I've said it earlier but I do think Ryoga is a lot better in the remake, again because it's faithful to the manga this time, so he comes across as a little more... innocent? I'm not sure if that's the right word for it exactly, but you do feel bad for him a few times in this episode, he gets absolutely humiliated in front of Akane and I can't help but feel a bit for him when you see that look of defeat in his eyes. Oh, also Ryoga probably was the inspiration for Zoro's bad sense of direction, Rumiko's series are the direct inspiration for a lot of manga series. We're also seeing Ranma and Akane's relationship continue to grow as well this episode and it's so sweet, you can tell they actually care for each other. It's an old trope, but Akane being a bad cook is just funny because of how enthusiastic and innocent she is about it, her cooking animation was just so expressive and cute, I do love the little scream the food gives off as well. The budget was increased again this season because of how well the remake is doing, so I am pretty confident we'll have the entire manga adapted.

Thats good because ryoga was fairly hard for me to like in the older anime even if overall its still my main squeeze

THE GOOSH!

I completely agree on Ryoga. He's definitely a much better character this time around. And yea, Akane-Ranma is one of the better romances, as far as how the story is told, that I've seen!
