We went to see this in the theater yesterday and it was SO FUN! Everyone sang the "no cheeses for us mieeces" line 😆

The jokes per minute ratio on this movie is exemplary 😌 And ofc Michael Cane delivering an Oscar worthy performance that we did not deserve for a humble Muppet movie 😊

You're right, I don't think guessing your favourite Christmas movie will be 'hard'. And I'll 'die' on the hill that it is, in fact, a Christmas movie. The story of a man struggling to reunite with his family at Christmas, who learns the importance of being together with the ones you love, opposing an antagonist fuelled by selfish greed. Can't get much more Christmassy than that.

lol Classic =D

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

For most of my life, Belle's song was kind of lost media. Jeffrey Katzenberg had the Henson company cut it from the theatrical version of the film because he didn't think children would grasp the concept of wilted love. The song somehow made it into the VHS version of the movie, so I grew up with it intact -- and yes, kids can comprehend and empathize with both Belle and Scrooge in this scene. At some point in the intervening decades the Henson company lost the high definition footage of Belle's song, so it never made it into the DVDs, blu-rays, or streaming versions of the film until rather recently. I've always felt Belle's song was the emotional heart of the movie (the last song at the feast, When Love is Found, is its companion piece). I'm really glad they restored it.

Thank goodness it's the version with When Love is Gone. I don't think the ending has the impact it needs without this to be a counterpoint to When Love is Found.

"The Muppets made a movie of Charles Dickens' Christmas Carol and I am the only human being in it, I play Scrooge. The one thing I thought of when I started to act in this picture, I must never play around like they do. If I am real, it makes the puppets real." Michael Caine.

in Muppet treasure island Tim curry had the opposite option he saw him self has a puppet

Since you mentioned that you don't like the "When Love is Gone" song, the blu-ray version of the movie actually cut that song out. The DVD version and the Disney+ version kept it.

Josef Schiltz

I've not seen that. Curious as to how it worked.
