Ah yes, the best way to not get used to a voice: being insistent that you’re not going to get used to the voice. As one of the people who started watching after season one was released and didn’t realize there was a pilot until I was caught up… it helps to get more used to the voice you’re actually going to be hearing for seasons of episodes 😂

My thoughts just before watching are that I was super excited for this! This is one of the best episodes and a really good way to establish there's more to these characters under the surface. I love this show so much and I'm excited for the future reactions. Also a fun bit of backstory behind Stolas is that he's based on the Ars Boetia Prince of the same name from the Lesser Key of Solomon. A book written about a variety of demons and how to summon them. Stolas is primarily associated with astronomy, though is also associated with precious stones, plants, and herbs. I believe there's 72 Goetia demons in total and their ranks go from King, Duke, Prince, Marquise, Earl, Knight, and President

A fan theory is that since the demon stolas biblically reads the stars to predict the future. The song "you will be okay", he sings to Octavia is him maybe referring to his own death and that she will be fine but also even if creation ends she herself will be okay as well. (Please correct me if I got any part of the theory wrong. It's been a while lol)

Love your reaction I just... don't get the hatred for Millie's voice. Granted, I might be a tad biased due to having several friends who watched comment that she sounds just like me, even though I personally don't think so. But heck, I can barely even tell the difference between this voice and the voice she has in the pilot, so what do I know.

Good, been looking forward to this for weeks. Elijah's reaction to the lullaby was everything I expected it would be. It's funny how much we can empathise with Stolas when he's a big owl guy with four red glowing eyes that don't usually have pupils. And yeah, his voice actor is a Broadway performer. Also, Fizzarolli is played by Alex Brightman, Broadway's own Beetlejuice.

And, as a Prince, he has great magical power, hence why he could effortlessly turn that assassin to stone. I tend to think he only asked IMP to come along so he could spend time with both of the people he cares about.

Look I get it when a show changes voice actors it can be jarring, confusing, and sometimes infuriating. Believe me I've gotten upset over characters voices being changed in other shows myself, most recently when pretty much the entire Hazbin Hotel cast being replaced for the A24 series. I don't care who plays Angel Dust in the series it'll never be the same as Michael Kovach. But at the end of the day these are Vivzie's characters and we have no right to say what she can and cannot do with them all we can do is either watch or don't.

It’s funny, cause I had the opposite reaction to Millie’s voice than yours. Not that I hated her voice in the pilot or anything like that – but I absolutely LOVED her new voice. Especially this episode and onward – I always loved how she said, “Look Moxie, a thing! I don’t know – different people, different opinions and all that. Oh, and your intro with the pig was super cute!

As an alternative to saying what the creator is allowed to do with their work, a person can also watch it while also expressing their honest opinion about how a voice sounds to them compared to another. I think it's also worth keeping in mind that for Elijah the original Millie voice and general portrayal (which seems to have resonated particularly with her) was still fresh on her mind, compared to those of us who had a gap of more than a year between pilot and episode 1.

All I'm saying is Vivian Nixon doesn't deserve the hate, she is merely doing what Vivzie told her to do be hyperactive and have an annoying Southern drawl.

Elijah has flat out said in both reactions to Episode 1 and 2 "I hate Millie's new voice".

Wait, is that really how Vivzie described it? An "annoying" southern drawl? As someone who has been told by multiple people that they think Millie's new voice sounds just like mine... that kind of stings.

I don’t get the Millie hate LOL but to each their own! For what it’s worth the new voice is what Viv always had in mind for the character they just had to double up Erica Lindbeck for the pilot due to time/casting restraints. I still think you will come to tolerate it if not love it! Episode 5 in particular has some great Millie stuff.

The performance is not the performer. And I think it may not have come up in quite the same way in this episode had the comments for the last one not been full of people insisting that the new voice would grow on her. Even then I thought people were getting really pushy about that.

Maybe we were being a bit pushy but Elijah isn't even giving her a chance she heard one line from Vivian's version and was like "Nope don't like it and never will".

I do think the voice will eventually grow on you just for the fact that after episode 3 she seems to be a lot more comfortable & confident with the lines. Because I will tell you I didn’t like her new voice for a long time, but in like episode 5 or 6 I really became comfortable with the voice. I still wish she sounded like she used to, but I have actually come to like her new voice.

I often find myself wondering what the worse part of that imp butler's day is: Stella slinging him around asking if Stolas wants to fuck him, or Stolas saying that of course he doesn't. Like, what's wrong with him?

Trust me, once you get to episode 5, it will become much more clear why they added the accent to her character
