The galactic arc is over now In the game just like in the anime Cyrus technically succeed but instead Of a new world he opened a portal to the distortion world with giratina and decides to stay there

There was a banned episode on season one where a dude was showing guns at everything, XD and I believe there is an episode where Team Rocket burges into a store with machine guns. I don't remember which episode. The plot of this arc actually goes further with full world creation lore. There is a creator Pokemon and a third legendary Pokemon who represents the devil and is sent to its own dimension. I won't go into details but there are three movies that handle the plot a bit.

So Cyrus is actually kind of... well he's dead, Dialga and Palkia basically collapsed the new universe he created, I mean, they're the literally the gods of time and space so it's something they can do. It's one of the few times so far we've had a character actually die in the anime. Cyrus's plan was never going to work actually, this is info from the games, but Arceus who's the actual creator god in Pokemon lives right above Mount Coronet, a staircase to his realm (the hall of origin) can be summoned literally from where Cyrus was standing, so... basically you had a madman screaming outside God's front door about how he would destroy and recreate the universe, it was never going to work out for Cyrus, Arceus doesn't really directly interfere with things usually though, but he does tend to move people around like chess pieces to have them fix the issue without them realizing what he's doing, he's actually a really good interpretation of an old Biblical style god. Oh, also like Taslim said, Giratina... who is basically Satan also lives in a dimension connected to the temple they were at on mount coronet, because it's the point where Arceus created all of reality, and in the games Giratina actually dragged Cyrus to his realm, the distortion world which is basically hell as punishment for what he tried to.

THE GOOSH!

I’m really glad they took the time and effort to tell us a story. This was entertaining!

The Team Galactic plotline does eventually continue during a much later series but those are listed as special episodes so they aren't included in the actual episode count
