I notice a bit of a desync with the video when matching same timestamps, for some reason this video plays a few seconds ahead faster than whats shown on Crunchyroll. I notice Crunchyroll recently changed their video player, so it might have messed with the timing sync.

The King behind the walls and a few nobles knew their true history though. Taking memories away isn't the same as not knowing. They would've continued that process for another 100 years had the Warriors not infiltrated and set events in motion. Reiner and the others not attacking doesn't change the corrupt behavior inside the walls that needed to be exposed.

I didn't have that issue myself; I watched on CR as well.

You know you're in trouble when Mikasa hits you with the Blue Steel look. Edit for the post discussion question: I didn't really feel hurt much by the episode; the moment Floch went full Goebbels with his rhetoric many episodes ago, my brain just went "okay, never mind, these guys are *clearly* in the wrong, I'm backing the scouts". The only real scene that made me soften a little was from last episode with Samuel and Daz, but only because it was a coin toss as to whether Connie lived or died. When it comes to showing the compassionate side of the narrative opposition, I'm still convinced that Mobile Suit Gundam (1979) did it the best. Almost too well, even; some parts of that show really had me rooting for the 'bad guys' due to the humanity that was written into them.

Gabi shot Floch. Gabi is a good girl.

Gaby had that WWII-esque anti-tian rfile when she shot Erne's head off. She's a great shot to get one in Floch from a moving boat. The emotional response is fair. This is the second to last of the week-to-week run of episodes in season 4 and it was the near culmination of years spent with these characters.

These last 3 episodes have been nothing but tear jerking. This episode really shows that everyone is sick of death all around of them and having to kill just to save the world at this point.

Just to sum up and clear few things that was already shown/explained in the show... Marley had 2 reasons to attack Paradis Island. 1. To "save" the world from the "inevitable" Rumbling. 2. The power of the titans is slowly losing due to advancement of technology. Eldians in Marley, especially the Warriors, are brainwashed that they are evil and in order to "atone for the sins" of their ancestors, they need to give their lives to Marley and "save" the world. Believing the world would stop hating them and accept them not just as "good Eldians" but as honorary Marleyans. However, we learned from Willy Tybur that the world didn't need saving from the Rumbling because of the vow that King Fritz (Royal Blood, Reiss' bloodline) made. Even if the whole world attacked Paradis Island, as long as the Founding Titan is in the Reiss bloodline, they would do nothing and accept their deaths. Willy only revealed the truth because the threat of the Rumbling became real when Grisha (Eren) stole the Founding Titan. That's why when Eren asked Reiner under the stage why they attacked the Wall, Reiner said "to see how the king would react." because they didn't know he will do nothing. Had they known that's the case, they could just simply march inside the Wall and snatch the Founding Titan and leave them alone. Maybe. But the world will not believe that Marley has the Founding Titan if the Paradis Island is not destroyed. Why did the Tyburs lie? Why is it so important for Marley to retrieve the Founding Titan? Because they control Marley and they are losing against other countries. They want to use the threat of the Rumbling themselves. If Paradis gets wiped out, and they have the Founding Titan, they can use this fear to keep controlling Marley and for other countries to leave them alone. They know they can't control the full power of the Founding Titan. But the whole world didn't know that. Even Marley has no idea of such condition. They just know that the Founding Titan can start the Rumbling. So yes, Tyburs are to be blamed. They're the shadow government of Marley after all. So, it's really Eldians vs Eldians lol. PS: when our Warriors were selected, they showcased their skills by infiltrating a country using their new titan powers. Magath told his superior that it feels wrong to send these kids to war. His superior just responded "these kids just conquered a country overnight right in front of your eyes" something like that. Magath cared about those kids from the start.
