Hey Elijah hope you see this. Behind the scenes stuff about where Scanlan IS... After what was the S3 finale (Bard's Lament) - for the most part at least (it ended with a much nastier "break-up" between Scanlan and the rest of VM) - Sam was the one playing Tary at the table. But they changed the VA because A. Sam's IRL health stuff (his Cancer) B. He himself said it that his voice for Tary wasn't that different at the table and might confuse fans as to why he voices two different characters with basically the same voice in the show.

Arky

Idk what it is but there's a weird static sound throughout the video

Also fun fact Sam had to go through a lot of loopty-loops (obligatory Dropout reference) to have the "Doty - Himself" at the cast list

The intro is still the same as last season. Ripley died with the demon near the climax. That corrupted priestess that Pike fought is who helped her back in Season 1 when she couldn't use her powers. "We are his blood" is the phrase of a certain entity that was talked about back in Season 1 when they fought the Briarwoods. I would recommend a rewatch or a recap.

It still amazes me that you were able to get some very talented voices for your show as an independent animated series. This season of Vox Machina is actually the penultimate season with season 5 being the conclusion of the story as confirmed, which is great as a TV series getting to tell it's complete story.

Tim Porkroll

It's always fun whenever people other than Laura, Ashley, and Sam get to sing. Travis killed it with the recap song. I don't know if you've heard their holiday album, but the whole cast sings as their various characters across all three campaigns, and it slaps.

Clockworkjohnny

I would at least suggest you rewatch the first season because this season is very much connected to it. Priestess Talia was the head cleric at the temple where Pike went in season one to reconnect to the everlight.

Honesty, who can blame Elijah for using the opportunity to brag about scoring Matt Mercer as a VA for TEA? Even if she can't quite believe it herself! Edit: Ok, so it wasn't just me who got Seahawk vibes from Tarry!

I didn't immidiately but as soon as someone in the Beacon Discord pointed it out I went "So that is why Tary feeled so familiar" so I enjoy that she immidiately clocked that similarity (for obvious reasons) - And I love Seahawk

SauceyRed

Yayyy! Finally! So Mondays is Vox Machina day for you and Morgan, good to know! Also as a couple others have mentioned, if you don’t quite remember stuff, I also recommend watching a recap video or something.

Great fun to return to VM! 😄 But what's up with that static noise throughout the vid?

Helen Dingo

I mean, to that, Sam already fully changed Scanlan's voice in the show. In the campaign he had a generic "Fantasy British Accent" just like most of Vox Machina had.

Dragon0921

5:00 - During this song, all the cast make an appearance as the crowd chanting "Fuck shit up!" You can see Travis, Sam, Laura, Liam and Ashley at 5:01 and Matt and Marisha at 5:08 on the left corner! 5:29 - Critical Role logo under the mug! 16:03 - Taryon was originally Sam's second character when he was taking a break from Scanlan. For the animated series however, Sam felt his voices for Scanlan and Tary were too similar. Instead of trying to make a more distinct voice (and possibly to give Sam a break as he was most likely recovering from his cancer treatment at the time), they got Wayne Brady for voice Tary! 18:45 - In the campaign the title of "Grand Mistress of the Grey Hunt" was something Vex'ahlia actually had to earn, despite Percy giving her the title to boost her status in front of her father. She was tasked with killing a creature known as a Gray render by the Dawnfather to earn her new title. 31:39 - Talia was the priestess who helped Pike reconnect with the Everlight ALL the way back in season 1 when Pike split up with the group.

First "I'm Sapphic, and I'm weak" of this season. And definitely not the last...

DarkDragon77

I keep wondering if the orb is connected to the evil god that Zerxus talked about in season 3 during his game with Pike or if it’s connected to an even older eldritch god that hasn’t been mentioned yet

Aineyn

Hi! So, you mentioned in the video that you might need to do a rewatch and, truthfully, I recommend it, at least for season 1, because with the orb and all, it's clearly making a comeback. There's also another story element that is upcoming, related to basically the last episode of season 3, but somehow kinda easy to forget, at least that's how I feel like. Like, I remember it when they bring it up, but beyond that it's not in my mind. So, something else you might want to watch! Or keep yourself surprised with season 4! :p My point is, some stuff from previous season matters here!

King Black

there's a weird static sound throughout the video hope you fix it soon for future videos

Chet Bliese

Is that phrase a T-shirt yet?

Ryan

It could be a whole series of T-shirts tied to every one of Elijah's many Sapphic "Yes, mommy" moments.

bandi138138

Season 1 rewatch would DEFINITELY be helpful for this season

Zakry

As others have said, there is a weird static for most of the video don't know if you can do anything about it or not but thought i would also mention it

Lando

Yayyyy so hyped to see Elijah watch what is so far easily the best season of Vox Machina

Mélanie Gravel

"I am having a moment... and it is sapphic." Oh, I should remember to pause when I watch you reactions and I have to drink. Also, if it makes you happier, Vex, like Vax too, is canonically bisexual. Remember that Tiefling, Zahra, from season 1? Yup. ;)
