Luke Jones

i hope you get well soon Angela ❤️ looking forward to this season, its one of my favourites :)

Robert A.

At the time this episode premiered, at the point where you were demanding the complaint department, all we fans could do was throw our heads to the sky and shout MOFFAAAAAAAT!

Josef Schiltz

Sorry to hear your news, Angela. I hope this next op is a success for you and you can move on to better health. Take care! Oh, and take care when you are dwelling within the Moffat Flummox. He's out to get you!

Ben Boden

Here we go!!! Ps- Hope you feel better soon❤️

Kylie

Always found it weird how this episode doesn’t have a villain or monster! Definitely a weird creative choice from Moffat 😬

Gary Stevenson

Get well soon! Also, one of my favourite seasons this one!

Leo Cap

"doctor song, you've got that face on" "what face?" "the 'he's hot when he's clever face'" "this is my normal face" "yes it is" "I hate you"

Josef Schiltz

"That man is a clear and present danger!" Inaccurate assessment! The "clear and present danger" is the idiot holding a gun.

John Robles

Future Doc sent the invitations, as they said

Robert A.

It's not that they keep letting her out, it's more that they can never hold her if she wants to step away for a bit to take care of something (and she always comes back so that's nice). 😁 And yeah, William Morgan Sheppard is Mark Sheppard's dad. William Morgan Sheppard has been in Star Trek, but I first encountered him in Max Headroom (which I'd love to see you react to, but that's a very niche/deep cut).

Leo Cap

oh wow, I never realized that one of the president's lackeys is the High Evolutionary

brad

god, i just love every interaction between river and the doctor

Fred Aczon

That is indeed Mark Sheppard's dad, playing the older version of Canton Delaware

The Lore Merchant

They made a big deal in the promotion leading into this season that they were filming multiple episodes "on location" in the US, including the shot of Matt in the cowboy hat (and River shooting it off).

Chris Padwick

Quite right. Although, with Moffat, it's always wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey.

Benjamin

William Morgan Sheppard is indeed Mark's father a great job to cast them both

Mirco Hentsch

It was so much fun watching your reaction. I think this start for season 6 was the most amazing one. Can't wait to see your reaction on the rest of this season. I assume we all, who know what will come, will have more fun to see your reaction than you watching this episode/season 😂

Sportsfan-gamer24

It was a bad day. Silence in the library David Tennant looked at her and didn't know who she was. We've seen that part already.

Space Monkey Mafia

The worst day for River, we already have seen. It was the Library.

Space Monkey Mafia

Mark Sheppard is great. You should start Supernatural. Only 15 seasons, will only take 50 years or so.

Jaime Unson

W. Morgan Sheppard is Mark Sheppard’s dad. He played Confederate General Isaac Trimble in both Gettysburg (1993) and Gods and Generals (2003). He has such an extensive body of work, appearing in numerous sci-fi shows such as, Star Trek, Babylon 5, and seaQuest DSV, but I first remember him as Blank Reg on Max Headroom with Matt Frewer. The creepy aliens in this episode were partly inspired by the famous 1893 Edvard Munch painting, The Scream. Series 6 does have an amazing story arc, it will be pretty revealing.

James Miller

That was Mark Sheppard's dad. They originally were going to use old man prosthetics on Mark, then he suggested using his dad, who is a very accomplished actor also.

Leo Cap

“doctor… please tell me you know who I am” “…who are you?” -The Library

James Fleischman

The original BBC episode: "In Memory of Elisabeth Sladen 1948 - 2011"

Alan Moore

This is one of my favourite episodes. My brother and I had been watching Who together since the late 80's, but that ended when I moved to America during the later Tennant series. I was back in the UK for a visit when this aired so we got to sit down together and watch it as it went out live, and our minds were blown. Couldn't wait to see the next episode, but unlike you, we had to wait a fun week! Genuinely had no idea what was coming, or how wild a ride season 6 would turn out to be. You're gonna love it, and you're gonna hate it at the same time.

demonic-myst

gums " uk has a sweet/ csandy called wine gums its a chewy jelly sweet

Jedi Beavis

Seconded! Please watch Supernatural!

Van Evans

From me Brain= The old lemon. i.e. The old lemon is a bit foggy today.

David Vandervliet

Oh how much fun is the next 8-10 weeks will be. As I am sure someone else told you, the older version of Canton was played by Mark Sheppard's own father. The original plan was to put him in old age make up, but he said, why don't you just get my Dad

matt

To quote John Constantine: "You should know that vague, ominous sentences that provide no actual solid information make you sound like a tosser no matter how you act."

Michael Jones

Here’s a cool little note: the Oval Office set used here is the same one used in X2: X-Men United!

John the Rambling Scriblerian

I might be wrong on this (and I will be told so, I am sure, if that's the case lol) but the set that is similar from "The Lodger" is the same one, I believe, and I think is simply a case of reusing a set in order to keep costs down. You know... Star Trek style LOL

D

One of the big marketing pushes they had for this season was teasing that one of either the Doctor, River, Amy, or Rory were going to die. No regeneration had been announced, so most people were assuming Rory was on deck for his 900th death. Quite a twist at the time! And get well soon Angela!

Alex

He used a Jammie Dodger against the daleks.

Leo Cap

are the suit-wearing aliens not the feature creature of this 2 parter?

Alana Rock

Regarding your health - I've had my gallbladder removed just months before Covid. If I could go back in time I'd still have the surgery. I wish for your speedy recovery

Carl Wilson

This episode is incredibly entertaining and no matter how many times I see it and the next episode I still never really understand exactly what's happening. I look it up, get the explanations, and then instantly forget again. (It's almost as if the explanations were being given me by those creepy memory-wipe aliens.)

Carl Wilson

Oh yes and get well soon!

V1rtu0u5

Anyone else noticing they have been mentioning his age from the start of season 5.

Sean

That was a remote trigger for the TARDIS self-destruct.

Turnt SNACO

When it cut to the doctor walking through the door after River said "Who does he trust more than anyone?", the implication was that HE is the person he trusts most, like you said. River WAS being cheeky when she said "....spoilers", because the answer to his question ("Who's that?"), was HIM - but she couldn't tell him that. It was intentionally ironic.

Cody Eckert

Yay! I'm so happy you've made it to season 6! While season 5 certainly isn't bad, this is where I really started enjoying Matt Smith's run. I enjoy this season a lot more than the last one.

William Wood

You are feeling exactly like I did at the time. The season is a wonderful adventure.

Jessica H.

And maybe when those 50 years are over they'll bring the show back and have more episodes! 😂

Darren Withers

The invitations were sent by The Doctor (the 1,103 yo version)

SuperJohnPatterson

So Steven Moffat will play with your mind . Gotta be Sherlock or The Doctor to guess he’s plan

Drake

well you DID see the time where the doctor sees river song and doesnt know her xD it was in the library and it DID kill her in the end xD
