September Approaches - Darkness & Fury (Patreon)

The next chapter of The Forge Ahead is beginning to take shape.

September brings Darkness & Fury, and I thought it was time to give you the first proper glimpse of what's currently being forged.

Furnace Cults: Crimson Grail

The Furnace Cults continue to expand with the arrival of the Crimson Grail.

These berserkers follow a very different philosophy of war from the disciplined ranks of the Evil Dwarf legions.

Through their bloody rituals they consume the distilled essence of gods of blood and rage, surrendering themselves to blind fury before battle. So dangerous are they that they're kept chained until the moment comes to unleash them upon the enemy.

The WIP render gives you the first look at where they're heading.

Less armour. Bare flesh. Chains. Brutal weapons.

And, importantly, another completely new collection of modular components to mix throughout the wider Evil Dwarf range.

Forge Adepts and Forge Masters will both receive the Crimson Grail Furnace Cult as part of September's releases.

The Lamassu

And looming over September is something considerably larger.

You've seen the concepts. You've heard some of the thinking behind it.

Now it's becoming real.

The silhouette gives you an idea of the scale I'm working towards, while the first renders reveal the Fellsmith and the face of the creature beneath him.

The Lamassu isn't intended to be another raging brute like the Burning Idol. This is an ancient creature of intelligence, sorcery and manipulation.

And if you've looked closely at the Fellsmith...

You might start wondering who is really in control.

The full Lamassu and Fellsmith kit will be coming to Forge Masters in September.

There's still plenty of sculpting, testing and dark experimentation happening behind the scenes, but I'm really enjoying how different these two releases are becoming. Thank you to everyone who contributed your ideas on these two kits!

Darkness & Fury is coming.
