Frequently Recommended Movies I've Already Seen

Your Name / Kimi no Namae Wa

A Silent Voice

Comments

Jacob Cannon

not necessarily for the channel but have you ever seen Station Eleven? feels like it's got you written all over it

agoodwintv
>>147969889

I haven't :) For some reason this reminded me to add The Last of Us cause that came up a lot

7thdilemma

And I will absolutely keep the frequency of A Silent Voice recommendations going. Your Name is also very good.

bl0odm1st

To Your Eternity mentioned!!

Deiondre0

Might wanna put Attack on Titan on the list before the requests come flying in 😅

Joey Healy

Solo Leveling was pretty cool

NB1K

After Hunter x Hunter, I think it's safe to say that the English Dub of Yu Yu Hakusho should be next on yer list. Either that or Beastars

Noah Hoorn

Berserk is pretty good, I watched it recently and still don't know how to feel about it but enjoyed the journey and would be interested in hearing your thoughts.

Nick Lasure

I know you dipped your toes into Infinity Train, and the show never got the visibility of more popular stuff, but I really can't recommend the show enough,

Sparker

Berserk or Gurren Lagann

Chris Sharpe

steven universe is my crack pitch, something i would pick over anything rn, but know would never be achieved.

Chris Sharpe

land of the lustrous is pretty good (only one season so far). Nana is amazing slice of life with some juicy drama. Naruto i think is a perfect show for you, although it is definitely a bit ambitious (without filler it is about 400 episodes). granted it seems that we are starting to get low on shows that most of your viewers have seen. Also there is a movie called “Look Back”, an anime movie that will adapt an AMAZING one-shot made by Fujimoto (the creator of Chainsaw Man). I think it hits theaters in Korea in September but not sure about streaming (you can always make like Jack Sparrow and pirate). don’t have many other ideas for anime but there are some ones that seem good i haven’t seen that others recommend. nothing motivates me to watch anime than catching up for reactions.

Gabriel Barott

A Silent Voice would be an absolute banger tho. Would love to see your reaction to this!

Juan

Might be a different vibe than all the anime being recommended but Succession was an awesome show and I could see you having a lot to say of the characters and their dynamics.

Ryan

I'm surprised Alex hasn't seen Shogun (the new series on FX)

Jabin (Aelic)

Berserk 1997 would be a great addition :)))

agoodwintv
>>147981091

Ah this I've also seen, just added it. It was funny timing because I watched it right before I entered a dynamic that reminds me of the show daily

Juan
>>147981091

Darn, really wanted to see your reaction. Yea that show also reminded of old family dynamics, not as bad thankfully. How'd you like it?

TK

i would recommend 86 to you as its only 23 episodes. Sawano Hiroyuki who composed the music for attack on titan also composed this anime’s music. Such an emotional show about war, would love to see your reaction.

Marcus Bae

I am once again shilling for A Place Further Than the Universe

K M

I would love hearing your commentary on Ping Pong the Animation!

Vincent

Oh if we're including live action shows then I'd love to see you explore Mr. Robot. :)

M2GZ

My three recommendation have remained unchanged, Run with the Wind (often compared to haikyuu even has some of the same osts), Mushoku Tensei (The grandfather of all Isekais), and Dr stone (YEEEEAH SCIENCE B*TCH)

Lux

Please rewatch code geass, I promise you won't regret it and you may be surprised to see where aot got some inspiration

Fizzle

I'd like to put Psycho Pass in the mix. I would also second Mushoku Tensei. I'm pretty bummed that you have already seen Monster though, as I would have loved to see your reaction.

Arakis

Cheers and, hey, these're surprisingly few. How did you like Ergo Proxy? It would've been one of my recommendations.

-Kites98

I second Berserk 1997 or, since it's made by the same mangaka as HxH, the Yu Yu Hakusho dub (it's his first work and the dub is glorious)

Vincent
>>148004563

>Mushoku Tensei (The grandfather of all Isekais) I'm pretty sure MT popularized the 'reincarnation isekai' and various tropes associated with it, but even Sword Art Online predates Mushoku Tensei by 10 years! Re:Zero and MT actually both started as web novels in 2012.

Jamal

I'm also going to recommend Yu Yu Hakusho (dub) as the HxH replacement. It's just the right length and imo is actually the better anime, if only because the story/major character arcs are completed.

Mike Donohue

Xmen 97 should go on the poll that’s the best show this year. Arcane level good

jhāna

I haven’t seen them myself, but it’d be cool to see you watch the rebuilds. Your commentary on anything Evangelion related would be interesting

bl0odm1st

I’m currently playing Disco Elysium and I’d give my left nut to watch you play/commentate on this game. Literally the best writing I’ve ever experienced in a game.

Felix
>>147975559

Land of the Lustrous is a great show, it's a shame there's only one season

Felix
>>147983600

I'll shill with you, that show is perfect and I think Goodwin would have a lot to say about it

cameron holloway

Ik you’ve also mentioned fooly Cooly I believe

Calamity

I would love for you to watch either Oshi no Ko or Mushoku Tensei! They're also two of my favorites

astroplace

show recommendation: made in abyss (a bit wierd at times but overall a good watch) movies recommendation: everything everywhere all at once (not an anime movie, but amazing story.)

Shaggy
>>148087233

I second Made in Abyss but also second that it has some... moments

Salvatore
>>148022455

Berserk is not made by togashi!!!! How dare you! 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

Chris Sharpe

oh yeah forgot to mention the haikyuu movie when it’s available

kingafreund

My obligatory suggestion of The Good Place ofc, and they are remaking the One Piece Anime, so probably better watch that when it comes out, rather then LA One Piece (that one's good too, but better when you already know the story and can fill in the blanks or appreciate the easter eggs, I think). This list is shorter than I thought it would be. Oh, and I'm gonna suggest Ookiku Furikabutte again, the baseball anime I think you'd love, because it focuses a lot on stuff surrounding building a club from scratch and training, rather than just matches. Maybe Trollhunters for Cartoons?

Cam Fuse
>>148144549

I think The Good Place is literally one of the if not the absolute best show he could react to and provide commentary during

Norrin Radd

If you don’t watch Psycho Pass (dub), your life won’t be complete. COMPLETE YOUR LIFE!!!! 🙏

Dense

Jojo's bizarre adventure would be hilarious

Sunny

Yoooo I don't see Death Parade on this list...

Sunny
>>148244389

It's one of those VERY short ones that you should definitely do at some point

Sunny

Since everyone else is throwing in their suggestions, mine are, in order of what I want to watch you watch first: Bocchi the Rock Death Parade Mushoku Tensei Bluelock Oshi no Ko

kingafreund
>>148250163

Oh yeah, ofc, The Owl House! Forgot about that for a moment. That's totally a must-watch! Hey Alex, I could have sworn I heard you reference Gravity Falls before? Did you forget it, or have you not seen it?

Brock Percle

forgot to add arcane, season 2 is on the way haha

Neygem

Psycho-pass

gabadoodle

86 Noragami Darker than Black all three are very character-focused anime that explore elements of the human condition in the backdrop of fantasy or sci-fi, would be great fun with a reactor like you! Noragami especially has a lot of comedy elements that can obfuscate the deeper themes with some other reactors.

Jayden Connor

I would highly recommend 86. This anime is criminally good and has become a series that I look for among reaction channels. I think you would have a lot of fun unpacking the themes and characters your type of commentary would fit very well.

Snor

Have you considered watching Naruto? It starts a little slow but the show is really good, highly recomend.

jhāna

Berserk 1997 would be an absurd watch from you. Way more philosophical than I expected it to be.

Sweetbun
>>148250163

I just finished watching The Owl House and im halfway through Gravity Falls! :D Both are so good! I think Alex would enjoy them.
