Damn yeah this is one rough episode, poor spike taught the lesson again not to make real connections with anyone.

Music-box melodies are sweet to the ears yet can leave you feeling sombre at the same time, I enjoy them as well.

Move like water is Bruce Lee's Jeet Kune Do in a nutshell. That is the martial art Spike uses which is why he uses so many quick movements and his environment like tables to fight. Its meant to be a style not stuck in forms because Bruce realized you can't just do forms like a computer in a real fight you gotta move with the flow.

bruce lee was 1 of the inspirations used for spike characters, that's why you will see many similaritis in the fighting style

Bebop does nothing but hammer you in the feels as you watch your crew of burdened bounty hunters go through a cruel and vicious world.

Anyone else reminded of that episode from Samurai Champloo? The one where the pick-pocket was taking care of his sick mother? Seems the writer has a special place in his heart for these kinds of stories.

The first episode does the best job of laying the groundwork for the rest of the series: These types of emotional encounters that Spike experiences are just the norm for him and the rest of the Bebop crew.

Yeah, the dialogue with the sister / mom at the end about how "it's okay, if he died he must have been doing something he knew was wrong" is practically identical in both shows

Love that the hijackers were named Huey, Dewey and Louie. :D

Waltz for Venus is probably in my top 5 but definitely top 10 bebop episodes it gets me every time too the ending with the sister

So I can’t watch the reaction. Whenever I try and open it it’ll say this video isn’t available. That just something on my end or is that a known thingy?
