Woah...what a Christmas surprise...yippee ki yay mother...well you know.

David Plunkett

Absolutely a Christmas movie. I am more likely to re-watch this than I am "A Christmas Story" or "Home Alone."

Ash Davis

The fact that one of you has seen Die Hard but not Community and the other has seen Community and not Die Hard makes this feel like such an O Henry Christmas story!

Jeff Ratcliff

Japanese companies were a big focus in the 1980s.

Raymond Terry

"Oh My God, the Quarterback Is Toast!"

Jeff Ratcliff

Alan Rickman did the stunt himself. They told him he'd go on a count of 3, but they released him on 2. So part of his reaction was real.

Nathan Jasper

It's the same concept as The Nightmare Before Christmas. Nightmare you can watch at Halloween and Christmas both. Die Hard you can watch at Christmas and any other day too. So it is and it isn't.

Lintrinsic

This is absolutely a Christmas movie. It shouldn't even still be a debate. Now RED (2010) another great Willis movie, is a movie that happens at Christmas, rather than a Christmas movie but that argument fails with Die Hard. "Ho ho ho"

PaulC

Yippee Ki Yay! Have a great Christmas Angela!

Christian M

Such a great reaction. Merry Christmas to you and your family and have a great holidays :)

Lintrinsic

For "young" Harrison Ford you probably have to go back to American Graffiti (1973). He was a little too much the rugged rogue by the time Star Wars happened IMO.

I feel like he’s been perpetually 45 for the majority of his career 😂

My three metrics for a Christmas movie: Is it set at Christmas? Yes. Is Christmas integral to the plot? Yes. It is why John is in town, to see his family for Christmas; and it is why Hans pulls off the heist, because the tower is largely empty for the holidays, save his initial target who is there for the Christmas party. If it wasn't Christmas, John wouldn't be here and Hans wouldn't have attacked. Does it include a Christmas theme or message? Yes. It is about a main character struggling to reunite with his family whom he had alienated, learning the importance of togetherness with his loved ones in opposition to a villain motivated by greed - the very same Christmas theme as Home Alone, for the record. (Also, wild you haven't seen Airplane, Futurama, or Community)

Wedge

100% a Christmas movie. Will die on this hill :)

This is what I’m talking about keep reacting together!!!!!! Dammit

Syre2xE

lol 😂 I can’t be cussing but pls keep reacting together

Nathaniel Castle

You need to watch community I cannot stress this enough!

Michael Jones

First: Absolutely a Christmas Movie. Second: You two have to do more of these. Watching a movie together that one of you as seen, but the other hasn't,

Moricant

I remember a friend at university managed to get away with mentioning Asian Dawn as a real organisation in an essay on international terrorism, referenced to a December 1988 issue of Time Magazine in the citations list.

Kevin Bartelen

I don't specifically watch it every year at Christmas, because I watch it a lot anyway, but it is a Christmas movie, and then actual Christmas time gets reserved for things like Scrooged which really NEEDS to be watched at Christmas.

funnylilgalreacts

Which one the full length or the edited version? They should be at 0DB.

Arronax06

So, please feel free to disregard if that was intentional, but was that the raw footage instead of the full length reaction? Don't get me wrong, I appreciate it as is, but since there are a few mentions of things that needs to be edited out (and there isn't the usual countdown or timer to sync), I figured I'd mention it in case it wasn't intentional. Again, sorry if it was intentional :)

funnylilgalreacts

Should be correct now! That's what happens when I don't check that I did the right uplaod

Arronax06

Thanks :) , and nice new logo for the joint reaction :) .

Speaking of Harrison Ford, you should check out Alexander Godunov in “Witness” (1985) with Harrison Ford. Ford was about 34 during the first Star Wars movie Mark Hamill was about 25 and Carrie Fisher was about 19. The female newscaster is played by the late Mary Ellen Trainor who was also the police psychologist in the “Lethal Weapon” movies. “Reconnoiter” just means reconnaissance, it’s mostly a military term. Actor and stuntman Al Leong, the guy who steals the candy bars and then gets terminally surprised by John on the stairway to the roof, is in a whole bunch of 80s and 90s action movies. He is also in the first “Lethal Weapon” movie. The LAPD vehicle that tries to ram its way inside the building is just an old US Army World War II M8 Greyhound armored car minus its turret. The police officers who were screaming after the rocket hit the armored car were not inside the armored car. They were the SWAT guys who got shot in front of the glass doors who then crawled away. You can see one of the dead armored car crew member with a white helmet on slumped over the side of the vehicle. The older German with the ponytail seen in the beginning of the movie, looking in the offices, and then later who helps set up the rocket launchers at the window is played by the late Wilhelm von Homburg who was in Ghostbusters 2 as the main bad guy. The late Rick Ducommun who plays Walt who gets the power to the building shut off is very funny in the movie “The ‘Burbs” (1989) with Tom Hanks. if you guys wanna watch a movie with *real* helicopters flying unnecessarily low in a city, check out “Blue Thunder” from 1983. It has Roy Scheider from Jaws in it. Great movie. Noticed that you cannot see the ambulance in the back of the box truck when it first shows up in the garage as all of Gruber’s men come out of it. But then later on when Theo drives the ambulance out of the back of the truck, the ambulance is easily visible inside. This appears to be the only movie in which Reginald VelJohnson fires a gun. https://www.imfdb.org/wiki/Reginald_VelJohnson Definitely a Christmas movie. I watch it every Christmas season and rarely watch it other times. Great reaction from the both of you!

I really recommend to watch the Die Hard episode of the netflix series "the movies that made us" people who worked on the movie tell really interesting things about the making of the movie
