The really impressive thing is that with this being Luna's first appearance after the series premiere, this especially obsessive bunch of fans had more than a year to come up with their own headcanons of what her personality was like and how she'd react to coming back after so long. So her finally getting a canon personality could have gone horribly with everyone refusing to accept that it wasn't exactly like their idea. But this episode turned out so well that by and large they immediately took to it.

It IS Tabitha St. Germain (the voice of Rarity) voicing Luna. Rarity was meant to be in this episode as well, but either for time reasons, or because both her and Luna sound so similar, her scene was cut. If you’ll notice, you see that she’s the only one of the Mane Six who doesn’t appear in this episode.

I like what they did with Luna and the Nightmare Moon statue. They have her lying down in the statue’s shadow, which is a quiet way of showing that Luna, while wanting to do better, may always live in the shadow of her evil self’s actions.

I'd assumed that Luna had been resting/recovering post return after everything she'd been through and nmn was her first venture back out(a holiday around "her" to reframe is a smart idea) but celestia failed to catch her up on the modern day(or decided to let her pupil put her lessons on friendship to work helping Luna)

I don't think that's the moral of the episode. It's that some things have changed during the time she's been gone so she had to catch up on the current times. Also at the end of the day, it's discovered they like it when Luna is being scary so she can still go back to the older ways when necessary like the Canterlot voice and stuff.

Honestly if not mistaken alot of people of the Fandom (including myself) have all loved andor liked Luna in general, rather it being her personality and or even her design too. I always loved Luna Honestly and definitely one of my favorite princesses, and yes you arent the only one thats as drawn too her based on her design alone xD
