I've noticed you mention "the writers" a lot when talking about the story but there really is only one writer. A lot of anime, such as Attack On Titan or Frieren, are based off of a 'manga', which is a little like a Japanese comic book. The showrunners usually try to adapt the story, dialogue and art style from manga as closely as possible, meaning the showrunners job is to try and enhance the experience through animation and audio. They usually don't take liberties with the story. The story can be attributed to the author of the manga, Hajime Isayama. I think it's a compliment most people would think there would be a whole team of writers to make something this complex, but it was actually one guy and his editor.

Was a Zeke flashback not on your AoT bing card? Another great reaction. Thanks Angela! Yes, it was probably good for you to take a break. A very heavy and overwhelming episode. Lots of interesting and great theories. If you are taking notes, it will be interesting to backtrack. I believe something snapped in Eren, and he started to "feel that way" at the end of the third season when they finally got to the sea and he realizes his true enemies are beyond the sea.

Boom! Epic cliffhanger of the series yet.

What you said was mostly true. There were some episodes, like the OVAs, that were not part of the manga, so they did have writers for that. In any case, it still takes a lot of skill to adapt a screenplay from the source, and those writers did a great job.

(Kinda) Off topic: The new AoT episodes are for me not in the "normal" feed! I have to manually use the search function, or have to change the filter from: "posts for that you have access", to "all posts" Then it shows up and I can watch it. It's kinda annoying, has anybody else the same problem?

Kevin Fog

Sometimes yes, if I'm a bit late for an episode.

I'm going to argue *for* Floch (as a written character). I think his 'backstory' gave a perfectly fine reason for his behavior. One of only two survivors of, arguably, the most grisly, distressing, horrifying series of events in this show so far (Beast Titan at Shiganshina) finds that the man who sent him to his death is *still alive*. I can't imagine what that would do to your psyche or worldview. So yeah, I disagree with Floch's actions, but I understand how he drew his conclusions. Also, this is dark, but, take what Grisha Yeager is saying to Zeke here, and try to apply it to what's happening to American citizens in 2026 in Minneapolis. I've watched the news, I completely understand where Grisha is coming from. Lessons are trying to be taught here, and once again, we see that art imitates life without even trying sometimes.
