Just a fun little fact, the name of the show, 'Toradora', is a cross-lingual pun on the names of the two protagonists, Ryuuji and Taiga. The "ryuu" part of Ryuuji's name means "dragon"(which is what he was referring to when calling himself a dragon), and "Taiga" is the Japanese transliteration of the English word "tiger"(hence her nickname, the palmtop tiger). The name of the show is the exact opposite: "tora" is the Japanese word for "tiger". "dora" comes from the Japanese transliteration of the English word "dragon" - "doragon". This is also reflected in the names of the first two episodes, "Tiger and Dragon" and "Taiga and Ryuuji".

I remember getting pretty far in this show but don't think I finished it I know I liked it tho another show in a similar vein that I also liked was Ore Monogatari aka My Love Story I just love the main character in that show

Ooh! You're getting introduced to so many good shoujo series lately! Toradora is another one that's just chock full of great characters. We're really just at the tip of the iceberg here, two episodes in, but I'd forgotten how strong it starts off. It only gets better from here.

I loved this show, it's been forever. In case you want to know what the meaning of the name "Toradora" means: Tora is "Tiger" in japanese or "Taiga" and dora is short for adore so "Tiger Adore" roughly of course.

Well Spaz Dad, after trying to get this anime to win the polls (though it kinda did) it seems like it just got requested as a Goosher 100. I'm happy of course, since it's my favorite animated Slice of Life, just wish it was a daily reaction like I mentioned to the other Gooshers in the past. Great show, it won't disappoint!

I always thought they took "dora" from the Japanese transliteration of the English word "dragon", "doragon". So the title of the show is Tiger and Dragon, but the opposite of Taiga and Ryuuji's names("taiga" being the Japanese transliteration of the English word "tiger", and "ryuu" in Ryuuji's name meaning "dragon" in Japanese.) I don't deny the show is toradorable, though.
