Now a warning, THIS is cliffhanger endings the anime. Us og fans had our hearts in our throats throughout the original run too many times to count. To clear 2 things out,1- Dr.Ver/last action hero was the one to summon the noise in the shadows, and 2- the other girl at the beginning did die, while she survived her Swan song(superb song depending on the translator) she was unfortunately crushed to death under the rubble of the collapsing facility (which Maria barely avoided thanks to "mom" shielding her) There is SO much I'm trying not to say, but hot damn are you in for a ride with this one.

I'm loving the post-episode discussions! You were wondering if the armor looked a little different from season one and you are correct. The way Symphogear work is their abilities are protected by a series of locks that are opened through training and raising your sync rate. This is also why the same gear can look different on different people (Kanade/Hibiki/Maria).

The last shot in the opening with the girls falling seems to be what happened at the end of season 1 after they blew up that moon part. Also, Swan Song still isn't a free move for them, Hibiki takes the toll for all 3 singers.
