Pale glowing crystals flash past as the trundling Mine-cart races down the maze of tunnels and tracks. Every now and then, the tunnel gives way, showing a glimpse of colossal caverns and vast networks of railways and wooden scaffoldings. How big was this place?? Finally, the cart screeches to a halt, battering into the wooden supports, showering you and your companion in the dust. Climbing out of the metal cart, you freeze...From the darkness, you hear the sound of a pickaxe. Your companions look at each other, worried. "D-Didn't the prospector say these mines abandoned?"

I've been working on these for a while! For those of you playing the 'Ghosts of Saltmarsh' campaign setting, these maps are the ones I used for the local silver mine. They can be used for any generic mining network of course!

As always, there are gridless, Printer-friendly file options.

Map Ideas:

- Glow Crystals: 'Photite' crystals are used to illuminate these mines.

Photite crystal (1 silver per shard): This naturally occurring crystal appears much like quartz. If struck, it gives off dim light in a 20ft radius for 1 hour. Larger deposits of Photite give off a stronger blinding flash when struck, (30ft radius, CON DC 14 or become blinded till the end of your next turn).

- Blocked Tunnels: Some of the tunnels leading to the abandoned mine have been barricaded or collapsed. You'll need to find a way to get through.

- Gas hazards: some areas of the mine have Flammable or poisonous gasses...The old wooden warning signs are worn away, written in a different language.

- Collapsing roofs: The wooden supports are unstable, any combat here might cause supports to break and rocks to collapse.

- Mimics: Amongst the tools and junk, Mimics have taken residence here disguised as ladders and barrels...keenly awaiting for curious adventurers.

- Golems: An old work golem has lain dormant in the tunnels...A precious gemstone clasped in its hand. Should you disturb it?

-  Collapsed Mineshaft: One of the mineshafts has long since collapsed. You'll need to find a way down safely.

I've got a party clearing out some Kobold invested mines tonight! May or may not have been inspired by this map!
