I've been waiting for this for awhile now! Such a great show.

Enzonator

I own the Blu Ray and all, but I've never seen it dubbed. So far so good!

Wow getting an early start on the GOOSHER 100s this month. I absolutely love the Samurai genre (if you couldn't tell from my profile pick), favourites as far as Anime & Manga go. Include Vagabond, Rurouni Kenshin and Blade of the Immortal. I watched Samurai Champloo about the time I was 14, it didn't really care for it the first time around. But this time perhaps because I'm older I really enjoyed the dialogue. Can't wait to join you on this journey through it once again.

Nothing better than some hiphop and chanbara

Love this show, the only thing that would make it better is if it was a series he watched daily. Since that's not the case, this is ideal.

MarkyO

YESSSSSS!!!!!!

So I did 4 years in the Air Force and served 2 years in japan... Okinawa, Japan (part of the ryukyu islands) to be specific. with that being said, this takes place in the ryukyu islands. Part of japan but not connected to the mainland where Tokyo and all the big cities at. The imagery is spot on and captures the culture so well. Because these islands, south of mainland are more of a country side type of feel with no new modern technology. And they still practice old Japanese cultures that are rarely practiced in the mainland part. Just fun fact. Same country but 2 completely different ways of life.

boumka

You need to listen to the intro and outro ! This anime's music is really loved !

MarkyO

So how does one sponsor?

Zhalterrix

Good old fashioned Samurai fights. Those may be my favorite kind of anime fights.

Samurai Champloo Never saw it, didn't expected it to be this fun

PKKite

they travel all over iirc Mugen's town is somewhere else. I believe they even visit the capital or one of the bigger cities. My fav part is the period is set around the western religious turmoil era. This is set near the Edo period i believe.

GoldArthur

You should react to the opening next time Curtis. No spoilers that im aware of.

Charlie

yoooo this is sick!

I remember the first time watching this anime lol. Afterward I wanted to go out and buy a real samurai sword and be a complete weeb xD

i know right? this is too good of a series to be watched every month.. in a way i kinda wish alpha didn't hold these :(.. but i guess if curtis is going to watch them its better every month than never

Anonymous

kinda wish this was a daily thing :/ kinda takes the fun out of SUCH a great anime damn

MarkyO

Wait... hold up... He's only doing episode 1? Someone explain to me what's going on, how much money it'll take to do the whole series, and where I send it.

Anonymous

hes doing the whole series one episode a month but i think he said 2 episodes this month but normally goosher vids are 1 per month

Anonymous

2 years is wildly unrealistic and arguably one of the worst formats you could possibly put genuinely great shows on. Everyone who watches anime a decent amount knows what Samurai Champloo is or has heard of it for a reason. I don't really understand the whole thing and I don't really know who Alpha Centauri is but at least one video a week makes far more sense than 1 video a month on a show that has 26 episodes... 26 months is a stupidly long time.

THE GOOSH!

Well, if Alpha wasn't supporting them, the other option would be no episodes of the series at all. So as stupidly a long time as that may be, I'm sure a lot of people here appreciate Alpha sponsoring these so they get to watch the vids.

KP

1 episode a month? Curtis I feel like it that spread out might make you forget the plot and all being so long in between episodes :( Samurai Champloo is on of the great animes....

Michael Wilson

Not sure if you noticed but the dub voice actor for Mugen is the same guy who did Zabuza in Naruto.

SlowFlow

Steve Blum, the greatest voice-over actor of our times. He was also Spike Spiegel of Cowboy Bebop, Urdnot Grunt of Mass Effect 2 and Toonami Tom of Cartoon Network's Toonami.

SuperiorSpiderBoy

I had no idea you were watching this, dope as fuck! One of my all time favorites for sure.
