This is the episode where things definitely started to feel off for me in regards to the quality. It’s not awful by any means but you can definitely tell that the showrunners are different. The original ones left to do the Kite Man spin-off and while that does give me more faith in that show, I’m really hoping the show doesn’t start to drop in quality too much.

I'll try not to keep this comment too long but I do wanna let u know my feelings on this season and a bit more explanation on why it is the way it is as well. So this episode in particular is, not great it honestly frustrated the hell out of me but I wanted to push through and I'm happy to say I actually loved the rest of the season especially episode 7. it only goes up from here in my opinion. Like you mentioned it feels like the writers were really unsure of where to go from where it left off in season 3 and especially with ivy. She would never join the LOD and this whole arc feels backwards on her character. There's also the fact that the writers and animators had less than a year to work on this season. Meanwhile, season 3 was worked on for 2 years and seasons 1 and 2 were written originally to be one season and that's why they're so great. Speaking of the animation, there is a lot of wonky animation this season which is sad to see but I can't blame the animators for that at all either. They've actually been trying to unionize to have better working conditions but haven't been able to do so and unfortunately that results in what we got this season. Finally I know a lot of people didn't enjoy this season and your opinions are completely valid. I just have a bias towards this show because of it being the first lgbt show I ever watched so I honestly could never hate it. The end of this season has me hopeful that they can do better with season 5 which I hope they can still have. I totally get how u feel I felt it halfway through the season too but I really appreciate you still continuing to watch and I hope you enjoy the rest at least a little bit :)

Yeah, the middle stretch of the season is a real slog, but thankfully things improve next episode, which I'm pretty certain you'll enjoy.

I didn't know that the OG show runners had dipped (and for a Kite-Man spinoff!? That'd be like following up Supergirl with a Young Lex show!) That... explains the season. They should have asked the writers on Legends of Tomorrow for help. That show (organically) reinvented itself every season, and got better every season, too. Edit: Rewatching the season 3 finale... I feel they might have been locked into the "Ivy becomes CEO of the LOD" arc, but I don't think it should take all season to pivot... The "what the fucks!?" will continue until the season ends.

Agree with all said here. The tone is just not quite right this season. Granted, I never understood how they ever arrived at much less sustained the tone they had before.... It was... certainly one of a kind. lol I enjoyed the Lex storyline the most. The last part of the season was my favorite bit.

My problems with this season - (And you will see at the end of the season as well.) - is how this whole season is actively trying to revert everything back to how it was. Trying to undo. Like the new people got here and said, "no fuck this I liked the show better in the first two season". The reason its so shitty, bc a show should begin and end with different main characters. Meaning, there should be an immense amount of character development. Especially in the time frame of 4 season, and every single season should be pushing towards a new version of our characters. (So the finale will be satisfying.) Not reverting them. Season 3 was actively doing that. Even if that season the show had a major decline in quality, it still felt like we were going somewhere. This season just feels like we are going backwards. Characters going back on plot lines that were already explored, or just doing something downright not like them. Honestly this show is just like killing eve. (Which you should watch if you haven't.) First two seasons are gold then the rest SHIT. Sad to see.

- Side note: Also with reverting your characters, and starting over. It makes it feel like we have wasted time, and every season should be crucial. Like if I can go from season 3; skip season 4; and dive straight into season 5, and everything still make sense. The show didn't do it's fucking job.

Din't want to spoil but there is something that they did with one of the character in that second half that make me said: Ok I think I should drop the show, it's not that fon anymore.

I like this whole season. And I'm perfectly fine with being in the minority on that. I'm a Last Jedi fan; you can't break me.

I appreciate what this show has done to date by continuing the Harlivy dynamic and giving a good amount of time to exploring their relationship, but yeah the middle of this season in particular has some rough patches. Definitely picks up a little towards the end, although I can also understand other's comments about where things end up and/or what they do with certain characters. Shame, maybe it is a consequence of them being stuck in a corner with the end of Season 3 and not having a good way to continue it in a satisfying way. I'm not sure how much the change of showrunner really influenced things as they are still involved to my knowledge, just more hands-off. We'll see what comes of Season 5 which has been all but confirmed by now.

Legends of Tomorrow is my favorite show of the Arrow verse.

Legends of Tomorrow is the best show in the Arrowverse, with Batwoman a close second.
