The world of Arcadia is composed of 3 planes: Heaven, Midterra, and Underworld/necropolis, also known as the Abyss or the dead Sea (these names are temporary and subject to change)

The middle plate contains the four kingdoms composed of various towns and cities. These kingdoms are:

Exicom: The Marine Lion of the north, kingdom of Water and Steel

Durashonia: The Flaming Eagle of the south, Kingdom of Fire and Lighting

Valdosarel: The Polar Bear of the North, kingdom of wind and Ice

Atlagamea: The Stone Dragon of the East, kingdom of Earth and poison.

The representative animals and elements might be subject to change.

The erratic geography of Arcadia is the result of many cycles of destruction it has suffered in the past by the Avatar of Chaos, Iblis Bythos (basically the devil of Arcadia myth). It's believed that in the first cycles of Arcadian history, there were more kingdoms in Midterra, but many of these fell due to the cyclical calamity of Iblis.

I'm still considering if Arcadians would know the city in the sky as Exodus (its real name) or Sephira, a made-up name by arcadian culture, due to that the name of the city is still in consideration.

There are many other aspects to talk about like political relationships and religion but I'll leave those for later since they need more work :)

(also that's not the final design for the outer appearance of the Sol Hunab Ku, just a placeholder as well I plan to make a better map down the road with more details and arty elements, in the map only the cities and towns that have been mentioned in the bios prior are the ones that you are able to read, the other city/town names in the map are in arcadian since those are placeholder names for now)

This is fucking rad as hell. I love fantasy maps, thanks Tolkien; and this just hits all my buttons. 💖

I looked up Iblis Bythos and even though we know Adam is both god and devil in this story, considering that a "Primordial Abyss Devil" is responsible for tectonic activity made me think of the Aztec entity Cipactli. Whichs Wikipedia page also told me that apparently is related to the Maya god Zipacna, who was entombed under a mountain by the Twin Heroes (like Adam by the twin keys). Which reminds me of the Greek myth of the monster Typhon, who was trapped under a mountain too and is responsible for its volcanic activity (it's said to be Mount Etna specifically.) Luckily, in difference to Ixbal and Hunna, googling Pawathun and Yaxche immediately gave me the information that these are the Four Cardinal Direction Deities and the World Tree of the Maya respectively. Speaking of the latter, a space laboratory on top of a world tree? That's very Xenoblade Chronicles of you. Also, just a question about the Dead Seas composition: Is it magma or some type of primordial soup or just straight up toxic water? And kinda related, is there something like cenotes in this world as well?

In my defense hahaha I know is a very xenoblade chronicles thing, but it was more (or at least also ) inspired by Gravity Rush and I also wanted my Laputa, castle in the sky moment XD. To gain information on Iblis mythos, just google the name separately, Iblis is the Islamic name for Lucifer/devil while Bythos is connected to Gnosticism if I remember correctly. There is a lot of lucifer symbolism in arcadia in particular around a certain character, the real identity of Iblis, which ... Nevermind, I better not talk about it now haha. Anyways my Patreon cover photo on top already teases the Iblis mythos, you can see his Black demon wings surrounded by angel/god-like entities, which I'll spoil are the Nephilim. As for the Dead sea, most likely it is called that cuz it is most of the old world that was destroyed and fell into the depths of the oceans but I also have in mind that it could be just like the real dead sea in a way, it might have a chemical composition that makes it impossible for life to bloom there, which it is inspired in the red sea of Evangelion and the Red tide, a phenomenon that I used to see as a kid here in the coast of Yucatan.

There are cenotes in Arcadia for sure, I haven't decided their purpose as of now, but I think maybe one nephilim is asleep in one close to /under Elnidoh. Tbh they could easily be a connection to infra terra (similar to Mayan myth being connections to the underworld), which could easily be the way Asher and company including otto are able to go back to the surface.

Haha, I can assure you, there are very few places with water that contain no life. The Dead Sea is inhabitated by Halobacteria that have their own style of phototrophy, the salt water lines that form in sea ice also contain life and from my lecture in groundwater ecology I know there are groundwater bodies hundreds of meters underground where the local bacteria and archaea live from oxydizing various minerals and hydrogen created by radioactive decay. I would not be surprised if Adam unvoluntarily leaks enough energy to allow some red bacteria to grow. XD
