Concept Art 011: Earth Bloom Form (Patreon)

Stereum is a bit more simple that the others but I love him. I had an easier time with his design cuz I knew what I wanted from the start regarding his silhouette. Stereum is the name of a type of fungus that funny enough can look like hotcakes hahaha, but also in this design, they look also like Turtle shells, and I wanted Stereum to look hard and protected. I also used lithops, another plant that looks like rocks, for some details in her collar.

In the beginning, I was trying to add some plants and fungi on his back and arms but I liked the simpler silhouette better which make it a solid design.

Armadillos were also part of the inspiration so I do think he rolls up like a Goron (Zelda) or a Sandrew (pokemon) for some moves.

Tomorrow I'll show you the wind form, Helleborus
