An interesting bts tidbit is that this and 'Curse of the Black Spot' were originally in each other's places in the season, but got swapped late in production to space out the horror episodes. It's a shame really, because Night Terrors would feed into the 'mysterious supernatural child' themeing prior to Melody's birth, and Black Spot fits better thematically after Let's Kill Hitler, what with being about the lost time a parent and child spent apart.

Cracks me up when Rory says 'we're dead...again". Poor guy can't catch a break

Merkavar

and then the kid and the doll turn up and capture the ship during "good man goes to war" episode in the place of the pirates? :D

Nathan Jasper

Honestly, going by Rygel's personality and lifestyle, it's pretty fitting Addie got him LOL

Dani

I feel like this one is a bit underrated but it's a fantastic story.

Alkaris

Good old creepy singing children. Tick-tock goes the clock! The glass eye in the drawer is a reference to the Atraxi from the first episode to meeting 11.

Jedi Knight Cam

The Doctor even says "in the flesh" to Amy and Rory, which would have been a wink-wink foreshadow of the reveal in ep 6.

Frank (MetronV) Izzy

I'm glad they're not like some cuckoos that yeet their foster siblings and eggs out of the nest. :)

A great episode, I always forgot how emotional the part is with the dad accepting his son is at the end, a wonderful moment, Matt is great in this one too he gets to flex all his muscles at different points, strong episode this one.

I always think of this one as a run-of-the mill filler story after the drama and the big reveals of the past three episodes. But watching it, I always forget just how scary it is! And it’s a really neat idea writing a story where instead of the cuckoos laying their eggs in other birds’ nests, the alien Tenzas’ motives are totally benevolent. You’re right that Mark Gatiss played Professor Lazarus in series 3. Of the episodes you’ve seen, he also wrote The Unquiet Dead, The Idiots Lantern and Victory Of The Daleks. It was a good change of pace to have a self-contained story here after all the big story arc stuff in recent weeks. I fully agreed with what you said after A Good Man Goes To War: all the clues were there, hidden in plain sight. It’s obvious in hindsight who River is, but Moffat had me completely fooled first time round! I still get chills watching the scene where River reveals her identity to Amy and Rory.

Mythbusters proved the jumping thing doesn't work.

I don't consider it a great episode, but a solid one. Nicely twisty turny, interesting premise. And I really like Matt doing the little monologue to Alex in the kitchen about how far George's cry for help went.

Nicholas Sulikowski

Just for the record, Mark Gatiss' last name is pronounced "gates" for some reason.

I don't blame ya for losing count of the season-length business. This and the next one were both split in half when first aired, and then the total season length starts changing too. It makes a blind reaction ride all the more unpredictable, I guess. Enjoy!

With the dolls walking around I am so glad I watched this in the morning and not before bed 😨

I see you've reacted to Andor, so I presume you've seen Rogue One - The actorwho played the father in this episode had a small role in that 😁
