KNIGHTS ASSEMBLE!!!!!

The Gwen robot moving like this feral thing was so fascinating to watch. She swings back and forth between endearing and very creepy.

DarkGodHao

Coughing while watching KoG is ironically appropriate given the world building

Karma Wolf

My take on Sparky's line about dames and disemboweling pervert husbands is that he's planning on renting out Gwen as a sex droid...and doesn't want her damaging the customers. But I could be wrong.

Amaya Harig

I'm not sure how far the show is willing to go but since Andi mentioned a blow up doll (I know Andi probably meant it as a joke) I wonder if there could be some Gewns that are used for some people's sick pleasures, I wouldn't shock me that some people may invest in Gwen droids for sex work 😰😰😰😰😰 (similar to Fizz or the female and male Androids in DBH)

Ryan

Take a shot for every reactor who instantly recognizes the VA of "Patience". *hic* ... Weird design choice that all of the nurses' faces are frozen with the eyes looking up and to the side. Like they are always looking away; unable to make eye contact with Olivia. It may be foreshadowing or ominous subtext ... or it may be a nod to the "Dreamworks smile". 17:45 I think what Sparky was suggesting was that he would rent out Gwen to some rich pervert - as he said in the pilot, "some of his best customers" - for some sick shit. And it is generally bad for business when your customers get disemboweled or dismembered. Unless they're into that. In which case you charge them extra. The cosplays from this show are going to be fucking amazing. Somewhere out there is a one armed nerdess who is like "fucking finally, a character only I can cosplay!". 35:09 I think the style change is deliberate. It gives it a motion blur effect. But if it is a last minute "re-shoot" they did an amazing job of making it feel like it was on purpose. Disney villains fall from a great height into metaphorical hell. Park Planet villains gets disemboweled and dismembered. Sparky was right to be worried about his clients. --- I introduced my niece to The Owl House when she was maybe four. She loved it. I think I'll wait until she's a teenager to introduce her to this.

Lydia-the-insane

Awesome reaction Elijah! I hope you feel better soon, but the reaction was awesome regardless! Also the line about the "dame" was Sparky talking about the hypothetical wife of the "pervert husband" he's planning to sell Gwen to, his fear is he sells it to a man to be a blowup doll as they mention later and then Gwen goes berserk and kills the man and the wife gets angry. I've seen a few people get confused at that line so I think it was just a weird writing choice.

David Johnson

Oh, I just learned from another reaction that when Andi and Frankie shut off the security cameras, there's a brief flash of a QR code in the upper right hand screen that takes you to a hidden page on the Gwen website.

RaisedEyebrow

The "some dame" bit was probably a hypothetical by Sparky about what COULD happen if he sold a defective Gwendroid. I don't THINK Arthur is the husband... but don't quote me on that.

The Akimbo Knight

Even if only two episodes have ben released this has already become my top favorite glitch show. Dana and the crew cooked HARD with this one !

Taigan

No, that’s exactly right. Elijah is just too sweet and innocent to realize.

Lil Ferret

Just some animator input: That transition sequence when she was going up the vents was def a type of smearing. I sincerely doubt it was just a rough animation sequence they left in for time. ( not that we don't take the opportunity to cut corners where we can in order meet a deadline, I for sure have lol, but I don't think it's the case here.) What tells it for me is 1) it's not just the line art being scratched in very diagonal strokes and the similarly scratchy marks on the inside of the silhouette, ( principal of design: diagonal lines convey movement and energy therefore used in smears) but that the dark blue for the shadow on the tentacles are drawn like that too. Which means the compositors made them scratchy on purpose as well. That seems very deliberate to me. 2) Because of the short depth of field, it puts her frame into focus. Which tells me they wanted her form to be readable. Even if it's just for a second, your brain still registers it. So using a more exaggerated smear would have made it look faster than the scene calls for, and would've look odd. So they use this much more subtle type of smearing that still has the speed effect while still making her distinguishable. I mean could be wrong of course, It's possible they exaggerated/repurposed one of their roughs, but even then it still seems intentional to me. I have also personally used a similar technique for subtle smearing.

KyleIronheart

Not me finding out from this episode that Eden Riegel, sister of the great Sam Riegel of CR fame, is both Basha and Guine's voice actor lol

Patneu

Yup, that's exactly what this is. No deeper implications for the Park family that Sparky shouldn't know about anyway. And there are many other references to people wanting to use Gwen like that as well.

SauceyRed

HOW DID YOU POST AN IMAGE?!? HELLO???

SauceyRed

I love everyone immediately recognizing Patience's voice (even if some don't recognize it as Luz immediately) Sarah-Nicole has such a recognizable voice (and manner of speaking ofc), like Alex Hirsch I did NOT, however, recognize Zeno Robinson's voice until Mosco pointed it out lmao

DarkGodHao

So i'm on Patreon app on my phone and apparently there's images icon in the comments on here 🙃 Or we can call it magic....

SauceyRed

Woah you’re right! I guess it’s only available on the mobile app, and I’m guessing it’s a setting the creator has to enable since it’s not available on others I’m subbed to. Huh, neat.

Miranda Corvus

The brief flashback when her face is ripped off shows a larger hand than Olivias, indicating Orville hurt her too Likely why she killed him

Helen Dingo

It's not a weird writing choice, it's people not reading bewteen the lines. Mosco picked up what Sparky meant pretty quickly. I think people just never connect an animated series making a reference to a sex doll android, so it flies over their heads.

Helen Dingo

Armend was the park officer. Jason Marnocha has been in multiple Glitch projects. He was a secondary main character in Season 2 and 3 of Meta Runner, Glitch's first show, he had a brief cameo in Murder Drones as the "Zombie Drones" educational tape narrator, he voices Ken the Butcher (the dad) in The Gaslight District, and he's also done a ton of other shows, games, and anime. If you've consumed media in the past decade, you've heard him in something.

Helen Dingo

I'm expecting to hear Mae Whitman at some point in the series. (Amity's VA)

Henkotron

Forget favorite GLITCH show. KoG is climbing the ladder of general favorite show for me right now.

TiroOnaka

Ok, assuming that Gwen has some kind of anti-kill protocol for humans as many robots do and Olivia was the one working on her all the time I think its very likely that Olivia was the one who had Gwen kill Orville because Orville killed her mom when she was a kid. If Orville was an abusive piece of shit all the time its possible that Olivia was the one who helped her mom get patched up when she was hurt, until Orville went so far he killed her, thus causing Olivia's own trauma. Because in one picture she has black hair (like Orville, pre-mom's death) and then she has blonde/silver hair (presumably like her mom, post-mom death). Olivia being so obsessed with "fixing" Gwen all the time could be because that's what she used to do for her mom and then had to do to Gwen because she was supposed to be a replacement. There are also some theories that Orville was abusive to Olivia too and she was taken from him for a time, or lived with her mom, which is why Orville welcomes her back in the beginning of episode 1.

Angelus Lupus

The way I see it (hypothetical): Sparky sells Gwen as sexbot, Gwen does... that thing with the tongue.. and presto! disembowelled pervert. Coulda said "castrated" or something else that emphasised which bit of the pervert was affected, but I thought the idea was clear.

Rupert Anderson Jr

Frankie either used that healing tech on herself off screen or she's just built different.

Angelus Lupus

52:40 For the record, Mosco's reaction to the tendrils-in-the-wound gore was (quote): "SHIT, SHIT, FUCK!"

Joshua Persons

There's actually a few sexual references in this episode! When Sparky's talking about dames and pervert husbands, he's essentially planning to... erm... "lend her out" for money. But also, when the undercover cop talks to Gwen and the person over the phone, there's a serious sexual undertone to the whole thing. Plus, a little joke about "canon age", since most Disney Princesses are actually teenagers!

Sir_Adamus

yeah i think people are missing the context of the previous line (because i've seen a number of people misinterpret what's happening in this scene) when Sparky says "how am i supposed to sell this?", he's then presenting a hypothetical scenario of what might happen. it's not referring to Arthur at all

Sir_Adamus

i think it's also just people missing the previous line when they wind it back, because "how am i supposed to sell this?" frames what Sparky means pretty clearly

Marion Ette

... what are you even on about? "How am I supposed to sell this?! Last thing we need is some dame-" He's clearly talking about the potential customer he was literally just talking about. Edit: Frankie got HANDS!

Sev the Hollow

Anyone ever play Resident Evil? I kind of expected the Park Cop to come back like a stalker enemy (Mr. X, Tyrant, and a few others I can't full remember) is it weird I'm a bit bummed out they killed him off so early? Those were my thoughts about this episode and wondered what everyone else thought of too

Marion Ette

That's literally not even the father's name; the subtitles call him Orville.

Marion Ette

Not even a "reading between the lines" issue, since it's just straight up the writen text of the dialogue. Complexity addiction from lorehunting is just poisoning peoples media literacy.

Lydia-the-insane

I don't know about that, its fun to do lorehunting and theory crafting, plus being a reactor is a fine line of "just sitting there doing nothing" and "adding to the reaction." No matter what they do reactors arent going to please everyone but they still want it to be entertaining for the people who pay money to see it

Lydia-the-insane

By "weird writing choice" i mostly meant the dialog choices, I think the other person had the right idea saying that some people dont go back far enough since the line "How am I supposed to sell this?" Explains the entirety of what Sparky is trying to say

Sir_Adamus

Orville is Olivia's father. Armend is the park cop, you recognise his VA, Jason Marnocha, as Ken from Gaslight District, and Jor-El (Clark's Kryptonian father) from My Adventures with Superman

Eric Smith

Arthur is the big light up face guy with the sword that Olivia went nuts on with a mop. Elijah seems to be thinking of "disembowling" as referring to what Gwen did to him in the pilot.

ArcticBanana

Gwen kind of feels like a combination of Alita from "Battle Angel" and Lucy from "Elfen Lied", with a bit of Gollum. 21:58 - I love that they animated Krash removing his gloves correctly. Good to know that our underground medical practitioner knows proper procedure.

Chance

I'm sorry you're not feeling good apparently my entire family well actually me and my oldest sorry I currently have my I currently have my baby kitty in here with me and messing with me he is she's a really big but anyway I'm sorry that you didn't that you're sick I'm really sorry about that I turned it sick around this time of year too but I don't I don't exactly have the best immune system I'm actually a immunother compromise so yeah and I can't remember if it was Thursday I don't like a really bad migraine on Thursday and it wasn't as bad on Friday I was still doing with like the aftermath of it and now it's just been like coming and going and then after that I got a really bad toothache and because I actually have any lots of a lot of damaged teeth because a dental disease is so but yeah I'm so sorry you're sick but hey at least at least your baby is there and I hope the two of you get to snuggle in bed and just keep each other company I'm sorry you're having to work but I am what I am too and yeah I hope you feel better soon I really hope you feel better soon lots of love and warm wishes from your favorite from one of your biggest fans the Vampire Queen

Lilac Chimera

I think you might be giving this unnamed “other person” more credit than they deserve. I do like the “Gwen was made from a human” theory, but I’m pretty sure the red eyes and being violent is just trauma, no other person necessary. She’s been abused her whole life and is scared and fighting back because she hallucinated past events over what’s actually happening. I also think that with the amount of subtle references to sex bots/SA (the bot with fishnets, the “blow up doll” line, everything with the cop) I think the show is going in the direction that Orville took advantage of Gwen and she killed him.

Tarot-Sovereign

Elijah. You sweet innocent bean. Sparky is talking about selling Gwen as a sex bot.

Nancy Ottavi

I've been thinking of her two personalities as Guinevere and Gwen. When the princess comes out that's Guinevere and the more violent one is Gwen.

Bailey

I love how Gwen is genuinely scary lol. She really gave some FNAF vibes this episode. And it's nice seeing her be more of a character now. We didn't get much from her outside the intro in the first episode. I love how she strikes a balance between creepy and adorable. Also damn, Sparky ended up being worse than I thought before. Dude is scary. I'm interested to see where this goes. Also I hope you feel better soon Elijah! Or I guess rather I hope you're feeling better by now lol Edit: Wait, THAT was why they suspended your account? For having too many people watching?? that is so dumb lmao
