Gravity!

Liam Gradwell

Oh Hell Yes! The Elijah gay panicking to Lute reaction! I’ve been waiting for this one. Not that I’m any room to judge. I get it! 🤣😍🖤

CrowOfAFeather

I can't wait to see this reaction! ...as soon as vimeo stops having tech issues and "bad request." Edit: Had to watch this on my phone as I kept getting the error message, (which is weird since the last one on your previous video worked, but now it also shows me the message while working elsewhere...) but the thing around Lute's arm is Adam's halo. Pretty sure the eggboiz were artificial demons so they wouldn't be up there.

Angelia Dark

I think what's most interesting is that Adam WAS right to an extent, and the Vees (especially Vox) are about to justify it. Can souls be redeemed? Yes. Do many WANT to be? No.

L Frances

Thoroughly agree with your thoughts on, erm, the denotation of the P word being way stronger than the word's used as. Besides basic misogyny & patriarchy, it doesn't really make any sense in practice. Ditto with the other gendered things denoting strength. Yeah, anyway, hard agree. Lilith's shoes feel more like a nod to the snake. Everything we see of her is coded to that original sin. I think us not seeing her eyes is more to add to that ambiguity. The idea that none of us can really know who Lilith was or what she wanted. Charlie has her own idea. It sounds like the masses of Hell might have other feelings, with how gung-ho they are to kill angels. Thing with Sera and the exterminations, it was confirmed in S1 that the exterminations were Adam's idea that she allowed to happen to keep Hell in line. So it wasn't her idea, but she still bears responsibility, regardless what her reasons were. Adam wasn't bad to Lute. He was a dick to everyone, and he definitely sassed her, but she was about as on-his-wavelength as anyone. But, he was also so egotistical that he lacked any emotional intelligence to recognize how Lute may have felt about him. And she was too satisfied with being his best bro, basically, to push further on that. Neither of them thought they'd ever run out of time, cause they didn't really believe they *could* die. And Lute going nuts like this plays into that; like somebody who's had her whole worldview and security shattered. Elijah v. bug is a full-on mini-arc. We'll never know how if the two of them made amends, or if their feud remains ongoing.

BGTitan

I’m so ready for Lute’s spiraling meltdown this season! Bitch about to cause so many problems on purpose let’s go!

Yaxin

For the use of the “puss” word,I always thought that it was because cats were the original puss therefore when calling someone that they really were saying scaredy cat but more aggressively?

L Frances

That is probably true, at least as far as its origins. And then at some point men started meaning it less about cats & more about women.

jellybrigades

I’ve never been a religious person, but didn’t angels handle most of the bloody jobs? Weren’t angels sent by God to deliver violent messages? If that’s true, I understand Sera choosing such an aggressive approach to Hell denizens she considered evil and unredeemable.

CodePhoenix13

I believe the term “pussy,” when used to describe someone as scared or cowardly, actually stems more from the idea of a “pussycat” or “scaredy cat” than from any reference to the female anatomy

Chloe Small

Do you know why they play disco in Heaven? Because disco is dead. *ba-dum-tish*

Christopher Malone

So it's not so wack if they are going the self-actualization route of judgment like they did in Lucifer. In that show, God did not judge the souls, souls judged themselves and if the soul on some level, even slightly felt they deserved punishment for what they did in life then they condemned themselves to hell. As the saying goes, each of us are our own worst critic, so the guilt Sir Pentious felt would probably be enough to send him down.

Vegvisir92

where is the Gravity reaction? sucks that she did it separately

Evil Queen

Fun fact: Liz Callaway the voice and singer of the Speaker of God is also the voice actress who voiced and sang for Anastasia in that movie. Also Patina Miller as Sera is fabulous, I saw her in Pippin a long time ago and her range is incredible. Also I would not lol.

Clockworkjohnny

So a possible answer to your question about pussy meaning coward might have something to do with the old word "pusillanimous", which is an adjective meaning timid or weak willed. I'm guessing that led to old world slang and insults like calling someone weak willed a pussycat or a "pussy Willow". Probably has absolutely nothing to do with the slang for vagina (honestly probably predates it) but because they literally use the same word for multiple meanings, it somehow ended up being correlated in the modern lexicon. At least that's my take on it.

House Of G

Little thing I noticed, in gravity, Lute's halo is black. And also, I LOVE ABEL LIKE HE IS SO CUTE.

NamelessSoul

They are already knocking it out. I feel so bad for Sir Pentious though (I also did not realize Serpent until they pointed it out 🤦‍♂️), he just wants to see his friends. Seras Confession is my second favorite of the season so far, the scene with her and The Speaker was beautiful and their voices complimented each others well. Now my favorite, absolutely Gravity!! Even having seen the MV and listening to nonstop it just goes so hard, from the lyrics to the visuals. Jessica's voice is incredible and the whole sequence was stunning, as you said - cinema! Also I forgot to mention it in the last but in glad for these reactions cause I dont really know a whole lot about the Hazbin lore so all the Rue theorizing is so interesting.

Dark Danny

I actually had this conversation with a friend right after Adam died in S1 and we saw Lute's reaction. Go back and watch S1 or look up Adam and Lute moments, not to state the obvious but their both terrible people and a lot of the time their on the same wave length ... also if i saw a couple doing the do, I'd look for like a second, i can't see myself watching the whole act, maybe if i was 14 but not at my current big age

Dark Danny

Yeah i was a bit annoyed but what can you do. There is no reaction, she saw it off camera

Ryan

One could read Sir Pentious' sin as Sloth. But it's not clear if it is his guilt that sent him to Hell, or his actions (or lack therefor of). I wonder if they will explain it... but it might be better to leave it open to interpretation. But, it could come down to the abridged version of the entire Bible: Jesus: "Love thy neighbor as you love thyself." Rando: "But what if-" Jesus: "Did I fucking stutter?" ---- "Gravity" absolutely fucks. If there's ever a Broadway version of Hazbin Hotel I have no fucking clue they're going to pull it off. ---- The first two episodes felt oddly paced compared to the first season, but then I realized - these are "day after" episodes. The status quo got fucked in every orifice clockwise from the left ear. Of course there's going to be aftermath.

og.monstr

Yeah, 'Gravity' is a new fave of mine as well. 😎 Lute's much more interesting of an antagonist than Adam, it'll be interesting to see how her mental breakdown affects everybody else in the series.

Dafydd Mac an Leigh

"If there's ever a Broadway version of Hazbin Hotel I have no fucking clue they're going to pull it off." You mean with blocking/choreography? Because both singers are Broadway performers, so the vocals shouldn't be too hard.

Dafydd Mac an Leigh

As I understand it, the word went from meaning "cat" to being used as a slang for "girl/young woman" and sort of branched off from there to "vulva" and later to "weak/effeminate man" and eventually "coward". No confirmation that "pusillanimous" is involved at all, although "pusillanimous" is still a great word that should be in everyone's vocabulary

Ryan

Yeah, I meant the blocking, the choreography, the wire work, the wings...

David Johnson

Honestly, "Speaker" looks an awful lot like one of the Goetia to me.

bigbutch

By the way im pretty sure the reason lute is so focused on vaggie and charlie instead of nifty is because they are a couple. Since lute liked adam and he died, she wants to do the same to them now. By killing either charlie or vaggie she will inflict pain on them, the same kind of pain she felt for a loved one. At least that's what i kinda got from it.

Vegvisir92

that really sucks, thats one of the main things i was looking forward to

Wixher

I actually have SO MANY feeling about the situation with Lute and feel so bad for her after breaking down what info we do have and got these last couple episodes. Considering that Adam was so heavily involved in the creation of exorcist angels that he was NAMING them (as Vaggie informed us last episode), the dynamic between him and Lute really boils down to being one of the most effed up cases of grooming I think I've seen in media. Because she's his right hand we can assume she's been alive for a LONG time at this point, so this poor girl has likely spent centuries having her entire world view skewed by the OG misogynist without any outside perspective (since Heaven clearly didn't seem to care what he said/did prior to learning about the exterminations) to make her realize she wasn't being treated appropriately/correctly as either a person or as Adam's subordinate officer. And like... if you've never had a close, deep relationship with a super abusive person it can be really hard to comprehend the way they get in your head and make you feel as though they're always in the right about things, even if logically in any other circumstance you'd recognize that their behavior isn't okay because your brain is literally rewired to accept the abusive behavior as normal. I'm betting that Lute's going to fall by the end of the season (or maybe next) and that she's going to have to get redeemed via the hotel largely by realizing how poorly she was actually being treated... and that it'll allow her the space to challenge all the beliefs he instilled in her up to this point, including the ones about Hell.

Serinthia Kelberry

"Tell someone you're the metatron and they stare at you blankly. Mention something out of a Charlton Heston movie, and suddenly, everybody's a theology scholar!!" Just...first thing I thought of, seeing the Speaker. People who get the reference are awesome.

Matthew Dunne

I will admit, some of the stuff around Pentious at the start did make me tear up. Also, being often a fan of the whole "self-aware hallucination points out that they don't independently know things", I find it hilarious that Lute's own image of Adam would have him be a dick about the fact that she can never know if he knew her feelings.

Jules

To be honest, I think Vox will win in the end of season 2. I think its gonna end with his victory as a cliffhanger and we see his eventual defeat and or death in season 3. He has the potential to be a big threat, considering hes on par with Alastor.

Matthew Dunne

I absolutely would not. I don't even like seeing other people hold hands.

Em

I love your reaction to gravity. It my favorite song so far too.

SauceyRed

45:40 WAIT BLAKE VOICED THE EGG BOIS?????? WHAT

SauceyRed

54:30 She addressed everyone in Heaven (not just winners), including angels born there, some of which probably have the power to travel between the realms (e.g. Emily, Abel, maybe dominions and virtues and others above winners, probably not any regular angels though).

SauceyRed

Oh right, regarding the "looking" thing asked during the Sir Pentious backstory, yes I would absolutely watch.

Moonlight Mariposa

Lute's crashout aside, I really do like how they're handling Sera - at least so far. Instead of having her double down once she sees what she did wasn't right and that she killed souls that could've potentially been redeemed she feels guilt. She's upset and wants to find a way to atone but doesn't know how and that's really refreshing. I really expected her to double down but it's nice to see her actually struggling to reconcile her actions with the type of person she wants to be.

Lisunavailable

God I hope,I just think it would be a great direction for the show to go.

bigbutch

Also cool thing, it makes way more sense why Sir Pentious design has a bunch of eyes. He watched people while alive, either sad or happy or literally dying, he was there always watching. It's a nice detail I'd say about his design.

BigPoppaJohn89

wow i never saw the faces in Lute's hemet glitch

bloodyshadow1

I think the reason the speaker doesn't have a problem with Lute cursing and being a bitch is kind of related to what you brought up last season. When Lucifer mentions sinners being given free will, you mentioned how it doesn't sound right to give people free will and then punish them for going against your rules. I think the Speaker doesn't mind what you do with your freewill she seems to be about forgiveness not judgement. it seems that god's will isn't the same as heaven's, maybe god doesn't actually care about what you do with your free will since it was a gift.

Lunna

If it makes you feel any better it took me until he said it to understand Sir Pentious's name too XD

Mazikeen Wagner

Thinking about how he named them all, her name Lute feels really messed up. He was playing her like an instrument. Either for literal centuries from back when lutes were proto-guitars or if more recent not even an instrument he likely respects.

Mictla

Dogma of course.

Bryn

I have a theory about Sera. We know she allowed exterminations because Hell was uprising. Those were her words “they were uprising, Emily!” Not “in case they uprise”. I wonder if Lilith had something to do with Hell’s uprising, and they had to contain her in Heaven to help ensure it didn’t happen again, and the exterminations were a precaution. Or perhaps someone (possibly Lilith) manipulated Sera into believing there was going to be an uprising so she would agree to exterminations. And that could help explain Sera’s reaction when Lute said she had talked to Lilith. Just a theory, but I feel like it’d make sense.

May

I wouldn’t say that many don’t want to be redeemed. Sure a good amount don’t want it like Alastor, but a lot of them just aren’t aware it’s possible. They ended up in hell and they thought there was no changing things. Naturally, a lot of them just accepted that as fact and saw no reason to change, especially given how ruthless hell can be. If you’re already in hell, what’s the point anymore. If sinners were aware of the possibility then many of them would want to try to be redeemed. Which is why this is kinda fucked up. If redemption was always a possibility then sinners should be aware of that. How can most of them try to redeem themselves if they think it’s impossible?

May

In all fairness, Adam did care at least a little about Lute. The look he gave her before dying is absolutely proof of that to me. That is a genuine look of someone who cares. And I can at least understand that for Lute, working for Adam was basically her purpose in life for who knows how long and now the life she was so incredibly accustomed to was ripped away. Perhaps in her eyes, Adam is the one who gave her purpose and thus she admired him greatly and ended up catching feelings.

NET_mancer99

I bet the reason Abel doesn’t like confrontation is because he was violently killed by his brother Kain

Milan Nelson

So I found this interesting. Look at Molly's face when Emily flies overhead. With Serpentious. In the song like you She doesn't look happy. Like all the other angels, she looks almost interested or concerned. My running theory is that maybe she knows that. He was in hell with Angel, so maybe in like the next few episodes we'll get a scene where Molly. Asking, Sir, pentios If like Angel is OK. That's just my theory. I could be totally wrong, which is more than likely.

Phoenix_mercury

Same, absolutely not. At most a double take of confusion if I actually saw what I thought then immediately nope-ing away, this sex repulsed ace would be feeling unwell

Skipp

Heaven doesn't seem to have any Therapy. Neither Lute nor Sir Pentious is really getting the help either need. Emily is really trying but is ultimately just saying "Everything here is happy, just be happy. Here is more STUFF be happy".

Bailey

This episode was absolutely incredible. 3 songs is wild, more of Heaven, and more Pentious! Lute is actually getting scary. I love her character and story and I'm so excited to see where she goes. I also do feel bad for her, even if she is an awful person. I love how complex these characters are. I love that we're getting more of Sera too. I love the direction they're going with her. She's remorseful for what she's allowed, but she knows that Hell is likely to want revenge, so it's a difficult choice for her. Emily is adorable and I love her, but girl can be a bit tone deaf at times lol. Her song was cute but poor Pentious...

Phoenix_mercury

Fr, like no wonder he's a "no thx I'll pass" guy, the last time he was in a confrontation he was murdered by his brother

Phoenix_mercury

The reason she believed they "was uprising" is bcz Adam said as such and that the exterminations was needed to protect heaven, it kinda became self fulfilling

man-of-bvz1n3ss

Either Lute falls and gets ironically redeemed through that, or she's unable to move on from Adam in a commentary on how some people just DON'T break out of the cycle of abuse. Either way, I'll be super interested.

Suplee215

I love having opinion some disagree a bit strongly with and then see a reactor also has it to an extent. Totally agree a system that puts Sir Pentous in hell for that is unfair. Hell is eternal pubishment worse than death. By no means did Pentious do the perfect thing, but depending on how much fear played a role you can argue he didnt even do anything wrong. Helping right then there could get himself killed. Telling someone after coukd get himself killed among other consequences accusing someone with power back then. Even if it was purely out of apathyy, what he did isnt even worth the death penalty let alone hell. Also we dont know who jack the ripper was. Theres a recent new theory that articles click baited with but theres no direct evidence linking to the crimes with perfect chain of custody. There were letters supposedly from jack the ripper years later but those were believed hoaxes

KylarStern1995

The speaker seems to confirm the existence of a god in this universe. In legend I am pretty sure God's Speaker is called the Metatron or Gabriel depending on the myth. We haven't heard or seen any of heavens big names. Gabriel, Azreal, Uriel, Raphael or most importantly Michael. Either they are trapped elsewhere or doing important celestial functions that demand all their time or they are all incredibly hands off.

KylarStern1995

Just as a list Michael- Supreme commander of the celestial host. Raphael- The Healer Uriel- The Wrath Azrael- The guide of the dead Gabriel- Gods messenger

Dominic Rogers

For a second misread Metatron as Megatron, and was entertained by that idea. "Peace through tyranny!" sounds like it would have been going through Adam's and Lute's head.

Suplee215

In defense of Serra'a decision, she didnt know redemption was possible. They dont even know why souls go to heaven or hell. They just appear. With that little information its easy to see why extrrmination was seen as the only option. Assuming the threat of rebellion is a legit threat. Which makes me believe there was a war between heaven and hell before. While it wasnt mentioned in the backstory at the beginning ofnthe show, most stories of Lucificer's fall includes a war. Wanting to avoid that again with hell gaining too many new souls to manage if they do go to war is fair. Now extermination is pretty crazy. There is an argument that some peoole might chose to no longer exist whether than be tortured forever and that is a fairer outcome for most people anyways. Anhilationism is becoming a popular idea among Christians. But as is its messed up but is the only solution they knew of. Or at least considered. I personally think the best way to prevent a rebellion is to make sure theres no reason to rebel. Which will involve making hell a better place to live.

Matthew Dunne

What I like about Gravity is that it's not only the darkest song in the series so far, it's the only one that isn't "fun" at all. Like, even Poison has the upbeat dance pop tempo for thematic reasons, but this is all grim brooding on pain and fury and the desire to murder out of bitterness.

Costia Rose

yes I would look, probably quickly turn away but yes. Also I agree... Lute is so freaking hot and I can't hate her... I just.. feel sorry for her. I also found it so interesting that Lute has not changed outfits and is still covered in "blood"

Phoenix_mercury

In regards to pen I've seen some people say that his sin was the sin of sloth, though I absolutely agree that even if he had said/done something it wouldn't have mattered because of what pen said about then man being powerful ect, it would have likely just had people not believe him and probably gotten him killed

Suplee215

If its the sin of sloth then I dont think the sin of sloth is worth eternal punishment worse than death. The impact of his actions don't get anywhere close to deserving thar. Although I do say this as someone who think the concept of hell is a unfair system in and of itself. But here it really highlights stuff.

jeremiah deparis

Hey I have an idea where I think this may end up, is it ok to post it here? Not sure how Ellijah (Im so sorry Im sure I spelled her name wrong) feels about being influenced by random people. But is it ok to talk about theories here or is that a YouTube thing?

Kyle Hennett

Got to love seeing Elijah jamming out to a song that is about having Her favorite Sapphic relationship torn apart by Lute plotting to kill Vaggie…..

Milan Nelson

So, another thing I wanted to share. In the song, Sera's Confession, towards the end, the speaker says, You speak of choices made by other voices. You can only atone once you speak for your own. If we're talking about the extermination, I was under the impression that Sarah did command it. But that line makes it sound like the speaker knows that someone encouraged Sera to do the extermination. Because if it's a choice made by somebody else's voice, that means that Sarah didn't get the idea to do that. Maybe I'm reading too far into the song, but that's just what it sounds like. Maybe it was Lilith, maybe it was Adam, who knows? There's food for thought, I guess. Also that might have already been talked about i just don't watch theorys

Gone

Re: the "would you watch" thing, I actually have a relevant story that happened real recently. I took a vacation to Chicago for a couple weeks (had a GREAT time, it was for the film festival, saw some amazing movies, great food, will definitely go again) and the hotel was laid out so you could look out some windows and see into the windows of some of the rooms. Unless they had their curtains drawn. One evening I was heading out and while I was waiting by the elevator, I looked out the window, mostly because from that window I could see the windows of my room. The room next to mine had its curtains wide open and they were just walking around in what looked like the total nude. I didn't straight up leer at them or anything, but there was a whole train of thought instead of just immediately averting my eyes. "Oh, I have neighbors. Wait, are they nude? Pretty sure they're nude. Do they know people can see them? Those are some wide open curtains. Should I be seeing this? I know people who are like this about nudity, so... maybe it's fine? Should probably err on the side of tact, though, cause- ope, elevator's here" kinda situation.

Saiyasha

Three Things: 1. The Halo around Lutes Arm is Adams Halo. i think she is just keeping it as a memento, it doesn't do anything. 2. Abels halo, I think, Is dented because, well, he got his head caved in by Cain. 3. I have a theory about what sends you to hell: Guilt. It doesn't really matter how small or big the sin is, if you feel that you are _guilty_ or that you belong in hell, that is where you go. Someone like Pentious carried that guilt, but probably felt like he could forgive himself because this time, he could even give his life to save his friends, finally atoning for what he did. But it even works for someone like Alastor. i don't think he feels _guilt,_ But he _does_ know that the actions he took were _wrong_ in the eyes of society. He knows he doesn't belong in heaven. Angel dust, too. He probably felt immense guilt and shame for being a mobster, for being gay, for doing drugs. All things society told him _would_ condemn him to hell and there he went, even though he did not chose the mobster life, being Gay is not something he can help and the drigs were a cry for help more than anything. Lastly, And maybe that's just me, I don't trust the speaker. This is two fold, one is probably just prejudice, between Supernatural and Good omens, the 'Metatron' or Voice of God is not a Character I easily trust. But in general: I understand the Idea that 'GOD' is too big, too much for human eyes and ears, that speaking to a human directly might destroy them so they need a middle man, an angel who's glory wouldn't immeaditly vaporise them Semele-Style, but I balk at the Idea that Angels would be just as affected. Which makes me ask: Why? Why use a middle man? How do we know that her voice is Gods voice? How do we even know that there _is_ a God? She is also entirly too sweet and She doesn't really answer any question posed to her and I DON'T TRUST IT!

LikeCat

I have very mixed feeling about the Speaker, mainly because of the Metatron. (More specifically Derek Jackobi as an actor - after the War Master I do NOT trust this man's characters in ANYTHING. - Great acting skills, and LOVE the Master/ Missy as a character... But it has that „edge" now - so by proxy anything that has any „Metatron vibes" to it in terms of character „motives")

RetroBeastto

Alright time to break out my Biblical studies. If I’m correct I believe the Speaker of God is based of the high ranked Angel Metatron who is “the voice of God”. Metatron is one of the selected few angels that’s actually allowed to speak and see God directly which is something Seraph angels are not allowed to do. Just based of what I’ve seen of that character I feel like she very much embodies that biblical character just based of this episode. Loving your reactions and keep up the good work

Serinthia Kelberry

"Tell someone you're the Metatron and they stare at you blankly. Mention something out of a Charlton Heston movie, and suddenly, everybody's a theology scholar!!"

Phoenix_mercury

The biggest problem with N3 is people like vox and Val, they *clearly* have no guilt ect, hell vox wants to get what he had on earth back again, he's literally trying to do it again therefore can't "think it was wrong" when he's going for round two but permanently(in his mind)

Phoenix_mercury

The sin of sloth is literally called one of the "seven deadly sins" that are(usually) punishable by hell, his inaction allowed 5 more women to be murdered without justice therefore the blood is on his hands too. Even though I do think that unless he had proof of something happening it could have been had for him(on earth) he still knowingly commited sloth, the impact of his actions(or lack of as that's what sloth is) was 5 women dead without justice

Phoenix_mercury

Iirc from what I've heard Viv said that Adam was the only person in heaven that actually took lute seriously, he also clearly cared enough to compliment her(praised for her kill count in ep one, with a nickname none the less), let her manhandle him, shush him, stop him doing what he wants(he wanted to start a fight with Charlie and vaggie and Lute reminded him about Seras rule and he listened despite complaining), he backed her up in her section in you didn't know, the only time he was actually "mean" to her was during the battle in ep 8 which fair enough as tensions are high and she was literally pointing out the obvious which he called her out on yet he said one comment and that's it, clearly they at least had a good bond even if lute possibly felt stronger than Adam, even if they both felt the same way it also makes sense why neither said anything and just left their(comfortable) relationship as it was, they did think they *needed* to say anything as they presumed they had the rest of eternity to chill

Suplee215

Yea. A book says its a bad sin. I disagree with the book. 5 people dead without justice by someone else's hands is not worth a fate worth than death. Its a tragedy and bad thing but the bar required for eternal punishment is pretty high. In 500 years no one will remember anything about Jack the ripper and yet sir pentious will still be in hell being tortured. And thats not even a fraction of his sentence.

Izuku’s Notebook

Fun fact! So "pussy" is actually short for "Pusillanimous" which means 'showing a lack of courage or determination; timid'! It was only until a certain gender started using the word to belittle women. Kinda like when they say "You run like a girl" c;

RenaissanceM

I’m not sure if this is accurate, but I assumed pussy in that context meant like a Cat. Like when you’re calling someone a “Pussy” you’re basically calling them a scaredy cat. Just meaner. 😂👍

RenaissanceM

Pretty sure the entity called the “Speaker of God” is supposed to be what Moses heard in the burning bush. If so, that’s pretty cool. Side note, I’m not sure if you’ve ever seen or reacted to Prince of Egypt, but if not you absolutely should. It is INCREDIBLE. Especially the burning bush scene.

RenaissanceM

Gravity is ABSOLUTELY the best song of these first two episodes. I’m glad you agree. 😁 Sera’s Confession is a very close second though, probably because it’s on nearly the opposite side of the spectrum. Sera and Lute both now share the weight of the consequences from their extermination plan. For Lute it’s the fact that it got Adam killed, and for Sera it’s now the curse of knowing that souls she authorized for extermination could very well have been saved. Sera manifests this in a song where she’s literally begging for guidance cause she no longer trusts herself to do the “right thing” and speaker explains how THAT’S part of her punishment. The guilt and uncertainty are her cross to bear while she seeks to atone. IF she seeks to atone. Lute manifests this pain & guilt into a song of cold, bloody, single minded vengeance.

RenaissanceM

This episode, for me at least, pretty effectively solidified that this universe is operating on Sandman & Lucifer Rules for Hell. There is no “Divine Judgement”, mortal souls go where they WANT to go. Or in the case of Ser Pentious, where they believe they DESERVE to go. Lucifer said it best in Sandman when they explain that the truth & arguably the curse of free will is that that mortals bear the responsibility of their actions. Hell is a place for dead mortals to torture themselves for eternity rather than forgive themselves and work to atone for their sins. All the while they have the excuse of saying “Oh the devil made me do it” thereby absolving themselves of all responsibility and allowing themselves to wallow in suffering for eternity.

RenaissanceM

Why did Lute love Adam? Uhh maybe because she’s a violent sadistic murdering sociopath and he enabled all of her worst qualities for his own benefit. 😅 Seriously though, we see it in her breakdown in the Alleyway. It’s clear that she’s not used to feeling anything besides rage, anger, and spite. It’s like she’s fighting the sadness she feels, but can’t stop the tears.

LikeCat

That WHOLE interaction in Sandman is PERFECT. (Be it the comics or the show) Lets be real most of Sandman is very quoteable, it is life lessons with an interesting premise - story-line(s) vise --> the Volumes that were „filler"

man-of-bvz1n3ss

Given that Lute was presumably created as an Exorcist to serve Adam, I feel like her falling in love with him is only to be expected. Her entire purpose is to serve him, she's spent years working for him, and he enables her bloodlust. And even though he treated her like shit she still goes back to him because she thinks that's how love is expressed. Honestly, if I saw a couple banging in a window, I think I'd constantly be looking away and then whipping back until I eventually got far enough away from them. The idea of Hell operating on Sandman rules where you're only there if you think you need to be punished is a GREAT one. My theory was that it operates more on "socialized/selfish" rules rather than "good/evil". "Not the good kind." "Valid!" Wow, surprised to see you agreeing with Adam on something! Oh, that Tomotasauce bit sounds hilarious!

Absolutely agree, Pentious did not deserve the eternal torment that Heaven sees necessary. Was it the right thing? No. Does that justify horrific actions? Also no.

Im not even convinced it wasnt the right thing for him. Ethics or morality is situational. Its possible he would have been murdered or imprisoned or any number of things if he went to the authorities. Do you risk it? This is real life context I am using but the jack the ripper murders happened in an extremely poor area. He does have to consider the risk to himself as well. There are legit reasons the lower class avoid the cops. But yea even in the worse case scenario it wasnt the right thing but not worth eternal damnation. I do wonder of his own guilt plays into it although there are clearly narcissistic type people in hell who dont feel guilty.

Phoenix_mercury

The issue with that is people like the v's... They clearly don't think they "should" be in hell

Sera's Confession is such a beautiful song.

Fair point, but I don’t know. I honestly think they’re exactly where they want to be. I mean Vox was a cult leader, Val was presumably a pimp, and Velvette was likely the Devil Wearing Prada :P So a realm where they could continue with all the crimes and abuses they committed in life with zero consequences seems right up their alley. They sure seem to have made the most of it. Heck the only reason they even care about Heaven now is because Charlie helped prove that angels could be killed. Vox actually had to talk Val & Velvette into his scheme because initially they don’t seem to care at all about getting to heaven. Vox only seems to care because he’s a deeply insecure man with a raging Ego that wants to be a God.

Viv has confirmed that God will not be a character. In Viv’s hellaverse/heavenverse God is not a actual being but the personification of good and heavenly deeds/actions.

Human Pentious is giving so many Viktor from Arcane vibes <3

Rebel Pilot

Damn,i really hope future seasons wont spoil the songs before its released.

Vegvisir92

Please try to avoid watching awesome stuff if they release before the season...especially if you don't actually do any reaction to it...Gravity was by far the best song in this season and you didn't react to it...

Vegvisir92

to be fair.... She could've avoided it if she wanted to...its her choice to have not waited and reacted.....which majorly sucks....weird choice honestly.......i blame Elijah more than the show...she could've easily decided not to watch it herself

PinkClouds94

I'm pretty sure that's Adam's halo on her wrist. With how obsessed she is with him, it makes sense that she would keep it Also Abel's halo is bent and his teeth chipped bc of how he died lol Cain beat him in the head with a rock

Revan

It's doubly ironic when you consider how getting kicked in the groin is considered massive for males, and how weak it is when it comes to pain.
