Angela with the river song look in the reaction. OK OK..😁

Can’t wait to watch your reaction to this classic story!

Nathan Jasper

The Doctor, an archaeologist, and Jorah Mormont walk into a catacomb... Love this pair of episodes so much. This is a great example of minimalist horror mixed with allure and a splash of comedic relief. Moffatt really is a master.

Rayna Storie

Four episodes in and she's already getting over 10 😆 we told you you would love 11 just as much as you love 10 and just as much as you love 9

Alkaris

I forgot this was a 2-part episode. I do remember that Episodes 8 and 9 are also a 2-part episode as well, as well as the last two episodes being a 2-part. They give you a lot 2-parter episodes this season.

Kevin Brown

I was kind of hoping she would find out those 2-parters are coming the way we found out, so it would be like a surprise, know what I mean? I'm concerned that knowing when there are 2-parters will influence her expectations. I wish she could experience the show the way we did.

Mark McKeown

People can't help themselves. Idk why people can't treat this like they're watching for the first time, we didn't know when two parters were coming the first time we watched.

Mark McKeown

I swear, if there are comments next week talking about that one thing... please people, use your brains.

Ben “Bentendo” Dawson

"I love Steven Moffat" - I knew you'd come around compared to your worries at the start of this journey based on hearsay 😉 as for your crush on Matt, can you imagine in the UK when he was initially announced the press called him the Elephant Man?! Was very cruel, how wrong they were...

Jason

It's a little subjective & reminds me of the discussion on The Who's There Podcast about leaks this week and how far is too far. You see in the UK (Moffat like RTD before) would reveal most episode titles (except if it had a spoilery name) ahead of time to launch the series as promotion in The Radiotimes Magazine (Then BBC-in house TV listings ) with small synopsis's of each episode. To say everyone went in blind is untrue because DW wanted to promote what was coming but it's an interesting debate

Jacob King

Two kinds of suspense. One is going in blind the other is having some light spoilers in the trailer but having to wait a whole week because streaming isn’t a thing and Doctor Who is only on on Sunday nights. It’s much more nerve racking to have to wait.

John

If you remember back to Silence in the Library, when River opened her diary she asked Ten if they'd done the The Crash of the Byzantium yet. This is the crash of the Byzantium. And yes, Ten said River whispered his name to get him to trust her, unless of course he was lying.

I really like this episode. Sometimes one episode of a two-parter suffers from not really having enough going on - Daleks in Manhatten is maybe the most notable example - but this one has so much going on when the "to be continued" pops up the feeling is one of "wait, it's over already?" I like Bishop Octavian as a character - that he knows, at least to some extent, who and what The Doctor is, respects his capability, but isn't awestruck or overly deferential, and willing to clap back. I think The Doctor needs to encounter someone like that now and then, who can push back against him in a way the companions can't since the companions flitter away in his little blue box with him. And I very much enjoy the little monologue to close out the episode - the one thing you never want to put in a trap... It's not a big grandiose speech, but it finishes with a really nice oomf. Waiting a week for a part 2 is always hard, but there's much less of a wait until Farscape Friday!

John

Having to wait a week for part 2 of your reaction is more difficult that it was to wait for the 2nd part when it first aired. You should do double-features when they're 2 part-ers. For reasons.

John

SPOILERS. Yes, telling Angela what episodes are two part in advance is a spoiler. Don't.

John

So Iain Glen played Jorah Mormont in GOT, was infected with Grayscale and started turning to stone. Fast forward to the 51st century and he's a Bishop fighting Weeping Angels. Coincidence? He's been fighting stone creatures across time and space for centuries it would seem.

Merkavar

Am I mistaken or does the doctor at no point confirm river is his future wife. He answered yes to being mr grumpy face.

ZapWing

I think I heard you say that you River would be his second wife but he is a time traveler, so if River was the Doctor's wife, she could still be his first wife but their timeline is out of sequence and his granddaughter would be River's granddaughter too if that were the case. Additionally, they said the Aplans had two heads, but all the statues had one head. Therefore, the statues were converting into the image of the Weeping Angel. And I think the captivating part is that this is more or less how Angels "reproduce." It seems that they can convert people via images and videos and imprint their brain. But they can also convert statues too.

Dani

Oh this is absolutely one of my favorite Angel stories.

Jordan Boulton

I can already tell you are going to have so much fun with these next few series!

Ben

To be fair, Angela has said in the past that she actually doesn't mind knowing which episodes are 2-parters as it helps her with planning.

I just discovered you have full episodes on Patreon! I don't know how it always goes in one ear out the other! I hope we can still get some doctor who reacts with HBO's contract ending. I love Alex Kingston! She's such a joy.
