with the mask).

Dre

Ah okay. Elijah is open to reacting to the RWBY soundtrack AFTER she catches up on the whole show. That’ll be fun to look forward to! Gosh Maria is so funny. I love that she can shift from wise sage to unhinged old lady on the turn of a dime. She’s the best. 😂

CheetsAC7

Just wanted to comment that I greatly appreciated your whole rant on Adam's character, especially the part about it being a little too real.

neopolitan

I'm SOOOO excited for next week!!!

Enchanted_Echo

(thoughts are gong to be a bit scattered and out of order so sorry in advance) 1. I'm sorry I know it was mid rant but it was so SO funny when the desk started rising up out of no where cutting you off I was dying laughing 2. It's actually not not SOC but SDC, I can see why you think that, it is hard to see, there is a company that was pronounced to be very harsh to faunus that our ice queen knows much about as from the black trailer who were they robbing from? The Schnee Dust Company the people that abused him, torment him and make him hate all humans and now he has a permeant reminder of them thanks to the SDC's treatment of faunus 3. It is a quick blink and you miss it moment but when Blang was going for the punch for Adam and then shot to the right dodging his attack shows she really did learn from Vol.3. And at the same time from that if you remember Adam stabbed Yake in the side and that's how she has that scar. 4. Happy to hear you know your stories because yes, the base and Cordovan are based on The Lady and The Shoe as RWBY is known for getting a lot of it's inspiration from of many fables, stories, and poetry. Fun fact originally that was suppose to come up in Volume 4 with Ozpin under a plan from Monty Olm I believe but obviously that didn't fall through. 5. I completely understand wanting to wait for the songs to do a reaction as you are right they do contain spoilers if you do listen to them before finishing the volume you are listening to but I will say if you do want to go back and listen 1-6 once you finish it will enlighten a lot of characters thoughts and feelings/getting into their mind for specific moments and stay fresh going into the next volume, a fun example being with Neo and her motivations from the song "One Thing" or even back in Volume 2 with the song Red Like Roses Part II just to name a few. It's just a way to keep the knowledge fresh inside your mind and understand some situations better. 6. When it comes to RWBY chibi and RWBY Ice Queendom, neither of them are official canon (though Ice Queendom is canon adjacent) Chibi is a fun way to recover the trauma of vol. 3 and a way to have some fun goofy moments and be at ease. You should be good to watch the first 2 seasons now, season 3 after 7 and 4 after 8 though I would recommend just finish RWBY and catch up after 9 as from what you listed with the two of them you do also have: World of Remnant (available on YT) which gives more lore on the kingdom and you should be good to watch all of them and RWBY: Beyond (all 4 are on YT in a compilation I think), of which you can watch ONLY AFTER Vol. 9 along with the animatic for what was suppose to come after Vol.9. With Rwby Ice Queendom it is made by a different studio as it's very much more anime in terms of looks and it also takes place between Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 primarily focus on someone known to be....icey and cold and the first few episodes are really a recap/retelling of volume 1......that is all I will say about that. 7. I really like your little rant about not letting hate take control and take time to heal about yourself as the bullying it is very much not fun being the little guy being picked on and moving forward because Amen to all the stuff you said 8. So another unfortunate thing for not seeing the intro is if you remember one of the scenes has Adam mirrored in a reflection and disappeared and throughout the volume when Yake and Blang see Adam in front then disappear that's because it was in fact not a ghost......this whole time if you were wondering what he was doing, he was following them to do what he is doing now. 9. (sips tea) I'm very intrigued for your next reaction and happy to know you're feeling better :)

ActualBampot

Fun fact- The voice actor for Adam said that he struggled with some of the dialogue because it was so creepy. Also the branding on Adam's face is SDC (Schnee Dust Company)

Zero Blazer Gaming

While Blake is based on Bell from Beauty on the Beast, Adam is based on the Beast, both from the spoiled prince that did not learn to love, and was give the prince's name. And the brand on his face is S.D.C for Shney Dust Company. Ice Queendom adds new details to Vol 1 and ends at the start of vol 2, with it take place mostly between the first two volumes. don't skip episodes as new details are added to Vol 1.

Nektis Noir

A few things The brand on Adams eye says "SDC". As in Schnee Dust Company. The idea is that he used to an abused Faunus labor worker for Weiss' family's Dust company and that's where the scar and his hatred for humans originated. Ice Queendom is a spinoff RWBY anime that starts off retelling Volume 1 and then tells an original Weiss-centric story that takes place in-between V1 and V2. I highly recommend if you watch it to watch the dub version as that has the actors from the main show rather than the Japanese cast AND to make sure your footage of it is the Final Cut/Blu-ray version as that fixed a lot of animation mistakes from the initial release. You can watch it any time you want now honestly as it doesn't spoil anything beyond the intricacies of Weiss' family dynamic but I'd probably wait till you've at least finished the main show. There's also two RWBY movies you don't have that I highly recommend getting footage for. After V9 finished, WB commissioned the crew to make a two-part crossover film between RWBY and DCs Justice League. Both films are a lot of fun, have some great character interactions, and are currently the latest animated RWBY content we've gotten. Both Ice Queendom and the crossover films are considered "canon-adjacent". They won't be referenced in the main show and aren't necessarily needed but were made to be able to be slid into the timeline in a "It's canon if you want it to be" type deal. I do especially recommend IQ as while it has some pacing flaws and awkward dialogue, it's an interesting deep dive into Weiss' early psyche and really helps fix the problem V1s finale had where it seemed like Weiss' racism just vanished within the span of an episode.

Nektis Noir

Correction, CRWBY considers Ice Queendom "canon-adjacent". As in it won't be referenced or have an impact on the main show but you could insert between V1 and V2 if you wanted to.

Luminaxtea

My problem that turned me off of Ice Queendom is that it wasn't written or produced by CRWBY and it shows A LOT. I dropped it after like ep 3 I think?? Because it was just not it.

JAMES D'ALESSANDRO

We literally saw Adam on the train in chapter 1 of this volume without his usual mask.

Hi-Viz

Yeah the Adam on the train was absolutely real (you can see he has the blindfold) while the one Yang saw was an hallucination (old outfit). A really good piece of misdirection by the writers imo, because they put one definitely fake one you think the other one wasn't real as well

Hi-Viz

Blake is apparently meant to embody the Beauty AND the Beast

ArcticBanana

To answer the question about the watch order, according to the official broadcast order I found: World of Remnant: The episodes are spread throughout Volume 2 through 4, but you can watch 1-5 after Volume 2, 6-12 after Volume 3, and 13-16 after Volume 4. The "major spoiler" that people whine about is just their bewildering choice to put Salem in one of the Volume 2 WoR thumbnails for some reason. Character Shorts: The Volume 4 Character Short is before the beginning of Volume 4, before the first episode. The Weiss, Blake, and Yang shorts are before the first episode of Volume 5. The Adam short is after Volume 6. RWBY Chibi: You can watch RWBY Chibi Volume 1 after RWBY Volume 3, Chibi 2 after Volume 4, and Chibi 3 after Volume 5. RWBY Fairy Tales: These are all together at the end of Volume 8. RWBY: The Grimm Campaign: is a canon D&D campaign that takes place 2 years before Volume 1, but isn't necessary to the plot of the show. Ice Queendom is an AU. If I recall, they referred to it as "canon-adjacent", so basically non-canon.

man-of-bvz1n3ss

Adam's scar isn't a spoiler?? Elijah mistook the D for an O and people were explaining it to her.

Octavia

I don’t want to wait till next week 😩

Nektis Noir

Why would it be a spoiler? We know the meaning. It says SDC. We know what that is since Volume 1, Schnee Dust Company. It's never touched on again. It relies on the viewers knowing the abbreviation and putting the pieces together.

Nektis Noir

Why the attitude, bro? So she didn't remember something from 10 chapters ago that was watched weeks ago. Big deal. You don't got to be snippy about it.

Sarah Nara

I'm sure someone mentioned it before me but the brand on Adam's face says SDC for Shnee Dust Company

Cheery in Pink!

Canon adjacent isn't canon, and either way, it starts by telling the story of volume 1 again with explicit changes that contradict canon. So, non-canon sure is a pretty succinct way to describe that.

SportySpice

Blake marching off to do something badass while Yang looks at her like she hung the moon. That’s Bumbleby, baby! *chefs kiss* Sooo interesting that Yang’s semblance is a foil to Adam’s, but the version of it where she has to feel pain and channel it to protect the people she loves. It was so validating to see that confirmed. I’ve been holding my breath, dying for you to get to this stretch of episodes. This show is incredible.

Isadora

Also he had a hood obscuring his face, you couldn't see anything above the nose. And the way he disappeared made it look like he was an hallucination, easily justified by Blake's PTSD.

Sir_Adamus

i don't know if it's come up, probably has, but Cordovin is voiced by Mela Lee, who also played Kikimora in The Owl House; it's just funny to me that she plays obnoxious little jerks in both shows

Phoenix Rising

Alright so a couple of things to help clear things up. 1. That scar that Adam hovers over is a scar he gave her. We actually saw him give her the scar back in volume 3 right before he took Yang’s arm. 2. The scar on Adam’s eye actually says SDC as in Scheene Dust Company. Weiss’ father’s company she is the former heiress from. If you remember from early in the show they talked about how Faunus were often used as slaves in some companies until recently, so it implies that Adam was one of these Faunus being “branded as property.” This is really important to remember for the next few volumes as well. 3.The “I already let you go once” line is a call back to the black trailer. Insinuating he didn’t start chasing her down until the finale of volume 3. 4. This is the first time that we the audience learned that a character in the show could have multiple roles or even change their roles in the stories we know them as. Blake IS Belle from beauty and the beast. But just like Blake told Sun back in Volume 5, Adam isn’t the role we originally thought he was. He went from being Beast to Gaston.

LikeCat

And what did Kikimiki was in during the „For the Future"... Thats right, a GIANT MECH. (Not to the scale as Cordo's, but it is funny to think about)

Bryan Forquer

Episode 11 is Arguably one of the best episodes in the whole series! I love the symbolism of Yang and Adam's semblance. Adam is able to absorb attacks with his sword and then send it back. Adam always puts others in danger to save himself. While Yang has to absorb the damage directly, she still feels the pain of the attack. But is able to send it back twice as powerful. Because Yang is always willing to put herself in danger to protect the people she cares about. Can't wait for the next reaction, then on to volume 7!!

Nektis Noir

The retelling of V1 was always gonna have changes. That's just how adaptation process works, especially to frame it in prep for the rest of it's original story and to take RWBY to a 2D anime medium. Are you going to call the DC comics non-canon just cause the recap chapter it started with took adaptation liberties even though CRWBY stated those comics are "100% canon"?

Eric Smith

I assure you, when I talk about a "major spoiler" in the World of Remnant thumbnails, it's not Salem's character design (it's the spoiler that meant a certain opening had to wait until that volume's premier)

Hollyhock

Having to wait a week is torment for both us and you X'D The hype for the finale is definitely worth it though, hold on to your... chair?

Hollyhock

Adam's VA also hating Adam is so iconic honestly

Cheery in Pink!

Yeah, since only one sequence of events can be canon barring multiple timelines or universes, if you're asking me what I think makes something canon between marketing paratext saying something is canon or the text saying something is canon... I'm gonna go with text 10 times out of 10.

CrowOfAFeather

Adam's short isn't after V6, it's before. xD

JAMES D'ALESSANDRO

If you listen to the music after the volume you will not be spoiled at all, except for volume 1. You are way past any chance of getting spoiled. It would actually help you understand more about the show....shipping songs are not canan...though I wish some of them are

JAMES D'ALESSANDRO

Don't watch Ice Queendom it is absolute garbage and a disgrace...Chibi season 1 should be watched after volume 3. Season 2 of Chibi after volume 4, and the 3rd season after volume 5....then they made a few more episodes hat could be watched after v6 or v7. If you are still by Mosco when she finished v3 you 2 could watch the whole season together. They are 4 to 5 minutes per episode i believe

AyaMoon

Your reaction was great as always ! Laughed so hard when the desk cut your rent 😭 A lot of people already answered your questions but I wanted to add a little fact abt Adam stalking : When Cinder ask to Little Miss Malachite about team RWBY and co, after Cinder left, one of the minions ask why Little Miss didnt tell her right away their whereabout, because " we already know, that guy ask abt them " Now that we know Adam was stalking them because he waited for Blake to be alone, we know it was him who asked abt them to Little Miss ! ( Edit : actually discard that part ! It was not Adam) Also, im really excited to hear that you re gonna react to the others rwby stuff !

L Frances

Yeah, Ice Queedom is just entirely unnecessary & repetitive for RWBY fans, even if it has decent moments. JL x RWBY is very fun on the whole, and has a bit of meat to it. My big issue is that they essentially paused production of the series for it, and then WB killed Rooster Teeth. So it does feel annoyingly superfluous, even if it's fun.

Flufux

About Ice Queendom...that is entirely your opinion. I liked it well enough, and I think it's best to let Elijah make her own opinion of it.

Kiesen

I was working today, so my usual commentary is quite a few hours later than usual, but that'll never stop me: - Cordovin is indeed based off the nursery rhyme There Was an Old Woman Who Lived in a Shoe, hence the title. They love harping on that allusion. - Oh they definitely look great on that bike. Nobody here is disagreeing with you. - I wish we got more angst between Blake and Yang because boy was Yang hurt really bad, but at the same time I get it. I went through something similar with my girlfriend. - No comment. Continue yowling about Blake and Yang as usual. - Hey look its their old Poser Pro models as the contact photos. - I said it last time but god Cordovin gives 100% in her performance constantly and it sells the comedy. - "I swear if Adam like just pops up out of fucking nowhere to just grab her in the middle of this plan, I'm gonna throw something. Just saying." - The show runners actually wanted Cordovin and this mech for Volume 2, but swapped it out with the Mountain Glenn plot because it wasn't really feasible for the show back then. The idea for her character also predates even Volume 1. - Glad you delivered on your word to throw something. - God they really nail Adam's dialogue as an abusive prick. They've managed it before this episode, but it's brutal in this section of the story. - I get that. I personally like that the music is "spoiler-y" because I think it adds a lot of layers and foreshadowing to revisit. But that's how I like to experience stories, and I completely understand that you want to go into this as raw as possible. - Ice Queendom is canon-adjacent. It could feasibly fit into the story but it'll probably never be referenced. I think it's alright, just a bit weird. - Okay okay this is just a conspiracy theory of mine and by no means confirmed BUT, I feel like that intro to the mech fight, where Ruby runs across the missiles, is a homage to a portion of another iconic mech fight, Raiden vs. the Metal Gear Ray in MGR: Revengeance: https://youtube.com/clip/Ugkxaz8YWLXBdwfMrb3diSAOrRte0STpv601?si=9hebd-eUOnbJANOL - Only RWBY could successfully pull off a rock song centered around nursery rhymes and fairy tales. There's even a rap section that kind of goes hard. Also a good portion of the ones mentioned in the full song are already RWBY characters. - That's Yake and Blang count #2. Can we get to #3 by the end of the series? - I love Blake's cunty long coat, but gotta agree with you that she's hotter without it. - They do a pretty good job in this fight of making Gambol Shroud's ribbon look like a flowing cat tail behind her. I personally think she should have a tail in the first place (ik the limits of Poser Pro prevented it) but I like that they kind of make up for it with Gambol Shroud. - That scar is from V3, when he stabbed her (then cut off Yang's arm). - His brand says "SDC" which refers to the Schnee Dust Company. - I get what they were going for with having Adam's eye branded with the SDC logo, but it just feels... impractical? And also a waste with his bull motif? If he's supposed to be treated like an animal, then they should've branded him on his thigh or chest. Or they could've forced a cow tag on his ear which he rips out. Or they could've attempted to de-horn him and broke one horn permanently. Something that makes it feel like he was //really// dehumanized. - Hitting Adam with Bumblebee lmao. - This fight sequence between Adam and Yang was referenced heavily from Monty's unfinished work for a fight between them in V3. - We all scream over "We're protecting each other." - You are Not ready for the full finale (tbh I consider the last four episodes to basically be the finale, so you're half way through). You'll fucking love it though. - There is a Volume 10 in the making! I hope you'll be able to react with all of us as it comes out.

The Biggest Gay

Just a fun (not fun) little fact, whenever blake saw Adam he was wearing this outfit so it was actually him, while yang kept seeing his (i believe) volume 3 outfit so it was just ptsd

Vex Valor

Glad we are finally here. I have been waiting for this fight

Jittercritter

In the wise words of Barbra Dunkleman… she hit him with both bumblebees!!!

Arashi

Fair take on the soundtrack, although it's less of an issue outside of each volume. Could give a listen after the finale of a volume and you shouldn't get spoiled. At least directly, there is still implied and you have shown a high narrative awareness that you could piece bits together. Ice Queendom is a rework of the series in a more 'anime-esque' art style? There are extra/different events and stories, but it's still takes place in the fist volume of the series. Okay... but what about Blang and Yake? The show never answered anything about them! #JusticeforBlang&Yake. I really am on the edge of my seat for 12, specifically what I call the best 30 seconds of the arc with the best song of the volume.

Jittercritter

As horrible of a person as he is, Adam’s fighting style is SO cool. This episode is the most powerful we’ve seen him so far and it’s terrifying. The extra insight into how Adam treats her and thinks about her is so heartbreaking: calling her a selfish coward, grabbing her by the throat, telling her to ‘behave’ ugh what a monster! It really recontectualizes Blake’s behavior in volume 1. Not only does she have to deal with humans calling her an animal, she also had to deal with her mentor and boyfriend treating her like one. Side note though: damn she’s a badass. Them moves though, I think this is one of Blake’s best fights. Homegirl wants Adam gone already

BeastialMoon

ahahahaha the camera got annoyed at the Adam rant and tried to leave xD

Mare

I have this posted to another reactor but I had to wait until you reached this far into the series to post this. (Blake’s Beauty and the Beast Arc): Now that you're this far along I can finally tell you that the Blake-Yang-Adam situation was basically "Beauty and the Beast" and it was intentional as it was first mentioned in the Volume 1 Director's commentary. I was dying to say something but it was too spoilery and now that you're finally at V6 ep11, I can FINALLY spill the tea on this LOL. We See Blake in the dining hall reading and she has her candlebra with her which is supposed to be reminiscent of the Beauty and the Beast character named "Lumiere." So that was the first clue she was Beauty and the Beast. They really borrowed a lot from the Disney version LOL. RWBY: (Volume 1) Director's Commentary: Miles: Oh, was it your idea to give her a candelabra? Kerry: Yeah. Miles: Yeah, we wanna, we wanna make sure that Blake had, uh, lots of Belle related items around her. Just a little tip here and there. Also those three claw-looking lines on Yang's prosthetic was homage to when the Beast (In the Disney version) got the same kind of claw marks from when he was attacked by wolves. Also Blake's entire arc played out like B&B plot where Belle runs away from the Beast but comes back and when she comes back, that's when Gaston infiltrates the Beast's castle and tries to kill him because of his insane Jealousy. As the other Patreon Members have mentioned in the past, Sun fits into the Beauty and the Beast narrative as "Chip" who (in the Disney version) stowed away in Belle's bag so that he could try to get her to come back home... which is exactly what Sun did when he was trying to get Blake back with her team. Adam is supposed to be the Cursed Rose and basically the Beast as if he remained cursed forever so their roles in Blake's narrative interchange as he eventually becomes Gaston. Blake is supposed to be both Beauty AND the Beast to signify her being a Faunus with both human and animal traits. Yang is also considered the "Beauty" when you refer back to the "Red Like Roses" PT 1 song (Ruby's Red Trailer): Excerpt of the lyrics before it goes to the song's bridge: "Black the beast descends from shadows Yellow beauty burns........Gold" And here's one last thing taken from the RWBY Amity Arena game card profile for Adam Taurus: "Adam Taurus used to gaze up at the sky with bright blue eyes whenever he could, between shifts in the dust mines, dreaming of the day he would leave the tunnels behind to find his place in the world. But what he found instead was himself... on the ground, staring up at the three letters that damned him now and forever. Scarred. Despised. Cold. Adam's heart grows black, his hatred red hot. The final traces of love, the beauty he let go, never returns, and as the last petal falls, Adam is cursed to forever remain a beast. Because, in this tale as old as time, there is no happy ending. In this story... He is the monster. Adam Taurus had finally found his place, and he would watch humanity... burn. "I wanted equality! I wanted peace!" -Blake "What you want, is IMPOSSIBLE!" - Adam —-End of Profile Card—- EDIT: Wanted to also mention that that SDC brand in his eye was confirmed at a RWBY panel to come from a coworker (at the mines) that he got into an argument with.

Sam Marsh

The mark on Adam’s face is SDC, which stands for Schnee Dust Company, which in the past has had a bad reputation for mistreating their faunus workers.

Migli

actually the guy they (miss malachite's crew) were referring to was hazel because it wasnt that guy but "that big guy" and that's how he knew rwby and co were headed to atlas, however in terms of foreshadowing of Adams stalking, the Adam Blake sees on the train WAS him as he's in his new outfit compared to Yang's ptsd where he's in his original outfit, remember in the first episode the two train huntsmen arguing over who left the caboose open, either it really wasn't either of them that left it open or Adam used that to sneak in either way Adam WAS on the train.

Arius

IQ is actually amazing imo

Migli

remember when Blake saw Adam on the train? she assumed she was seeing things but no, he's been following her the entire time and just waited until she was alone to try and pick her off, if you recall the two huntsmen from the train were arguing about leaving the trains caboose wide open, it was Adam or at least how Adam got onto the train.

Migli

i doubt she will end up reacting to IQ cause shes talked about how they don't react to Japanese anime because Japan doesn't have fair use laws and although lots of channels do fine with anime reaction they don't want to take the risk of losing their livelihoods due to copyright strikes which is valid.

AyaMoon

I forgot the " big" ! My bad, but it never really made sense that it might be Hazel since we know he went back with Emerald and Mercury. He cant be at both places in the same time ? I always assume it was Adam they were refering to. For the outfits severals peoples pointed it out when I read the comment so I didnt want to add one more lol.

Migli

its all good, also why i think it makes sense it was hazel, although we dont know the exact timeline of events we know that the "big guy" in question asked about them "last week" prior to cider arriving there, meaning cinder was MIA during that time frozen at the bottom of the vault and then in the present as of cinder talking to miss malachite hazel and co were returning to salem with what little information they could to make up for the failure of the mission

AyaMoon

You re right it does make more sense. I ll edit my first comment then, thank you for correcting me 💙

Konrad Dunbar

look okay LOOK I know this is the bees episode but it's the funniest/cutest thing to me ruby with all the space on the queen lancer and a trained huntress who pogo's herself while riding crescent rose feels the need to sit so close to weiss and have her arms wrapped around her like she's riding a motorcycle lmao I think he was on the train to argus and was just waiting for team rwby to all show up!

Ryan

Yake and Blang sound like characters in a RWBY mirror universe where Yake is the moody goth one, with jet black hair, and Blang is a peppy blond with a pixie cut and is secretly a hummingbird Faunus.

GREG HUFFMAN

just to let you know there is also two rwby justice league crossover movies as well

Natasha Grimm

Yake and Blang are the ship names we were saved from by Bumbleby

Jonathan Smith

Hey mods, not sure if it's been suggested, but it might be a good idea to tell Elijah not to watch the Volume 7 title intro until she gets a few episodes in for... reasons.

RedPrototype101

I second this, maybe someone can cut the intro out for her?

beans

i remember after ep 11 dropped, my entire feed on social media was either people posting that shot of blake with her coat cut off pointing the gun or edits of the bike hitting adam to the beat of songs like hollaback girl

FanofFantasy

In all fairness, nothing big is spoiled by volume 7 intro especially since it happens at the end of the first episode. I mean sure, there is a small spoiler but the BIG THING is established in the first episode before the intro is shown.

FanofFantasy

Absolutely love your reaction! Can’t wait for more!! To answer your questions though… 1. Blakes scar is from when Adam first stabbed her in volume 3 at the fall of Beacon 2. The brand on Adam’s face says SDC as in Schnee Dust Company. The Faunus workers were constantly abused by the company and Adam was one of them.

Potato

And the time in the shed yang saw him out the window and then it went away once again assumed as a trigger

Hi-Viz

Well the farm vision was absolutely an hallucination, which was a good piece of misdirection

ELS_Art

Yack and Blang! 🤣🤣🤣

Meganclare7

I know you where both sick last week but it felt like forever for this react lol

Vivica the witch

The irony of her Over analyzing a scene and thus delaying getting to the scene she wants lol

SauceyRed

Wait WHAT? I had no idea she was Kiki's VA! (Or actually... maybe I did and forgot) I can hear it now

SauceyRed

I understand the feeling of some of the songs sounding spoiler-y, and some kinda are (several have at least foreshadowing), but that's mostly a coincidence afaik. From what I know (though take this with a grain of salt because idk my sources), Jeff Williams (the writer of almost all of the songs in RWBY) didn't really get much input from the show writers; he basically had free reign of the lyrics and wrote them based on what he knew and thought. I don't think he had much, if any, knowledge of what would happen. So any spoilers were likely unintentional. Fellow fans are free to correct me though!

SauceyRed

I'm still surprised most (all? don't remember) reactors I've watched didn't read the SDC logo on Adam's face correctly. Like, I get that the D looks like an O, but when I first saw it I immediately thought of the SDC, it's the only thing that makes sense. It's the only acronym that we've seen/heard that looks anything close to that, and when we hear of the SDC, it's often in connection with the topic of faunus (e.g. when Weiss and Blake have talked about it). Not meaning any of this negatively, just an observation.

EmberPanther

Yake and Blang #2! Also, it makes me so happy that Blake said “We’re protecting each other.” because in my mind that means she realized her stumble at the abandoned farm, and wanted to make sure that she cleared it up, no matter what happens next. ❤️

Victor Papa

S6, 9-13 is absolute peak RWBY. Genuinely the best run of episodes the series ever had. Things I particularly love about the Adam fight: - Yang's tremor immediately settling the moment Blake's hand touches hers - Yang throwing their ship in Adam's face - All of Adam's dialogue being so unbelievably creepy in an incredibly believable "Yeah, this dude is just an incel" way. - Right after Yang says "That's just cheap", she launches herself at Adam... just like she did at Beacon. And just like at Beacon, he tries to punish her for this reckless attack, only for Yang to dodge to the side at the last second, because she's learned and grown since their last fight, and he hasn't. It's a blink and you'll miss it moment, but it's the perfect summation of how much she's changed, and how much he hasn't. Honestly up there with Obi Wan vs Maul for perfect moments of character through fight choreography. - Yang's look of abject disdain when she lowers her arm after the guard. - All the shit I can't talk about that happens next episode. Things I just generally love about this episode: - Ruby and Jawne really coming into their own as leaders - "YOU GET BACK HERE WITH MY MAN!"

Lt. Waffles

good call waiting for Chibi until after you finish the main show. Chibi is awesome and worth it, but not at the expense of the spoilers it has.

Jadyn P

Mini-thought: I think they mentioned in a round table that the three collar marks actually wasn't intentionally, but they basically smiled and nodded when all the fans brought it up lol

Mare

Is it the RWBY REwind for Volume 6 you’re referring to? Basically what I got out of that was it was true. The hosts brought it up if I can recall (or maybe it was a question from a fan they addressed) and Issa looked like they stumbled upon a Bumbleby spoiler so she tried to keep it cool. She didn’t really do a convincing job though LOL.

Mare

Yeah I remember some of the reactors thinking the brand was a number at first.

Ray Knight

TFW you hit enter too early XD anyway. Blake, who left Yang in the first place, saying "I'll hurry back." And Yang, who was so hurt over being left by Blake, saying "Go." That conversation bit so perfectly summed up their arc until that point and I'm still in awe.

Yannara Negre

Elijah, there is also a CANNON mini series after vol 9 called "RWBY Beyond" and is way more important than the Ice Queendon anime.

Adrian

NGL I actually /really/ hate E11 and E12 so fucking much for reasons I can't even get into because spoilers. Is this showdown one that needs to happen? Hell Yes (Tho I would have liked Weiss involved because HELLO??? SDC??? IT's supposed war with the WF?? Why do we never actually get anything from that??) Was it done well? IMO that is a fuck no.

Aleviah

THISSSSS I personally think Ice Queendom really missed the mark in a ton of ways. Had a few cool moments, visually really beautiful, but I was super disappointed with the storyline and stuff. RWBY Beyond is way more important to the main show and interesting imo

Jonathan Smith

Yeah, but I want to see her reaction to the small thing the same time as Blang :)

Aleviah

That last episode always makes me cry because the Armed and Ready motif (Yang's 'comeback song') plays when she lands into the waterfall fight, and it's such a powerful moment for her character. Also, I don't know if you noticed because you were cheering them on, but right before Adam uses his semblance on Yang (and Blake screams for her), when Yang and Blake are looking at each other, Adam looks between them and gets really angry. I always interpreted that as him getting jealous of their closeness, because he can see it. I hope you continue to enjoy the series! Volumes 6 and 8 are two of my favorites, but 7 is really good and 9 is awesome as well. I love and appreciate your commentary, but don't forget to pay attention to the details! You never know what may be important later ;)

Mare

Thing is, it was confirmed (ata RWBY panel)to be a coworker that branded Adam. Not some SDC management or supervisor. And this is Blake and Yang’s interwoven arc. Weiss has her own arc. Adam is a character woven into Blake’s story as HER main antagonist and by extension Yang since their stories are tied together. Adam was never supposed to be a Plot A villain for the main narrative so there is no reason for Weiss and/or Ruby to be involved. Weiss had NO interaction with Adam in any of the volumes so it wouldn’t make sense. His beef will always be with those that Blake is the closest to. And Yang outranks Weiss when it comes to that. By adding Weiss in there because of the branding, you make Adam a main villain. He. is. Not.

Mare

Also another thing is that Blake’s arc basically follows the Beauty and the Beast storyline (Disney version) so it checks out ALMOST beat by beat.

Mare

I like how Ice Queendom focused on Weiss’ struggle with her racism because that’s something that RWBY proper kind of just skimmed over. It was like one day she was racist and the next day she was not. So it kind of fleshed out those moments.

SportySpice

I will never understand why anyone thinks Weiss should have been there bc of the SDC branding. How does that accomplish anything other than bungle the Faunus plot even more? Like if he was abused by SDC, how does that look optically if Weiss Schnee is beating him up? Or is she supposed to lose (and hijack a fight and trauma that isn’t hers)? Spend the whole fight apologizing for SDC’s wrongs while Blake and Yang fight for their lives? He never mentioned Blake being teammates with a Schnee as a gripe in any of their interactions. It would have been out of left field, and this piece of the storyline has always been personal not political. I really think people who wanted Weiss in that fight bc of a last second reveal of Adam’s brand really dont think through how that would play out. There is literally no way it looks good optically, politically or narratively. Half-baked mess it would have been.

Adrian

The Coworker bit Miles also explicitly said in the director commentary that the coworker bit was *was not canon* but just an idea they bounced off each other. So afa canon goes, who gave him that brand is unknown. (But we do know Papa Schnee is a scumbag who likely isn't so much against branding a faunus as he's probably against the bad press he'd get from it) My wish of Weiss to have been involved (Or just with the WF plotline at all) stems from wishful thinking for the story to have been better written in regards to the WF and Faunus (bc lets be fucking real, CRWBY did a shit job of writing both.) Because V1 has her explicitly say how her family has been at war with the WF for years, how she's had friends and family killed by them, except we never see anything supporting it, just throwaway lines with zero substance, CRWBY does jack with it and it frustrates the hell out of me. For someone who has supposedly been at war for so long, claiming to have such a bloody history when it comes to what was supposed to be one of the main opposing factions of the story, she sure has zero actual involvement with them.

PhoenixVoyager

Hate Adam. He is despicable and just the worst. But damn it I'm a sucker for the choreography and animation of his fighting style. Honestly the animation for the fight is something I always come back to with these episodes.

man-of-bvz1n3ss

Maybe so, but Weiss doesn't really feel like herself in the series, more just a stereotypical anime tsundere.

Jonathan Smith

I watched the 1st 3 volumes early on then stopped watching for a while before finishing it up last year and a lot of the discourse I saw is a lot of people not realizing how bad what Adam did is. I think eps 10-11 were written the way they were to explicitly show how abusive and gaslighting he was. Sadly, i still don't think it was enough for some people.

milkystross

Definitely should check out rwby beyond after volume 9, its 4 super short episodes that just add a tiny bit of extra content (this was at the time when they weren't certain if rwby would ever continue)

LikeCat

And there is a Vol 9 ending animatic „thing" which you could watch at the end of the last Vol 9 reaction.

Yannara Negre

But I think they are going to change a lot from the animatic to the series when it's done. RWBY Beyond is more "official".

LikeCat

Oh no doupt they gonna change stuff from the animatic. It is still a very good watch. (Beyond is obv more „official" because it is/ was meant to be the „closeing of RWBY"... ... Until Viz showed up.)

LikeCat

Since she already saw the final 2 episode I can say this: I so wanted to see a battle between Raven and Adam... In ANY capacity really. But alass, it was not meant to be. (His ending is still thematically important and impactfull, I would not change a thing about that btw)

Cinder's Apologist

big agree on the details. I get that it's easy to be swept up in the moment and gush and all, but there are absolutely little things that can and will matter later on, and it's good to keep a sharp eye for those ;D

Cinder's Apologist

hehehehehehehe HERE WE GO!! yes, Maria is a riot. yes, Cordovan is... probably compensating lmao. also "The Lady in the Shoe" is a nod to Cordovan - in a prior episode, Nora said that the military base looks like "a big dumb boot," and now... yeah. loving the hype for the big fight here. I expected as much. I promise, it will not disappoint. as for other RWBY things... yes, please PLEASE listen to the songs at some point. I can understand if you want to wait until finishing the show, but there is so much character lore and depth within the songs that the show just couldn't quite fit in. plus there are just so many great bops and bangers. I cannot wait to see your reactions to Chibi. it's so ridiculous and so funny - and without giving away too much, it is absolutely a product of its time in the sense that it was made post v3 for the fans to help "soothe things" as it were. just purely silly fun food. Ice Queendom is... not essential to canon. I have mixed emotions about it because while the style and premise are admittedly compelling in that anime sense, I do think it takes certain liberties with the girls that just feel off. although it is set during the v1 arc, it relies heavily on Weiss's family in ways that just make more sense once you get through the main show. personally, it just doesn't beat the original material overall. also big agree that RWBY Beyond is mandatory, once you finish v9. OH! I've noticed that Mosco is watching the World of Remnant videos so those might be worth revisiting to help refresh your memory about lore things. or just ask Mosco cuz she seems to be keen on absorbing all the lore XD

Cinder's Apologist

yep yep. I want to try to find something good to say for Ice Queendom, but the more I think about it, the more I just wanna say "don't bother" lmao. it's not *terrible* but it really doesn't add much to the characters... and yeah, like others are saying, storyline is a bit lacking in places

Cinder's Apologist

YES!! one of those little things that ABSOLUTELY MAKES A DIFFERENCE! and why it's good to revisit prior episodes ;D

Mare

Eddy and Kerry at the start of the animatic addresses this. Eddy Rivas: "You'll probably see some version of this in Volume 10. It won't be 1:1 but it will be something kind of like this..."

Azzora Rose

Completely agree. Kind of funny how two of the most hateable characters in RWBY have such cool fighting abilities - because while I despise Cinder's character and writing with every fiber of my being, her double sword that turns into a bow is undeniably my favorite weapon in the series

Yannara Negre

Ice Queendom also gives me mixed feelings — some parts are really great, while others are pretty boring. Maybe Elijah could put up a poll for this one and see who wants her reaction to it.

Silverbell_TTV

OH NO I'm all caught up! What'll I dooo!? What will I watch!? I'm DOOOOMED!! *wails dramatically while bouncing over to binge the Gravity Falls reactions* I've so been looking forward to Elijah seeing these episodes. ^_^ Can't wait for the next one! Welp, time to go check out Mosco's reactions in the meantime. <3

Stabby_Taco

I made it to Patreon finally lol. I just couldn't wait any longer now that we've hit these seasons. ALSO, I don't know if this has been talked about, but the voice actor for Qrow changes into vol 7 and on!

Alexis Cardillo

Okay Cordovan that a big overreaction using a giant mech to go after a small plan and small group of hunters. Maria is a total riot! I get what you're saying about the songs, I mean they do reveal stuff and typically the songs in each soundtrack tipically covers the events, growth, and such that happened in that volume the soundtrack is from, in later albums there are callbacks to previous songs but really you should be safe as long as you stick with the soundtrack volumes you already watched and for future volumes you're usually good to listen once you watch the volume finale. Again if you really want to wait till you finish all the volumes before reacting to the albums totally get it and totally up to you.

CheetsAC7

The Weiss/Adam dynamic has some good potential, especially for Monochrome, but would require a lot of rewrite of the RWBY story. Certainly by this point, near end of Volume 6, it would be a waste to involve Weiss. Most if not all the Volumes would have to be altered to make Adam/White Fang involvement more central to the plot, and more importantly involve Weiss with Adam very early on. It would make a good AU, especially to delve into topics such as civil war (Atlas versus White Fang/Mantle), subjugation, discrimiation, and wealth power/corruption. But it just didn't have enough room in the current RWBY to flesh any of that out. All of this to say I think they executed the current story well and would not change it, but could see a really good AU coming out of a retelling of how things went down in Beacon and shift in story focus. At this point in the AU show, perhaps it would have been Weiss caught alone by Adam, requiring Blake to come to her aid. Good optics in terms of people changing, not seeing things so black and white (haha Monochrome pun), and to move on from past hatred.

Adam DeVree

Aw she missed one of my favorite Nora lines
