Elijah loving Tao and Elle is just further proof that her favourite romantic trope has to be slowburn! I also just really love them because it's extremely rare to see a happy romantic story for a trans character and this one does it so beautifully.

Fun facts about Elle while everyone else has leaves when they blush Elle gets butterflies which are symbols of transformation. But also butterflies are the sacred animal of Psyche daughter in law to Aphrodite and married to Eros more popularly known by his Roman name Cupid. Anyway, back to Psyche, she's the goddess of the soul and in ancient arts is recognized as a woman with butterfly wings. So, butterflies symbolize both transformation and the soul at the same time. Lastly, during Ellie's kiss, the song playing is "Fall in Love with a Girl" a love song from transgender singer Cavetown (he/they).
