No spoilers, of course! - This show is based on a series of spin-off novellas that George R.R. Martin wrote to get some relaxation from the mainline A Song of Ice and Fire novels. - They'll probably explain it in the show, but this takes place around 100 years before Game of Thrones. - There's currently three novellas released, but Martin's said that he's got plans for seven in total. - The three released novellas have also been adapted into graphic novel format (which I can highly recommend, they're absolutely gorgeous to read!) I thought this was a great first episode! Fingers crossed it keeps the quality up (I could survive with a bit less awkward gross humor segments, though - the main characters' dynamic has enough comedy to prop up the show anyway)

So far I like this show. It's vibe is so different from GOT. I like that it starts out slow, almost relaxed. Just a little exposition to place it in time and space in Westeros. The whole vibe is calm, slow, chill, patient and kind as Ser Dunk. I believe it won't stay that way, though...🤔😅 I didn't read the books and avoided all spoilers around the show after the very first teaser trailer. I went in this show with absolutely no expectations and was very pleasantly surprised. I'm right there with you, I love the gentle giant, as you called him, very much. Even though we haven't seen much fo Egg, I think they will be an adorable odd couple...😊 I can't wait to see where this story goes from here and what the story behind Egg is. The orphan boy from Kings Landing, but not Flea Bottom - so no slum child, who landed in a tavern in the middle of the reach, far away from the capital. I still wonder who rode the third horse...🤔 I noticed the drunk Lord in the tavern (that claimed to have dreamt of Dunk) payed with a coin that had a dragon on it, so I'm guessing he is a Tagaryen. The Inn Keepers reaction to it hints in the same direction...🤔 This show has the potential to maybe not take your heart by storm, but to stroll in in pleasant silence, take a comfortable seat at the fire and never leave...😍

The novellas this is based on is one of my favourite things GRRM has written and this episode has been a great adaptation. You're going to enjoy this show for sure.

Its common for knights to have 2 separate horses. 1 for war and 1 for general travel so thats 2 for the knight and the third was his own as a squire.

I don't mind syncing, when it works. But far too often, the version I'm watching runs too fast for the version that is being reacted to. I have no idea why. Maybe players like Netflix and Now TV have a higher framerate than the YouTube video? I'm not techy enough to understand it.

EVERY reactor does this on Patreon because of copyright laws. If you don't like it, the edited version of this reaction (and non-blurred show) might be on youtube later. As for FLG, I'm grateful she makes the first episode of almost every season available to everyone. No one else does this for their patrons. I'm not even watching this show, but I saw this comment and had to say something.

So I don’t know if anyone else made the connection, but the part where at the beginning you hear the game of thrones theme song and then it cuts to Dunk doing his business behind a tree, well I took it as they are shi***ng on their mistakes with the previous game of thrones ending and saying they are going to do something special and listening to the feedback. At least that’s my hope. Anyways, I’m glad we are all here enjoying the first episode!

Reactors whole page can be shut down and banned if they show the entirety of the show/movie. It’s just how it is. Go watch the YouTube version then. Watching the reaction on your phone and the show on your tv isn’t that hard or complicated.

After one episode they instantly made you so invested and care for dunk and egg. Their relationship is going to be so wholesome and fun. It is beyond refreshing and fun to be back in this world again. Really enjoying the kind of smaller scale grounded part of this show as well.

You are from the EU or somewhere outside NA at least, right? I know its inconvenient but if your streaming services don't sync properly its most likely because you have some weird "local" version with different frames or something. Which ofc also causes the runtime to change a bit, you can fix that somehow yourself I think but the easier fix is to just watch the show on "the high seas" as these versions are usually the NA versions which most reactors have by default if they aren't from places with those different versions, or buy the physical versions, just check the runtime before buying :D
