Superman 2025 (Rewatch) FULL LENGTH Movie Reaction

I think my biggest issue with this movie was that literally everyone was more capable than Superman...the only fights he didn't lose, he was saved by the dog...

See, I look at it very differently. Superman could have easily won a lot of those fights easily. Take the kaiju for example. The entire fight he's not letting a single thing get meaningfully harmed. He even protects a squirrel. He could have killed it in seconds, but instead expended tremendously more power trying to figure out a way to subdue the creature without killing it. Before she put the ninites in his lungs, he could have killed the engineer, but he stopped and tried to talk her down. He said "It's not too late for either of you". And even after the nanites are in his lungs, he should have died but he fought like hell to stay conscious and beat her. Ultraman was genetically engineered to be stronger than Superman, and he had Lex's brain by proxy. As dumb as I think Lex shouting out vitamin names to his subordinates is, the reality is he was always fighting with one hand behind his back. As soon as the cameras were gone he wiped the fucking floor with Ultraman

That's ok, it's a rewatch for me too. I saw it in theaters with my mom, then we went to get burgers.

I love that you saw this with your dad. Not every watchalong has to be a first watch :) sometimes the best moments are the ones we don't catch the first time. Look up the credit for Otis -- it's a delightful little nod to 1978.

I didn’t even know you were in the UK! It’ll be there soon!

Superman makes me feel like being a better man. So many people confuse being nice and being kind, and to see someone who is genuinely both nice and kind is inspiring. It's like Ted Lasso. Someone who just goes around being kind and generous to people. I'd love to see Superman and Ted just hanging, and nerding out about Kansas.

A fun note - the opening text does 3 Centuries, 3 Decades, on down to 3 Hours and 3 Minutes, but skips 3 Months - 3 Months ago Superman and Lois started dating (she may have known before who he was, but that might have also been when he told her) I figure Eve was "Mutant Toes" in Jimmy's phone because M T is also for Miss Tessmacher. Speaking of Eve, the voice of the Raptor who chided her for sending selfies was Michael Rosenbaum. And the reporter who introduced the Justice Gang was a cameo by Will Reeve, Christopher Reeve's son, who is a reporter in real life. I absolutely love the Mr Terrific on the beach scene, it's so well choreographed and fun. More than that it brings our mood back up after the lowest point in the film, and it's the first undisputed win - Supes saved everyone from the kaiju, but he wasn't able to save the Kaiju itself - but after Mr Terrific thrashes those mooks, the Element Man saves Superman and they escape, Lois and company start to unravel Lex's whole plot, and so on. Superman and Lois is a very good portrayal of an older Superman, and it was my favorite portrayal of the character since Christopher Reeve (Just edging out Tim Daly for second place) until I watched this movie. And I'd also recommend My Adventures With Superman, which is a portrayal of a young, just starting out Superman, with Jack Quaid providing the voice. Should be treaming on HBOMax, I don't know if it's elsewhere.

Kat Grant is the the Daily Planet’s gossip columnist, she’s part of the team. It was the Supergirl show that went with a totally different interpretation. I loved Jimmy in this. His irresistible appeal to women is an old gag from the comics because Lois and Clark are a couple Jimmy got all the stories where he dated whatever female monster of the week turned up in Metropolis. My favourite thing was seeing Pruitt Taylor Vince get to play a such a decent character in Jonathan Kent (I was a big Mentalist fan back in the day). The guy with the moustache and glasses is apparently based on a comic character “Sydney Happersen” but the actor is another James Gunn regular, Stephen Blackeheart, who goes back to Tromeo and Juliet.

Spidey Productions

Superman & Lois and My Adventures with Superman are great recent versions of the characters would love to see her watch those on HBO Max

David Lonewolf Wright

You know James Gunn had to give his friend Nathan Fillion the worst possible Guy Gardner look.

I know I’m late to the party, i wanted to give this movie a second chance because I didn’t like it when I saw it in the theater, i dido like the beginning where we were introduced to this Superman via text I didn’t get the feels to connect to the character and also I didn’t like the part where Lois and Clark have their heart to heart after he finds out about the second have of the message I was very distracted with the fight in the background. I did like it a second time the fights were great how survived by the skin of his teeth and also he asked for help because he can’t be in two places at the same time. With that said, I really dislike how Jimmy treated Eve and call her mutant toes that was mean and I hope he realizes what a great woman she is and that she choose him.
