The possibility of Nintendo adding Gamecube games to their Virtual Console service has long been pined over by both fans and the gaming media. After years of speculation, there are finally some good signs of it being in the works - for the Nintendo Switch.

The first word of Gamecube Virtual Console support that I heard about originated from a source in Europe several months back. I decided to keep these claims under my hat until I was able to corroborate them. In recent weeks, more rumours of the same ilk emerged from one source (as I discussed in a recent audio blog). Since then, others have independently come forward with similar information from their own sources.

I've tagged this as rumour for good reason. There is no official confirmation and nothing is a certainty yet, but I will say that these are positive signs for those hoping that Gamecube VC will become a reality. It's enough, I feel, to let everyone know about. The rumours are out there.

A short list of rumoured GC VC titles containing some fan favourites has been floating around, too. Although, I don't think it is substantiated enough to bother sharing at this juncture.

There's currently no word on whether or not Gamecube games will be prepped for the launch of the Nintendo Switch. Some of the games alleged to be in development for it are said to be fairly far along though, which could mean we end up seeing them sooner rather than later.

Stay tuned for more Patreon exclusive articles coming this month and thanks again for supporting my work.

So the Switch will have analogue triggers? Otherwise some games wouldn't work correctly right?

There are contrasting rumours about that. I'm more inclined to believe that it will, myself.
