The timeskip is perfect. All of a sudden Caitlyn, Jinx/Powder, etc. are way more fleshed out characters now that we got there childhood backstories. The age ups also mean major glow ups…holy shit there are too many hotties in this show to count.

Francesca White

just started the reaction but it seems like you don't recognize Caitlyn, she was the girl who was about Vi's age, like 14, who was friends with Jayce, but we see now she's an adult as there's been a time skip. her mom was also on the council and Jayce's sponsor.

Megan

If you remember we met Caitlyn in episode 2 when she was younger. I think Jayce is like a decade older then her + he’s known her since she was a child so no romance between them lol. Also if you remember Caitlyn’s mother, Mrs. Keirman discarded Jayce after he got in trouble with the consul. Guess she switched up once Jayce’s technology became successful.

Francesca White

also just to clarify she's not his gf lol, cuz of the age difference she's more like a little sister

Megan
>>77635596

Caitlyn’s one of my favs, I hope you’ll like her too.

Megan

You’ve probably figured this out by now but the girl Jinx fought in the beginning wasn’t actually Vi, just someone with the same hair.

Megan
>>77635984

Also Jinx’s entrance is on of my favorite scenes in the show. I love her new design (well technically it’s been in League of Legends since like the early 2010s or something but it was new to me since I’ve never played League) But yeah she just looks so damn cool. We only see Vi for like a split second at the end but I love her aged up design too.

Megan

It’s so fitting that Powder’s cute little doodles as a child would become her signature for the crimes she commits when she’s older.

Francesca White

i'm so confused on how you started calling Viktor Ivan lmao

Geneva The Weeba

as a seventeen year old gym rat female, who keeps her waist length hair in double dutch braids at all times, paints her natural 1-1.5 inch long nails roughly three times a week (doing them right now, actually), and has a burning penchant for tank tops, I must affirm that Jinx, is, in fact, aesthetic GOALS

Megan

Jinx mental issues aren’t from brain damage. It’s psychological, mostly from severe trauma.

Nathan

I'm usually so annoyed by how well you predict things, it's so refreshing to see you get absolutely everything wrong. ;) Most you'll figure out, but here's something that's really understated; this show is actually a COUNTER to your idea about advancement in society's capabilities benefiting everyone at once; Piltover and the Undercity are separated by a River, which was previously the largest source of external trade. However, once the Hexgates started operating, the River became obsolete and - since the Undercity couldn't use the hexgates - suddenly there was even wider gap between the two.

Tope

The girl Jinx shot in the beginning wasn’t Vi, just someone who had the same hair. Because of Jinx’s physiological trauma, she sometimes gets those flashes of false or past images. Also I wasn’t sure if you getting the names wrong was a “Flish Floch” type of joke or genuine. But Jayce’s partner’s name is Viktor, not Ivan. And the little scientist guy is Heimerdinger. 😂

LMAO Did goodwin actually say Jinx has brain damage??? Im dead. Thats definitely not whats going on here but I guess it technically could be possible....? We'll never know really, but yeah nothing in the show points to it being from brain damage.

Francesca White

just to clarify because i don't think the show made it too clear, Jinx did not see Vi, Vi has been in prison since Marcus took her there instead of killing her. Silco thinks she was killed but Marcus actually just put her in prison

Megan

The time was 6-7 years for anyone curious since it wasn’t directly stated in the show. An Arcane writer on twitter confirmed it.

Megan
>>77637639

Yes, it’s so sad. Powder thinks Vi died hating her for what she did. Vi knows that Powder is out there, defenseless and with a monster like Silco and is thinking that Vi just abandoned her.

Rodrigo Torres

It seems you got confused, the pink hair girl of the "blimp heist" was not VI and did not survive. The groups as this episode ends are Silco's group (including Jinx), the Firelights (green hoverboard guys including not VI girl who got shot), the enforcers (Piltover), Caitlyn (no longer oficially an enforcer) and Vi (who we don't know anything othar than she is in prison and that Silco told Jinx "Your sister is gone")

benj

So how many more people wanna correct Goodwin on the exact same thing?? Lmao guys I think he gets it.

DennisAnimeFan

Just realized that Silco says he wants to create "a nation of Zorn". That's very fitting considering that "Zorn" means "anger" in German. Really fits with everything this guy is doing, like creating purple fluid that turns people into monsters temporarily. He really carries the anger within him since that one encounter with Vander. In a way similar to Powder/Jinx. Let's build a nation of anger!

Javier

The girl Jinx shot wasn't Vi, I think the animators should have made it clearer but you can see it's someone different who looks enough like Vi to trigger Jinx's flashbacks.

Sam B

You may have missed this, but Adult Jayce is actually Young Jayce after the timeskip.

Not just a river. They are technically separated by a massive canal and are technically on two separate continents from each other. The area that is now Piltover was once a vast citystate/nation called Zaun for thousands of years and was a landbridge between the two continents. Then some entrepreneur saw the potential to dig through the land to connect the two seas. The result was the canal and during its construction some accident occurred and caused big fissures to open up and basically sunk most of Zaun and rose up the land that Piltover is now built upon. Piltover isn't just a more prosperous part of a city with a river in it. Its a historical representation of a nation that was destroyed and engulfed by an entrepreneurial force. Which is pretty cool in my mind.

Xylen
>>77638117

It's "Zaun", for the record. But still a reasonable/interesting connection, they're similar enough.

Geneva The Weeba

Goodwin the ex-stock broker really just gave us a lesson on inflation and supply-side economics using pie lmao I love it

benj
>>77639598

Ahhh that Tohru gif just shot me with some much needed serotonin. Sooo cute. Also just reminded me that Goodwin will never upload a FruBa reaction ever again... now im back to being sad

ComicalSkate

Aww damn, guess he didn't get it at the end. Yeah I know others have commented it, but that girl that Jinx shot was definitely not Vi. Vi's been chilling in Stillwater Prison for like the last 7 years just punching stuff. So she is not even with the Firelights.

Geneva The Weeba

"They definitely have A Culture," "There's this weird sense of peace that can't be trusted," *Intense violence and explosions* "I'm sure they're fine," "You can't 'should' your feelings to that extent," "This is all for work. Totally for work purposes. Definitely not weapons," "I'm with the fuddy-duddy on this one," "You can't improve things by printing money, because you can't print value," "They're working on this ooz-DON'T EAT IT. ok," "I *knooow*. I'm takin' bribes," "Undercity looks more fun/Undercity is my sort of vibe," "Piltover feels a little more stuffy. Pish-posh and all that," (okay the rewatch is getting a 'pish-posh' counter) "There's always going to be seed to be found," (Full offense, Goodwin, this sounds raunchy as all heck) "Se-VI-ka!?" "Who believed in Jayce when he was nothing, huh? Who is it that saw Jayce's potential? Who is it that believed in him when he was a nothing? When he was being arrested? and having his research destroyed and having his good name tarnished? Who is the one that said that Jayce would be the one to change things, that he was the one that really understood science? I'm taking all credit for Jayce's success. In this fictional show," "You burned Heimdover's cat, and he took that personally," "Everyone wants a taste of the Jayce," (LOL) "Ugh, we hate Sevika," "Ivan, what is going on with you, dude? Get your s- together," (In here bc I did a double take at hearing Goodwin swear un-bleeped) "I kinda want Jayce merch, not gonna lie," (why oh why couldn't Jayce have been blond?) (ALSO. I want *Goodwin* merch. someone get on that if possible) "That feeling when your potential girlfriend? who just wants your success leaves because you didn't facilitate her own success. Relatable,"

Andre Tan

Just curious but are u saying the names wrong on purpose ? Cos Jaycee’s friend is named Viktor not Ivan and the little guy is Heimerdinger

secretsecret

I'm not sure what it is about Arcane that makes reactors lose their memory and eyesight but I wish that could be cured.

benj
>>77641360

LOL so fucking true tho, every single reactor just goes full smoothie-brain for this show and this show only

Anonymous
>>77641322

Yeah that's kinda his thing, he pronounces names wrong and gives them nicknames in a lot of shows not just this one.

Stephen

mans actually thought vi went out like that lmao... and wasn't bothered in the least XD. "rip Vi. well, anyways.."

Brimmy

I wish i could help turn the tide of people hollering at u about which character is which but uhhh....idr names...so i can't help at all XD

LudicrouslyLuke

Just to help ya out on a few things you missed; the girl that Jinx shot at the beginning WAS actually Vi and she got resurrected offscreen with Hextech and taken to jail after the raid. Also Caitlyn is like 25 and Jayce and her have been married for 5 years. Also, Jinx and Powder are two different characters, Powder hasn’t shown up yet. ☺️👍

Anonymous

the girl on the ship wasnt Vi and she was actually killed by Jinx. She sees her as Vi at first because of the pink hair and afterwards they show her actual face. Also she was way shorter than Jinx so no way that's her :P

Lulu

um.. this is an episode of attack on titan

ResolutionBlaze

An interesting thing you may notice on rewatches: When you view the very first scene, you're seeing the intro, at least the first bit, through the eyes of Powder. Her singing is most prominent, and more importantly, you can see the flashes of those scribbles you see with Jinx in current episodes. It indicates that, Powder always had this sort of 'issue' growing up, and it was just a part of her, some unnamed mental illness that's just kinda lingered on her since childhood. I love this, because it shows that Powder didn't just "go crazy" when she became Jinx. She always had these sorta issues in her shadow, but while she was with family, with all their flaws, and even with Mylo's berating, they kept her demons in check, so to speak. It made her condition more manageable to the point where it never really arose or became a significant point in the story. But they came to the forefront when she became Jinx, unable to find proper coping with this trauma she induced, with all the affirmations of herself by herself and others being confirmed. The trauma simply forced that mental illness to take hold and control. It's a common thing. Trauma can make mental illnesses completely overwhelm people, or even spawn them, such with PTSD, which may explain why we never witnessed her in this state prior to the traumatic incident.

Xalmor

Wouldn't peg you for someone who likes the lanes more than Piltover. Seedy life is fundamentally hedonistic and pointless.
