Hey everybody! Lots of new faces here from the PAW Patrol video, so first of all thank you!

I want to provide more perks to you all here on Patreon since there's no way I would have been able to do some of the huge projects I've taken on in the last year without you (Jon Stewart 1, Jon Stewart 2, and PAW Patrol).

What kinds of things would you like to see from me here? What kinds of things are working on this Patreon page? What kinds of things aren't working?

I think you do plenty to make the Patreon worthwhile. I love the roundups, and hearing your thoughts in general. But, and I’m just speaking for myself here, I don’t donate or subscribe or whatever here for perks, I do it purely to support your work. Broken down hourly, with the quality of work you do, I feel like I’m getting such a fantastic deal. If I could afford to give more, I absolutely would ❤️

I wanna see some non capitalist copaganda. for example the USSR had cops, but did they have similar or differing portrayals in Soviet media?

I already love your "there's too much tv" posts but it would be really cool if there were more opportunities on here to hear your quick thoughts on specific tv episodes. For example, maybe you might have enjoyed a specific episode of the new season of Atlanta, in which case you could write a 1 paragraph post with some quick thoughts. I would also enjoy a few more updates about your research. If you stumble across an interesting article for copaganda it would be cool to see a brief post about the article, what it is and why you felt it was worth sharing. More long form articles would also be cool if possible. Heck maybe instead of a movie watch along like you did with "irresistible" the live streams could be for watching a couple new episodes of shows you really like. Also, for the record my favorite exclusive content on here has been the interviews you did with Steve Almond and Sophia McClennen! I'm sure those were super hard to put together and I'm NOT saying that interviews like that should be some a regular patreon perk, but I loved watching them. They gave me a ton to think about and just seeing you talk with another person about an interesting topic was really cool and fun. Maybe you could occasionally just do a couple 10 minute exclusive conversations with some youtube friends or fellow tv critics or something? IDK. I don't want you to burn yourself out and I hope that's not asking for too much. Do whatever you are willing/able to do with the time you have available to you and don't feel like you are letting us down. You've already done a great job and I'm proud to be a patron! Quality copaganda videos are all I've ever needed as a reward.

While interesting, I think that this is borderline impossible for me to do at this time. First of all, I have no cultural experience of the USSR the way I do with America and its politics which would mean learning all about both Soviet media and Soviet politics, both of which could prove difficult to do since I don't read or speak Russian, which would limit my sources. Secondly, I'm not even sure how I could get my hands on that kind of media. Thirdly, and most importantly, the objective of the copaganda series is to get people to rethink the role police play in America today. Learning about Soviet copaganda could be interesting to that end, but I don't think that Americans have consumed Soviet media in a way that influences the way they see the police

Thanks so much for the feedback! I tried to put together a couple interviews for the PAW Patrol video but they fell apart in the end, it's definitely something I'm looking to do more of going forward, it's a nice way to add to the videos and give you guys some cool content. I'll definitely share more research and TV thoughts!
