The smell of damp tree-bark and decaying leaves fills the air with a cool, earthy aroma. You step over a small stream, winding its way between autumn blossoms and browning undergrowth. If it weren't for the rumors of a cursed treasure, you'd describe the forest as being almost tranquil.

A sharp whistle, as something sharp, nicks your ear, drawing blood! Spinning around, you see a cloaked figure emerging from the thick trees, bow raised. "Welcome, oh brave hero." They jeer, drawing back the string "So, you heard about our rumor then?"

I enjoyed this one. It's always fun to draw a forest that isn't just your standard 'green dream'. Autumn forests have much more of a peaceful mood to them I feel. Peaceful...but misleading.

Map ideas!

- Teleportation trees: Some of the thick trees are marked with carved blood runes. Should anyone touch it as a bonus action, they can teleport to another tree they have marked with their own blood. (Enemy tactics - flanking and surrounding / easy escape)

- Hollow trees: Some of the trees are actually hollow, with concealed openings allowing for an easy ambush.

- Traps!: The thick underbrush is perfect to hide pits and beartraps.

- Difficult terrain: Whether it's climbing through ferns, avoiding noxious mushrooms or tripping over tree roots, there are a few obstacles to watch out for in these woods.

- Warded river: A triggered 'wall of water' or hidden water weirds guarding the area. Be sure you know the password before you step over the boundary...

- Cave: A place a respite? Or a den for evil-doers? Or just...bears.
