Concept Art 022: Ekpyrosis (Patreon)

The Order of Ekpyrosis is almost as old as Arcadia itself, while this group of old wise men has been in charge of leading the Church and posing as counselors and intermediaries to the kingdoms for all kinds of international affairs, it's pretty obvious that the sovereigns of the 4 Empires are not the true rulers of Arcadia, but the Ekpyrosis itself.

Arcadia's civilization is strongly Religious therefore the words of these old men hold a lot of power and weight, and since the menace of the Reapers and God's punishment is pretty real, the sovereigns must comply if they dont wanna experience what happens when a kingdom goes against the ekpyrosis. Not to mention that even though the Midnight blades serve the rulers of the 4 kingdoms and serve as their people's idols, these are under the direct command of the ekpyrosis, so if the old men decide so, the blades could overpower the rulers in any situation (whatever the implications could be).

The truth about the Order is that they are automatons created thousands of years ago by Adam Kadmon with Adonai's help, while they might be intelligent they do not possess a Will, they only have a purpose and that is Carrying Adam's Plan to completion. A good allegory would be: the people of Arcadia are the livestock/, and the Midnight Blades are the Shepherd dogs that watch over them so they don't go out of their role, the Ekpyrosis would be the owner of the farm instructing the dogs what to do, and Adam is god's voice inside the head of the farmer.

The design for the ekpyrosis member's robes or Human appearance is yet to be decided, quite honestly it is something I wanna keep exploring a bit further until I'm fully satisfied, but I did want to show you how it is going, and the idea for their true appearances is basically angels of death. The number of members in the order was still on the air but I think it could be around 6 or 5 (initially I did think of 13 but it is too many, and in a fight, it could be too much.
