We actually came hair-raisingly close to this being the end of the show. Alex Hirsch wasn’t prepared at all for how exhausting it would be to run his own show (he was only 27 when it started) and fully intended to leave it at one season, cliffhanger and all. Then none other than Jon Stewart, who’d become a huge fan and friends with Hirsch, was horrified to learn about it and convinced Hirsch to give the show just one more season so it could have a proper ending.

Mabel got the grappling hook in the first episode, when Stan lets them both take something from the gift shop (Dipper chooses the hat he's worn ever since). Throughout the whole season, everyone was wondering if she'd ever actually use it, as referenced by Dipper saying it's never been used before.

With the exception of Episodes 6 and 16 (Which in my opinion is probably the Worst Episode of the show) every Episode of Season 2 has plot relevance.

Also you have the luxury of watching these now, for us that watched the show as it happened we had to wait literally a day shy of a year between the Season 1 Finale and the start of Season 2.

Fair to say S2 Ep16 is the worst episode, but I don't think it's a bad episode by any means. Also, I personally like that episode better than "Fight Fighters"

The series doesn't center around LGBTQ+ representation or heavily on any type of relationship straight or otherwise. It only drops hints, like another hint that's stronger than Mabel's sexuality is that the two Gravity Falls police officers are a couple. A while back I looked things up mainly for Wendy and for Mabel but I found confirmation from the creator that both Wendy and Mabel are confirmed Bi.
