Mike

Yeah, the Becca scene still hurts years later.

Matt Jones

Now that you have finished cyberpunk season you should watch the first cyberpunk anime movie Ghost In The Shell !!

Skipp

This episode still hits hard. Hope you enjoy the game, hope you cry everytime that song comes on the radio. If you are looking for suggestions for new series I would recommend Netflix's Castlevania.

David Lonewolf Wright

You saying, "I don't even know what he wanted." during your prologue already got my eyes watering. While playing Cyberpunk 2077, whenever the song "I Really Want to Stay at Your House" plays on the in game radio, it hits me with a gut punch every time after watching this show, but I have to listen to the whole song each time.

Oran

I'm sure there will plenty of these comments, but because it sums up Cyberpunk so perfectly. "A happy ending? For folks like us? Wrong city. Wrong people." Cyberpunk deals with so many interesting ideas, themes and characters. There have been so many amazing stories told and there are so many more yet to come. But this setting crushes everything down to a point. Hope is monetised, humanity is packaged and people are profit or they're removed. The mistake we all make is believing maybe this time might be different. I reckon all of us had a sliver of that hope during this finale. David and Lucy could be, should be the ones who can have that happy ending. Now they're just another tale for the next dreamer. Loved the reactions, I needed a good cry today. Damn

Nathaniel Castle

Honestly this was the perfect end for Mike Pondsmiths Cyberpunk world, a happy ending wouldnt have been right it has to be bittersweet to full on tradgedy. Yeah Adam Smasher has been a known entity of Night City for a very very long time along with Johnny Silverhand and Morgan Blackhand

LookingForOwls

Adam Smasher is the end boss in the video game, if you needed a reason to play it more.

Moricant

There is a recurring mini-quest, the details of which I will not spoil, named “I really want to stay at your house” that was patched into the video game in one of the last few updates, just to break us all with this memory. Another suggestion for Castlevania here, which will let you renew your acquaintance with the work of James “No more Mr. Nice Gaius!” Callis.

Chill4xed

I know you're not a gamer but DAMN would you love the story of the game.... :)

michael denny

craving those cyberpunk vibes still? Try Altered Carbon it is fantastic.

michael denny

Ironically The "David Martinez" a drink named after him in the merc bar Afterlife is a shot of vodka tossed with a niCola despite the fact he didn't like carbonated drinks. When mercs die as legends in Night City the Afterlife creates a drink named after them.

Skipp

I would also suggest Masters of the Universe Revelation & Revolution. Very fun Netflix show especially if you were a fan back in the 80s. Fairly short as well, something like 20 episodes between the 2 series.

djKENTO

Becca deserved better...

djKENTO

did you see the statue they released? It feels like a slap in the face...

michael denny

what could be better for a merc than being smashed by the smasher himself...fucking legend.

Nathan Jasper

Highly recommend Death Note for a psychological philosophical thriller

Marcus Hicks

If you are worried about being able to shoot guns in CP2077, then my advice would be to play as a Netrunner 😉

Frozeneggo

There is an alternate music video for the credits song that has a short story from before Lucy joined. would be great to see you react to it even if it was muted to hell for youtube

demonic-myst

second season stated be new crew and their very own tragerdy

"There are no happy endings in NC" a lot of people say. True to an extent, but a bit of a cynical way to put it. Mike Pondsmith, who created the setting, has said that "you can't save the world, but you can always save yourself." However, sometimes it's enough to just save somebody. No matter who, With that said, I'd like to point out the tragedy of Lucy's actions. I mentioned this in a previous video comment, but cyberpsychosis is caused by a loss of humanity an alienation from oneself and the best way to fight it is by anchoring yourself in your humanity through your relationships. Lucy was very absent from David's life because she was trying to protect him from Arasake, but in doing so, she left him alone until his cyberpsychosis killed him. It wasn't her fault -- most people don't understand how cyberpsychosis works -- but it was her efforts to protect him that ultimately led to his death. As for what to watch next: Violet Evergarden. Please, I beg.

Neil Gossell

I like shooting guns but I also usually play stealth in things Like fallout and Elder Scrolls and can confirm. Netrunner is hella fun to play.

Neil Gossell

On top of which, David sacrificed his life so that Lucy could reach her dream of getting to the moon. However, after what happened with Pillar and the Chrome-dicked cyberpsycho, her dream changed. She didn't care as much about getting to the moon as she did being able to be with him... It's like the extreme version of the story of the 2 lovers, one cut their hair to afford a nice new strap for the other's wrist watch, while the other one sold the watch to afford new hair clasps for his partners long hair. Only in this version the guy that sold the watch dies, and the lady is left with hair clasps she can't use... (at least until her hair grows back) That's some Romeo and Juliet level tragedy right there. In a way, Becca got the good ending, she died right next to where David did...

Neil Gossell

Also wanted to say how incredibly incredible it was for Lucy to pull David back from completely cyberpsychosis WITHOUT MEDS. People don't talk about this enough IMO, it makes the whole scene more poignant to.

Neil Gossell

Also also... watch the ending credits one more time. you'll see how Lucy feels wandering Night City without David, smoking again (She stopped while she lived with him because he didn't smoke, but she started again after she lost him). Screaming in her sleep or in a netrunner bath. If I would her I would spend the rest of my life bringing Arasaka to their knees.

Doc and Rebecca were truly the goats of this show. Also yes Adam Smasher being called in is huge. He's a character in the game too. What are you starting next? I'd like to recommened vinland saga if you don't have anything lined up.

JohnKoffey

Yep, this show is brutal, as soon as I saw you were gonna watch it I knew pain would follow but damn is it good !

Taithos

The game takes place 2 years after the show, and in the game you can get David's jacket as well as Rebecca's shotgun. I think there are 2 skill trees they redesigned for David and Rebecca. also smasher is in the game and you can get some sweet justice for David and Rebecca.
