Behold the Burning Idol.

Created through dark imagination, industry and sorcery by the Fellsmiths, these towering constructs are imbued with the stolen powers of gods and daemons alike. Neither beast nor machine, they serve as both living religious icons and terrifying steeds for the masters of the Evil Dwarf legions.

Designed as a centerpiece model for your Evil Dwarf armies, the Burning Idol embodies dark majesty and infernal power, dominating the battlefield with a massive wingspan of approximately 25cm.

Hobby Notes & Tips

Wings

The wings can be dry-fit into place without glue. This makes storage and transportation significantly easier and helps reduce those inevitable fears about accidental breakages.

Body Support

The rock stand acts as a structural anchor for the main body. Given the size and weight of the model the body has pins under the feet designed to be slotted into the rock base. My recommendation is to glue the rock base down. Then glue and fit the body onto the rock. The pins should be (and designed to be) a tight fit so you may need some slight sanding.

Throne Design

The throne has been designed to hold a model mounted on its own base, supporting bases up to 28.5mm round.

If you're like me and enjoy using characters both on foot and mounted depending on the game, this should make swapping between options simple.

Throne Panels

The throne panels are completely optional. You can print a single panel, multiple panels, or leave them off entirely depending on the look you're after.

Rider Optional

There are intentionally no locating holes built into the beast's back. The throne sits naturally in place for gluing, but this also allows you to run the Burning Idol without a rider if you prefer.

Evil Dwarf Compatibility

The Fellsmith is semi-modular, with interchangeable hand connection points that are compatible with components from the wider Evil Dwarf range.

One of the biggest goals with MeshyMesh has always been creating a growing modular ecosystem where every new release expands the possibilities of every release that came before it.

The Burning Idol is another step in that direction.

New heads, new riders, new cults, new icons and entirely different interpretations of these infernal constructs are already bouncing around inside my head. This is only the beginning.

Thank you all for your support, feedback, ideas and enthusiasm. Every release is better because of those conversations.

I can't wait to see what you build, print and paint with this one.
